* CallBack: As a remake, this game can be expected to have a few:
**The in-game map is similar to the original Neptunia; the landmasses being floating islands. However, navigating them is identical to ''Mk2'' and ''Victory''.
* ForcedTutorial: As if any Neptunia game would let you off the hook.

* PaperthinDisguise: The developers at Felistella thought the Goddesses needed a disguise when they were in the human world and not in Celestial or Basillicoms. What was the ingenious disguise, you ask? A pair of glasses.

* SpiritAdvisor/TreacherousAdvisor: [[spoiler: Arfoire]] plays this role to the Goddesses while in Celestia. This is the reason why they cast Neptune from Celestia, as opposed to the first game, where it was decided on a whim.

* {{BFG}}:Compa's syringe. Neptune even notes of the cliche of carrying a huge weapon.
* UpdatedRerelease: The entire reason for creating Re;Birth 1, in fact, was to serve this purpose. The game is essentially the first, but using Victory's battle system; additionally, it has new material to make the storyline fresh.

* AllPeriodsArePMS: IF assumes Arfoire is menstruating the first time they fight.

* TheDevTeamThinksOfEverything: If you change Neptune's clothing and use her hammer skill in the field you can see that they took the time to change the color of her panties to match her stockings.

* StronglyWordedLetter: * Played straight when Neptune and her friends send a series of threatening letters as a tactic to lure out [[spoiler:Arfoire]], Overlord Momus' messenger and separate her from a group of extremists she's leading. The plan actually works, but for a reason none of them expected - because Neptune [[AccidentalMisnaming misspelled Momus' name as "Overlord Moron"]].

Apparently, the faults of the game were seen by the developers, as, three years later, a remake by the name of ''Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1'' was released for the PSVita. This remake completely rewrites the plot and setting to be more in line with later titles and updates the battle system and production values to match ''VideoGame/HyperdimensionNeptuniaVictory''. A PC version of this remake is being considered, as well.

It has to be one variety or the other; that\'s why Boss Dissonance is being split

* BossDissonance: Comes in both varieties. Some of the dungeons have random powerful {{Mooks}}. Unfortunately (or fortunately, if you're going for [[RankInflation S Ranks]]), the bosses are so easy that it's an insult. This trope is especially prevalent in dungeons where you're supposed to find the boss of the dungeon and kill it. Other times the random {{Mooks}} are exceptionally weak while the boss is [[ThatOneBoss just ridiculously overpowered]]. [[ItGotWorse Worse yet are easy dungeons that end with a]] SequentialBoss fight; you've been [[ScratchDamage whittled down]] just enough to put you out of reach of your [[ScrappyMechanic Item Skills]] but still low enough for one phase of the boss to [[CoupDeGrace finish the job instantly.]]
