* HideYourPregnancy: When Creator/DaniellePanabaker was pregnant during season 6, Caitlin/Frost was in no narrative position to do the same, so the pregnancy was not written in. Therefore, the character suffered from OutOfFocus in the second half of Season 6, with several scenes of her sitting or lying down. Finally, the writers invented a subplot for the character to be absent from the last three episodes...only for the Covid-19 pandemic to cause the production of these episodes to be suspended indefinitely.

* IKnewIt:
** The man on fire who does not burn up mentioned by Iris in Episode 6 being Ronnie Raymond.
** Quite a few people were able to guess that "Harrison Wells" is the Reverse-Flash before TheReveal in "The Man in the Yellow Suit" based upon various aspects of the character.
** The fact that Flash was there when Reverse-Flash killed Nora Allen.
** General Eiling being involved in the F.I.R.E.S.T.O.R.M. project.
** Mark Mardon still being alive.
** General Eiling still being alive.
** Many fans called Ronnie returning as Deathstorm before it was officially announced.
** Black Siren's survival was correctly predicted by a number of fans. It helps that [[Creator/KatieCassidy her actress]], Creator/TeddySears, and the showrunners inadvertently spoiled it in cons (the latter two) and interviews (the former).
** Henry Allen's death was (rightfully) predicted the moment he returns after Barry lost his powers to Zoom. Barry's BigNo in [[TrailersAlwaysSpoil the trailer for that episode essentially just sealed it]].
** Zoom being the real identity of "Jay Garrick," given the numerous clues throughout the season like his Earth-1 counterpart having the same name as Zoom's true identity in the comics, or his AdaptationalWimp nature.
** The man in the iron mask was, as soon as he appeared, theorized to be the real Jay Garrick, which became more likely as we found out the truth behind Zoom. Then when Henry Allen revealed that 'Garrick' was his mother's maiden name, the already present theory that he was Henry Allen's doppelganger became so common it was assumed fact before it was revealed.
** Fans who are familiar with the comics immediately predicted a ''ComicBook/{{Flashpoint}}'' storyline after the end of Season 2 in which Barry goes back in time to save his mother from the Reverse-Flash. Sure enough, they were right.
** At the beginning of Season 3, after getting a similar twist twice in a row, people immediately suspected that Alchemy was secretly one of Barry's acquaintances. Julian was the biggest suspect, and alas, these suspicions were true. Considering [[Creator/TomFelton who plays him]] and the character's first name [[note]]Alchemy's real name in the comics is Albert Desmond.[[/note]], it's not really a surprise. However, they were not expecting to find this out until the mid-season finale. Also, it turned out that Julian wasn't aware of this, as he was being controlled by [[GreaterScopeVillain Savitar]].
** Many had speculated that the villain of the MusicalEpisode was going to be the Music Meister from ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheBraveAndTheBold'', voiced by Creator/NeilPatrickHarris. The fandom was delighted to find out this theory was correct, though the role was played by someone else.
** Many had speculated that Savitar is future version of Barry Allen, by interpreting his statement "I am the Future Flash" as Savitar literally saying he is a future version of Barry. More attentive fans also noticed how similar Savitar's general appearance was to that of the Future Flash introduced in the ComicBook/New52 and pointed out the contrast between how Barry's nemesis was a self-proclaimed god when Barry was constantly told throughout the season that he ''wasn't'' a god. About half the fanbase had sided with this theory before it was finally confirmed in "I Know Who You Are." Furthermore, quite a few had speculated that Savitar was a time remnant of Barry Allen, which was confirmed in "Cause and Effect".
** The theory that [=DeVoe=] would steal Ralph's body to recover his original likeness via Ralph's shape-shifting]] turned out to be true. This theory was made more popular because of Hartley Sawyer's travel to Argentina.
** Speculations that Marlize would turn on Clifford [=DeVoe=] were right. It was also rightfully guessed that Marlize would support Team Flash against [=DeVoe=]'s plan.
** Quite a few fans predicted that Barry and [=DeVoe=] would have a BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind in the finale, which turned out to be spot-on.
** Regarding the identity of Mystery Girl, there were two main camps. Either she was the future daughter of Barry and Iris; Dawn Allen, OR she was the unborn baby girl of Joe and Cecile; who was likely a {{Gender Flip}}ed Daniel West. The former turned out to be correct, although she had underwent an [[AdaptationNameChange name change]] to [[DeadGuyJunior Nora]] Allen (which some fans had ''also'' anticipated from the Speed Force induced absent-minded Barry saying "Nora shouldn't be here"). Some also speculated Mystery Girl was XS, [[CompositeCharacter which also turned out to be true]]...and then the Flash 100th episode has Eobard referring to her as "Dawn" meaning [[CanonCharacterAllAlong she is Dawn Allen after all]] but merely with a name change.
** Fans had guessed that at the Season Finale Nora would be erased from existence. An image of Barry and Iris crying raised these suspicions.
** While reading the description of "Kiss Kiss Breach Breach", fans guessed that [[spoiler:Cynthia / Gypsy]] [[BusCrash was killed off]].
** It was theorized that Thawne was inside Nash. [[spoiler:He does in "Death of the Speed Force"]].

* HostilityOnTheSet: In 2022, Patton revealed on [[https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/candice-patton-on-quiet-abuse-in-tv-film-i-could-get/id1629162083?i=1000568625406 The Open Up Podcast]] the racist abuse she was subjected to working on the show from the very beginning. This included lack of support from the network, studio, producers and cast when subjected to against racist abuse online, lack of acknowledgement of the severity and danger of said abuse, lack of support from cast, racial targeted neglect and mistreatment by crew/cast/production, being labelled "difficult" for advocating for the very minimum of professional respect, eg. HMU staff able to style black hair.
** Patton has also revealed previously that Iris was not ''allowed'' to have a natural hairstyle on the show until Season 7 (!) and even then it was only thanks to years of her advocacy.

** Speaking of Hamill, several actors who had voiceover roles in the fellow DC media franchise that was the Franchise/{{DCAU}} have been common. In addition to Hamill ([[WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries The Joker]], [[WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague Solomon Grundy]]) reprising his role as James Jesse from both the 1990 ''Flash'' show '''and''' ''WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague Unlimited'', both Creator/ClancyBrown ([[WesternAnimation/SupermanTheAnimatedSeries Lex Luthor]]) and Creator/MichaelIronside ([[WesternAnimation/SupermanTheAnimatedSeries Darkseid]]) have had roles in the series as well, while Creator/MorenaBaccarin ([[WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague Black Canary]]) and Creator/KeithDavid ([[WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague Despero]]) provided voiceovers for the series. ''Arrow'' has similarly had Creator/MichaelJaiWhite ([[WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague Doomsday]]).

* NamesTheSame: Joe West is also the name of a Major League Baseball umpire.

* UnderminedByReality: The Season 4 episode "Girls Night Out" has Iris, Cecile and Felicity constantly say "#feminism" while facing Amunet Black. While that approach to promote feminism was already criticized for being [[{{Anvilicious}} too in the face]], the message lost all credibility when Andrew Kreisberg (who presided over the season's first half) was accused of sexual harassment and of creating a misogynist atmosphere and was fired mere three days after the episode aired.

* FanNickname:
** The hidden room of Eobard Thawne is called "the Zoom Room of Doom [and Gloom]." Cisco later dubs it the "time vault."
** Barry's multiple father figures are "Blackdad" or "Copdad" (Joe), "Jaildad" or "Flashdad" (Henry), and "(Shady/Evil) Science Dad" (Thawne).
** "STAR-Kids" for the Flash's mostly-youthful support team at STAR Labs (with bonus points because Carlos Valdes, who plays Cisco, [[Creator/TeamStarKid was a StarKid]]).
** Wellsobard for Eobard Thawne disguised as "Dr. Wells," in order to differentiate him from the real Dr. Wells and the Earth-2 "Harry" Wells.
** Zoom's lair is called [[Series/{{Arrow}} Lian Zoom]] by some fans.
** Goblin Rival for The Rival die to this version being InNameOnly with a ridiculous costume that seems more akin to the Black Racer or the [[Comicbook/SpiderMan Green Goblin]].

** Following the reveal of Savitar's identity, [[Website/{{Reddit}} r/FlashTV]] and a few other forums quickly dubbed him Barritar (though the nickname was in use as early as [[http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2551518 March 2017]]).
** [=SheVoe=] for [=DeVoe=] after he hijacks Hazard's body, and later Izzy's.
** Marlize [=DeVoe=] is often called The Mechanic, because WordOfGod is that she is loosely based on the DC villain of the same name.
** "[[spoiler: Cicada II]]" is this in season 5, for the future, adult version of Grace Gibbons that takes over the Cicada mantle from her uncle. As of "Snow Pack", the characters InUniverse [[AscendedFanon are using it as well]].
** To refer to Grace Gibbons becoming Cicada, she is called Shecada or Thiccada.
** Nora has gotten the nickname "Reverse XS" after being corrupted by the Negative Speed Force and gaining Thawne's signature glowing eyes and red lightning.

** Jesse Quick's DemotedToExtra status post Season Three, was because of Violett Beane's budging career by becoming a major recurring character on ''Series/TheResident'', filming a horror flick, ''Film/TruthOrDare2018'', and later landing the leading role in the CBS drama ''Series/GodFriendedMe''.

** Due to the ''Film/{{Suicide Squad|2016}}'' movie, Captain Boomerang was PutIntoABus after [[Recap/ArrowS3E8TheBraveAndTheBold "The Brave and the Bold."]]. He later returned in ''Arrow'' Season 5, where he was KilledOffForReal.

** There are a slew of Australian and Canadian actors playing American characters on this show.
*** From the Australian front, we have Creator/RickCosnett [[note]] While Rick is Australian by blood, he was born in Zimbabwe. [[/note]], Creator/LiamMcIntyre, Creator/KeiynanLonsdale, and Todd Lasance as Eddie Thawne, Mark Mardon, Wally West, and Edward Clariss, respectively.
*** From the Canadian front, we have Creator/RobbieAmell and Creator/VictorGarber as Ronnie Raymond and Martin Stein, respectively. Harrison Wells is a possible example as well, as Creator/TomCavanagh is Canadian, and it's never mentioned whether Wells is American or not.
** An odd case with the actress(es) portraying Linda Park, who is Korean-American. Her first actress was Olivia Cheng, who is Canadian by birth but whose parents are Cantonese-speaking Chinese immigrants. Her second (and permanent) actress, Creator/MaleseJow, is half-Chinese and part-Cherokee...which gives the implication that Linda ''has'' Korean ancestry in the show mixed in with some white background; Jow is AmbiguouslyBrown enough to pull this off, and nobody is complaining overall.
** Gambian-English Franz Drameh plays American Jefferson Jackson.
** And then there's American Creator/KateeSackhoff becoming a FakeBrit to play Amunet.
** Creator/SendhilRamamurthy, like Katee Sackhoff above, is an American actor [[FakeBrit portraying a Brit]].

* ReleaseDateChange: Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the episodes of Season 6 from "So Long and Good Night" had to be postponed. Episodes that were planned to be released as part of Season 6 after "Success is Assured" were pushed to Season 7. Moreover, the coronavirus outbreak also delayed filming, which led to Season 7 being the first season of ''The Flash'' not to be released in October. While initially slated to be released in January 2021, it was later pushed to February 23, 2020.

** After some 6 to 11-year-old [[ValuesDissonance poorly aged,]] [[BlackComedy dark humor]] tweets by Hartley Sawyer resurfaced during the Black Lives Matter protests, Eric Wallace confirmed on June 9, 2020, that Sawyer wouldn't return in Season 7. To address his situation, Wallace revealed he would have another actor portray him for a few episodes to give closure to Sue's cliffhanger before writing the character out.

It is currently unknown if or how the proposed cliffhanger will be used in Season 7.

** Creator/GeoffJohns has stated that the ''Arrow'' and ''Flash'' shows will ''not'' be in the same universe as ''Film/ManOfSteel'' and ''Film/BatmanVSupermanDawnOfJustice''.
** Those people who thought "Harrison Wells" might be a RedHerring for the Reverse-Flash's identity? In [[Recap/TheFlash2014S1E11TheSoundAndTheFury "The Sound and the Fury,"]] he uses his speed to dodge falling glass and we learn that his powers are failing.
** It was believed Jay Garrick or Jesse Quick [[BackForTheDead would die]] in "Enter Flashtime" because the actors were busy in other projects. They survive. At least it seems Jay is leaving in a non-lethal way.
** Any hopes the Bus Metas other than Ralph Dibny would survive [[http://ew.com/tv/2018/05/22/flash-mystery-girl-identity-nora-barry-iris-daughter/ were denied by Todd Helbing.]]
** It was confirmed Ralph would not be paired with Caitlin.
** During Season 5, it was rumored that Carlos Valdes would leave the series, but he clarified that he would not leave the series in Season 6.
** In "So Long and Goodnight" fans speculated that Joe would die, but he is just sent to witness protection.
** One of the photos of "Pay the Piper" with a man lying inside a crystal crate in S.T.A.R. Labs led people to believe it was Godspeed, but it actually was Roderick, Hartley's boyfriend.

* JustForFun/OneOfUs: In an interview together, both Gustin and Patton mutually agreed with the fanbase that it would be cool if Barry and Iris had a vow renewing ceremony on the show, since their actual wedding took place on ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow'', with the two of them both expressing interest in it happening sometime in the future.
