Acts as a bit of a full-circle moment considering that the arm lock suplex used by Michelle and Julia was created by Suzuki and taught to joshi wrestlers.

!!The film:
* ActorSharedBackground: Lateef Crowder is not only proficient in capoeira, but he's also Brazilian, making him apt to play Eddy Gordo.
* BoxOfficeBomb: The 2010 film's budget was $35 million. Its box office take? $1,696,665. Never theatrically released in America, the poor showing was especially incredible in Japan.
* CastTheExpert: They specifically cast people with real fighting experience.
* DisownedAdaptation: Katsuhiro Harada, director of the games, said the movie was terrible, and wanted the animated film Tekken: Blood Vengeance to erase this one from memory.
* DyeingForYourArt: Jon Foo went on a three month diet for the film.
* FakeIrish:
** South African actress Candice Hillebrand as Nina Williams. Using an American accent.
** Anna is likewise played by Marian Zipco, who is Spanish. She only says one word in the whole film though.
* FakeNationality:
** Jin is Japanese, played by the Singaporean-Irish actor Jon Foo. He was also born and raised in the UK, which is why Jin speaks with a distinct London accent.
** American actress Kelly Overton as the Brazilian Christie Monteiro.
** Cung Lee is Vietnamese-American, playing Marshall Law, who is Chinese.
** Miguel Rojo is Spanish. Roger Huerta is American.
* PromotedFanboy: Jon Foo was a huge fan of the games, and felt honored to play Jin.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** When the project was first in development, original director Charles Stone III hoped to get the likes of Creator/JackieChan and Creator/JetLi to star.
** Creator/SarahPolley was also considered to play Nina.
** Gina Philips (of Film/JeepersCreepers fame) was originally cast at Anna, but had to drop out due to a pregnancy.
** Director Dwight H. Little's first choice for Jin was Ryan Merriman.
** Creator/TakeshiKaneshiro, Creator/SiennaGuillory, Susie Amy, Creator/AndySerkis, Nathan Jones, and Wrestling/KurtAngle were all at one point attached to the project.
** Ling Xiaoyou was originally intended to be a significant character and Jin's primary love interest (matching their relationship in the games), with Creator/ChiakiKuriyama in running for the role. For unknown reasons, Kuriyama dropped out of the project and the script was subsequently changed with Ling's role given to Christie.

Removing non-trivia tropes. Also, bad indentation.

* NonDubbedGrunts: The series has been known to recycle clips for returning characters. While some are fortunate enough to have changed clips regularly (Hwoarang, for example), others aren't lucky. This also overlaps with TheOtherDarrin sometimes as the clips are retained despite their cutscene voices being different. On one hand, characters like Jin and Kazuya escape this - they've had the same Japanese voice actor and voice samples since 4 while someone like Steve underwent different voice actors but still retains his samples from 5.
** Notably, this meant that the [=VAs=] who were current back in 2012 (around the 6/Tag 2-era) were only able to record grunts and fight sounds starting from Street Fighter X Tekken. This was a lot more noticeable considering how that specific era saw some characters being voiced by more prominent English talent, such as Creator/LiamOBrien, Creator/PatrickSeitz, Creator/DavidVincent and Creator/MaryElizabethMcGlynn, as opposed to the pool of foreign voice actors taken from in Japan.
** TwoVoicesOneCharacter: Overlaps with the above trope. For the majority of the roster who do not originate from Asia or speak languages from that region (like Lars and Alisa speaking Japanese despite representing Sweden and Russia, respectively), there have often been discrepancies with their battle grunts and cutscene dialogue where it is made clear that two separate actors are providing the voices. For example, characters like Eddy and Julia retain their voice grunts from 5 despite getting more prominent English voice actors in 6, and in Eddy's case, lost that in favor of a native speaker of Brazilian Portuguese in Tag 2 (similar treatment applies to characters from non-English territories who spoke the language in previous games).
* OldShame: If Harada's comments about Free-To-Play games in a recent developer roundtable were any indication, it seems that he was a bit disappointed on how Tekken Revolution turned out in the end.

** For reasons Harada exasperatedly describes at length here, the developers couldn't possibly retain the same voice actors for most of the characters even if they wanted to. There's also a weird case in Tag 2 wherein the returning European language-speaking characters (Eddy, Christie, Lili, Miguel, Leo) now have lines in their native tongues, yet still retain their original battle cries from 6.

Her battle cries in the earlier Tekken games, meanwhile, were provided by Creator/YumiTouma (yes, Nina's earlier voice actress later went on to voice Xiaoyu!). * AdaptationalEarlyAppearance: The anime Tekken Bloodlines, which is based on Tekken 3, features Leroy Smith, Feng Wei and Craig Marduk entering the tournament, despite being introduced in later games. Only Leroy has any involvement in the plot, however.
* AdaptationalExplanation: In Tekken 3, Jin was trained by his mother Jun and has some of her moves, but also has some of his father Kazuya's moves even though he never knew him. Tekken Bloodlines resolves this by saying Heihachi taught him Mishima style karate and that he should combine the styles he knew into a unique moveset. It also explains the reason his pants had a flame motif (beyond signaling to players his status as Kazuya's son); they represent the house fire left in the aftermath of Ogre's attack.
* AdaptedOut: Although it is (roughly) set at the time of Tekken 3, Tekken Bloodlines doesn't feature a single mention of the Jack robots. This is a contrast to the previous anime Tekken: The Motion Picture which has a large role for Jack-2.

* TrollingCreator: Katsuhiro Harada is infamous for doing this on his Twitter constantly. The biggest one being him saying that Lucky Chloe will be removed from the US version and replaced with a muscular skinhead in response to some hate tweets. ** This backfired on Harada in the leadup to Tekken 7s home release, when an obvious joke answer from an interview where he said animal rights activists prevented Roger Jr. from appearing in 7 got picked up by a number of gaming websites as the actual reason the character didn't show up. Harada had to clear it up on Twitter that he was joking and the answer was an example of how hard it is to keep the fanbase happy about the game's roster selections.
** And the sentiment for the above led into the infamous "Don't ask me for SHIT" T-shirt. Since then, he's continued to be humorously dismissive of entitled fan demands, even tweeting replies to the people who make unreasonable expections of other game developers. While he does disagree with fan assumptions and expectations (of character inclusions specifically), he is receptive to genuine fan interest and questions.

* AdaptedOut: Although it is (roughly) set at the time of Tekken 3, Tekken Bloodlines doesn't feature a single mention of the Jack robots. This is a contrast to the previous anime Tekken: The Motion Picture which has a large role for Jack-2.

* FanNickname:
** Heihachi apparently has a lot of these:
*** Mystic Manly Heihachi Muthafuckin' Mishima Bentley, Jr., which is usually abbreviated as Mystic Man Bentley or MMB.
*** Polish players reffer him as Heniek/Henio, which is a diminutive form of Henry.
*** Puerto Ricans, who have a very healthy and active Tekken-playing community, call him "El Viejo Cabrón", which roughly translates to "The Fucking Old Guy." The word cabrón in Puertorican Spanish can refer to both someone who's completely awesome and someone who's a complete dick... both apt descriptions for Heihachi.
** Due to Hwoarang's name being hard to spell by Western players, he got nicknamed Bob. But now that there's an actual Bob on the roster... Fans now spell Bob (the nickname, which stands for Boy On Bike) as BOB to differentiate it from the actual character.
** Julia is sometimes called "Sumireko", as people have pointed out that she looks strikingly similar to her.
** When Jaycee was first revealed in the initial trailers for [=TTT2=], she was given the nickname "Queen" in deference to the existing male luchador King.
** Fans were quick to dub Yoshimitsu's new look in Tekken 7 as "Hentaimitsu", due to him having several octopus tentacles adorning his armor.
** In Japan, Claudio is referred to as "Osse", which is his line of dialogue where his hand becomes engulfed in blue energy. His odd spin kick is also called "Genocide Cutter", based on Rugal's move in The King of Fighters (KOF). (The actual name on his movelist is "Sky Slash Nova," for those who are curious.) His running punch is also referred to as "Superman Punch" or "Burn Knuckle", the latter an attack of Terry Bogard, also from KOF. And then Geese Howard, a villain from the KOF universe, made his Tekken debut. How "predictabo."
** Dragunov is often affectionately called "Sir Gay", an intentional LyricSwap of his first name (Sergei). Asuka is also referred to as "Oscar" while Bryan is referred to as "Byron" for the same reason.
** Kazumi is occasionally called Tiger Mama due to effctively being the Mishima Family Matriarch (being Kazuya's mother, Lee's adoptive mother, and Jin's grandmother) as well as being able to summon her pet tiger during a fight at any given time.
** Paul's Phoenix Smasher (qcf+2), and other moves similar to it, are called "Deathfists" by the playerbase, as the move tends to do absurdly high damage, especially if it ends up being a counter hit.
** The Mishima Spinning Demon (f,N,d,df+4) and any similar unseeable high damage knockdown sweep are called Hellsweeps. Considering the description, it shouldn't come as a surprise that these are hell to block... but in turn they're also hell for the user themselves if blocked, as they are usually launch punishable.
*** Similarly, any relatively slow but often high-damaging evasive low sweeps that give a full (usually high damage) combo on hit and are homing are often called Snake Edges after Bryan's move of the same name (df+3).
** Kazumi's Tiger Wind Uppercut (df+2) is, for all intents and purposes, a literal Tiger Uppercut... as in, she uses an actual tiger to launch the opponent skywards.
** A glitch for Lei Wulong involving canceling his back-turn stance for an alternative means of backdashing became known as the "Ha Ha Step", since every time it was performed Lei would constantly make battle grunts that sounded like he was laughing when strung together. It has since become an AscendedGlitch.
** Leroy has earned the nickname "Old Woolie", owing to his dreadlocks.
** The newest character, Fahkumram, has been instantly christened "Fuck Ur Mom" by the fans due to being unable to properly pronounce his name and his intimidating appearance. He is alternatively known as "Fuck You Man".
** "Cutiemitsu" for Kunimitsu II, due to fans finding her voice, appearance, and more open personality compared to her mother cute.
*** Some fans have also noted that Kunimitsu II bears a striking resemblance to Speed-o-Sound Sonic (and to a lesser extent, Wraith). Funnily enough, Kunimitsu also shares a voice actress with Fubuki, of all people!
** Ciri for Lidia. Amusingly enough, there's even a mod that has Lidia cosplaying as Ciri herself! Some also consider her to be Paul's DistaffCounterpart due to her hard-hitting fighting style, similar appearance, and the same Kiai - OSU!
