** The game has two battles that can be beaten by picking up some [[InvincibilityPowerUp Invincible Candy]] prior and entering the battle with the invincibility still in effect: Mr. Frosty in Float Islands and Chef Kawasaki in Peanut Plains.
** The Bonkers battle in Sub-Tree can end just as soon as it starts if you destroy the bridge Bonkers is supposed to land on before he spawns, causing him to fall down the bottomless pit to his doom. If the bridge is destroyed too late, then Bonkers will just leap onto solid ground.

** Revenge of Meta Knight. The plot of the game involves Meta Knight taking matters into his own hands to conquer Dream Land and end its lazy lifestyle. Most of the levels in the mode take place aboard the Halberd, which has a much darker color scheme than anything else seen so far in the game, resembling something straight out of VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII more than anything. The music for the Halberd stages are also fast-paced and intense, something we're not used to hearing from a game like this, such as Meta Knight's boss theme.

If you say no, bizarrely, you still get a tutorial; it's just shorter and non-interactive. The DS remake changed this so it skips the tutorial if you say no, and uses the shorter non-interactive tutorial if you say yes.

* FranchiseCodifier: While ''Kirby'' has long been known for its diversity in direction, it was ''Super Star'' that defined the series going forward. Taking the basic PowerCopying gameplay established by ''Adventure'', it introduced the series-staple hats for Copy Abilities and greatly expanded their movesets, setting the stage for more focus on combat and action. It also has a unique "compilation" format with multiple smaller games rather than one big game -- while this format hasn't been repeated, the series would take inspiration from it to introduce additional side modes in later games. Lastly, it codified the series' recurring BossRush mode, The Arena, where you're given your choice of Copy Ability at the beginning and a rest area with healing items between each round. Later ''Kirby'' games would take heavy influence from the groundwork laid by ''Super Star'', especially from ''VideoGame/KirbysReturnToDreamLand'' onward.
