The third installment of the Franchise/DragonAge series, set to be released in Fall 2014 for PC, Xbox 360, [=PS3=], [=PS4=] and Xbox One. The game takes place across the lands of the Orlesian Empire, the Free Marches, and Ferelden, among others, after the conclusion of Literature/Asunder and the VideoGame/DragonAgeII epilogue in 9:40 Dragon, and concerns the on-going war between the Mages and the Templars that started in the second installment.
Instead of the Warden or Hawke, the player takes control of a new human main character with a variety of selectable, though non-playable, backgrounds. The goal of the game is to rebuild the ancient Inquisition, originally an AntiMagicalFaction from the Divine Age, which merged with the Chantry nine centuries ago and eventually split into the now rogue Templar Order and Seekers of Truth.
The first trailer, "The Fires Above", can be viewed here.

* AntiMagicalFaction: The purpose of the original Inquisition, before it joined forces with the Chantry and was splintered into various branches. What path the new Inquisition will follow remains to be seen.
* ArtShift: The elves were redesigned again, to look less human-with-pointy-ears than in Origins, but also less stylized than in Dragon Age II. In fact the entire game is being ported to a different engine than the first two.
* CivilWar: The ongoing Mage and Templar War, and an upheaval in Orlais foreshadowed in II and Asunder.
** EnemyCivilWar: The schism between the Seekers, the Templars and the Chantry, following the dissolution of the Nevarran Accord in Asunder.
* DialogueDuringGameplay: Party banter returns.
* DuringTheWar: The game takes place during the Mage and Templar war that began in the final chapters of [=DA2=].
* MultipleChoicePast: Though the main character can only be human a la Dragon Age II, you can choose a number of different backgrounds for them that affect how the story unfolds.
* OldSaveBonus: Like in the previous installments, you can import old DA saves at the start of a new game.
* PlayerHeadquarters: The player has access to a central fortress where they can speak to their companions, similar to the party camp in Origins.
* PlayerParty: As in the previous titles, you can to switch control to any member of your current party at will.
* PrestigeClass: Unlike in the previous games, the PlayerCharacter is limited to one specialization per playthrough, but it has more impact on the plot.
* PreviousPlayerCharacterCameo: The developers have said that the Warden and Hawke may appear if data from previous games in the series was imported.
* PuttingTheBandBackTogether: You are tasked with reuniting the factions of the ancient Inquisition that helped end the previous magic wars.
* RainbowPimpGear: Averted. Each armor piece matches the wearer's preferred color scheme and style the moment you put it on them.
* RomanceSidequest: Various romance options for your main character are available, as in the previous games.
