* WordOfDante: This comic is responsible for the 'CATACLYSM' theory in the Mega Man fandom. AKA; the '[[VideoGame/MegaManX Zero]] murders the entire VideoGame/MegaManClassic cast before the events of X' theory. Despite being treated as canon, [[Creator/KeijiInafune the former head of the franchise]] has vehemently insisted this is not the case, and there's been some canon evidence that the classic cast is still alive in the X timeline.[[note]]For example, in the UpdatedRerelease of ''VideoGame/MegaManX3'', Auto can be seen in a building in one of the cutscenes.[[/note]]

** During the earlier arcs, David Anez toyed with the idea that Mega Man actually ''was'' ObfuscatingStupidity the whole time. As in "I was always smarter than I seemed. I just wanted to screw with my enemies." However, David eventually decided that this idea would severely hurt the main source of comedy (Seeing Mega Man act like an idiot when you know he's not just isn't as funny) and made him a genuine idiot who would only act smart when in fighting mode.

** "The Waiting" is the title of both [[http://www.bobandgeorge.com/archives/000830 a comic in "The Attack on Dr. Wily"]] (in which Dr. Wily waits for Mega Man's arrival after the defeat of the Robot Masters of the first game) and [[http://www.bobandgeorge.com/archives/001030 a comic in "Just Another Day"]] (in which Proto Man anticipates the Author's impending arrival in an already crazy storyline).

* OneOfUs: David Anez uses the term "Lampshading" and he [[http://www.bobandgeorge.com/archives/011103c linked this site]] in his commentary during the "Attack of Mynd" arc.

** Bob and Georges last name being Anderson after a Matrix joke. Some fans thought it was catchy and the Author decided to keep for lack of any better suggestions.

** As anyone who's read at least a year into the comic can tell, Anez's original plan for the comic was to turn it into a hand-drawn superhero/sitcom hybrid revolving around the titular characters. A brief summary of how it would've turned out is extensively shown at the end of the seventh year.

* PermanentPlaceholder: Originally, the adventures of the various {{Megaman}} characters were just a placeholder for the author's actual webcomic, but eventually the sprites ended up running for almost 7 years, and the title characters ended up part of the sprite comic.

** The explanation for Mega Man's CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass behavior came about after some fans pointed out an earlier strip that indirectly/inadvertently gave an explanation. Dave Anez liked it and made it canon.

* PermanentPlaceholder: The main title theme was a scratch recording. Originally played and sung by Pendleton Ward, in the background you can hear storyboard artist Derek Drymon typing on a keyboard and squeaking his chair. Ward attempted to get a better recording of the theme song but couldn't ever capture the feeling quite right ever again, so the scratch recording stayed.
