History Tsundere / Anime

** Inuyasha himself is a good example of a male type A. Kinda [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold jerk-ish]], rather [[BrutalHonesty blunt]] but he also has his moments where he shows genuine concern for his companions, especially Kagome. His consideration remains awkward but heartfelt.

* Sesshomaru from ''InuYasha'' seems to be this with Rin [[spoiler:after using Tenseiga to resurrect her/save her life]], and arguably with Inuyasha himself as well.

After all, the term ''tsundere'' is of Japanese origin, so tsunderes are certainly in manga and anime.

** Yoko's behavior toward Kamina is basicly a lid for her massive crush on him that she harbours from the early episodes. Yelling and beatings for his bravado are out of care.

* Yoko Littner from ''TengenToppaGurrenLagann'' fits this trope in the early episodes with her behavior towards Kamina--initially yelling at and chastising him, then softening towards him and kissing him. After [[spoiler:his death]], she largely outgrows this trope and becomes a full-fledged CoolBigSis.

*** Actually, Taiga can be seen as a somewhat more realistic take on the archetype. Her reasons to have these mood swings, violent outbursts and complexes abour her size come less from love life doubts and more from a really screwed up family life. [[spoiler: She's from a rich family, but her dad went bankrupt and pretty much disappeared from his kid's life, leaving her in care of her recently re-married mother. Taiga herself cannot emotionally connect with her mom, step-dad and stepbrother, so she ends up living alone in the apartment next to Ryuuji's rather than dealing with her broken family.]]

* Maam, and to a lesser extent Leona, from ''DragonQuest: Dai's Great Adventure''.

* [[OtakuSurrogate Konata]] in ''LuckyStar'' outright designates her friend Kagami as one, complete with the explanation that it's appropriate for [[NeonGenesisEvangelion girls with twin pigtails.]] This reference is probably due to the prevalence of tsundere with pigtails at a time when the term started to come into general usage.

* TypeMoon seems to have a thing for Type Tsun (pun intended):
** Tohno Akiha in ''{{Tsukihime}}'' is this, but being the {{Ojou}}, she shows her tsun-tsun side far more often outside her own route [[spoiler:and dips into outright {{Yandere}} in Kohaku's, thanks to a partial possession by an evil ghost and her own demon blood getting riled]].
** White Len in ''MeltyBlood'' for Shiki Nanaya, [[spoiler: whom she summoned as a TATARI avatar,]] mirroring (black) Len's ''dere''-ness for Shiki Tohno.
** As pictured on the main page: Rin Tohsaka in ''[[FateStayNight Fate/stay night]]''. She's heavily on the tsun side in "Fate"; it's in "Unlimited Blade Works", where she's the main love interest, that her dere side comes out (in the last scenario, "Heaven's Feel", she again plays WorthyOpponent-turns-TheLancer role). A perfect example (which made it into the anime) is the scene where she goes from ''trying to blast Shirou senseless'' to tending his Rider-inflicted wounds in the space of a few minutes.
*** In ''Heaven's Feel'', she's still ''very'' Tsundere. The focus of it just shifts from Shirou to [[spoiler:her sister,]] Sakura. In fact, in some ways, HF is where her Tsundere nature (and the reasons behind it) is most obvious (''especially'' at the end).
*** To be honest, this is Rin's defining trait. In FateKaleidLinerPrismaIllya, this Rin is set an AlternateUniverse and yet this trope applies rather hard to her there. In Fate/Extra, the lady is not [[NamesTheSame the same one we know of]]... and yet she is a Tsundere, through and through. If the name Rin Tohsaka is involved, the one big thing that gets carried over (outside of her appearance) is her Tsundere nature.
** Shiki Ryougi from ''KaraNoKyoukai'' is a hardcore Type Tsun, bordering the HeroicSociopath zone, but softens considerably in Mikiya Kokutou's presence. Worth noting is that her Tsun side ''will stab people to death''.

* Mion Sonozaki from ''HigurashiNoNakuKoroNi'' is a closet tsundere over Keiichi. Closet because, whenever her "dere" side appears, she's usually [[TwinSwitch impersonating her twin]]. Satoko also presents some tsundere-like characteristics.
** Though Mion's tsundere-ness is in debate, one of the TIPS from the VN pegs another Sonozaki as having the attitude of one: ''Oryou.'' Mion speculates this due to Oni-baba's decision to sell off land in an attempt to get new people to come to Hinamizawa and help erase the extreme prejudice against the Houjous, rather than work against it directly.
* Jessica Ushiromiya from UminekoNoNakuKoroNi. Shannon even lampshades it in the game.

** [[spoiler:In the later episodes, Battler and Beato are tsundere for each other, as part of their ongoing MindGameShip.]]
*** [[spoiler:And, of course, there is the episode where Beato suddenly goes completely deredere to outmaneuver Battler. When she triumphantly reveals her plan, she explicitly refers to this trope.]]
** Satan from the Stakes of Purgatory is described by her sisters as "a tsundere, but without the dere"

* This was [[GalaxyAngelGameverse originally]] Ranpha Franboise's personality in ''GalaxyAngel''. This was modified into a general overbearing romantic and golddigging streak in the television series, probably because tsundere [[PinkBishoujoGhetto need a boy]] to emote at.

* {{Saiyuki}} has Sanzo as the male example. He is short-tempered, has little patience with anyone, a foul mouth and attitude, and constantly shoots people (even those in his party) while spewing death threats over the slightest annoyance. [[spoiler: However, in one episode on Reload, the same pissy monk [[strike: had been forced to]] reluctantly agrees to babysit a stray kitten the party stumbled on after fighting youkai in spite of [[WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes his crippling fear of triggering his allergies of cats]], and gradually warms up to the cat enough to nap with it and grow heavily concerned over it when it was injured trying to save him from a surprise attack.]] Every once in a while, however, he is a lot calmer in talking with [[TeamMom Hakkai]] without the need of violence, and genuinely cares for [[MoralityPet Goku]] among the others of the group (whether he admits it or not) that he [[BerzerkButton gets even more pissed when they're particularly injured or in danger]]. In cases where his party passes by a town in need (where the monster of the episode may be lurking), he also is charismatic and shows a bit of care in the welbeing of whoever the party has to save (namely female one-of characters). [[spoiler: His past incarnation, Konzen, is also the same, but his tsun-tsun is a lot more toned down and he's a lot more willing to show he has a dere-dere side.]]

** Actually, ''Usagi'' started as a mild version of a Type B. She was a CuteClumsyGirl crybaby, but when Mamoru showed up and teased/critted her, she went all tsuntsun on him. On the other hand, she mellowed out almost immediately after they got together.
* Asuka Sugo from ''FutureGPXCyberFormula'' is a Type B Tsundere in the TV series. She is generally a sweet and caring girl, but sometimes her teammate and [[VictoriousChildhoodFriend longtime friend]] Hayato can push her buttons. In one episode, for example, when he was chasing her [[TeamPet pet dog]] V-8, she hit him with a computer-like board. In another episode she threw stuff at him when he [[AccidentalPervert accidentally saw her wearing a towel]].

* Keiko Yukimura from ''YuYuHakusho'', kind and helpful towards everyone unless she's dealing with Yuusuke. And even then, the possibility of having Yuusuke seriosuly hurt or dead sends her into tears, if not into an HeroicBSOD.

* Two oldschool examples are Honey from ''HoneyHoney'' and Candy from ''CandyCandy''. Both are blonde, plucky, cheerful {{Heartwarming Orphan}}s who go grumpy towards GentlemanThief Phoenix and TroubledButCute Terry, respectively.

** Though Candy is PURE deredere towards her other possible love interests, Anthony [[spoiler: (who dies in an accident)]] and Albert [[spoiler: (Anthony's uncle, who MAY be more likely to get to her, since Terry stays with IllGirl Susanna instead.)]]
