''Kart Fighter'' is a bootleg (read: {{unlicensed|Game}}) two-player FightingGame made for the Platform/Nintendo Entertainment System by Hummer Team. Predating ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros'' by six years, it's basically Mario characters (those featured in ''VideoGame/SuperMarioKart'', hence the name) beating each other up ''Franchise/StreetFighter''-style in one of the first NES fighting games. Each character has up to three command moves that allow for more damaging moves.

For a bootleg NES game, it's actually a surprisingly good effort, being one of the best 2D fighting games for the console alongside the officially-made ''Videogame/JoyMechFight'' (and the bigger amount of ''VideoGame/StreetFighterII'' feeling you'll ever get on a NES game).

Dummied Out is now trivia. Moving examples accordingly.

* DummiedOut: The game contains graphics for a GameOver screen, which ended up being unused and replaced by the high score screen. Some character sprites within the game data are also unused.

* NeverTrustATitle: Despite the [[WordSaladTitle weird title]], this is not a mix between racing games and fighting games. Only the "Fighter" makes sense to the game's "plot".
