** There's also [[{{BirthBySleep}} Vanitas]], {{the Dragon}} to Master Xehanort and the only {{boss}} in the game fought roughly ''seven times'' across all three stories. And to most people, he's ThatOneBoss almost every single time.

[[spoiler:Until it's revealed that Ghetsis is really the BigBad and is using N as ''his'' Dragon.]] Ghetsis and N also both use a literal Dragon type Pokemon as the strongest member of their respective teams during their final battles against the player, with N's dragon ([[spoiler: Reshiram in ''White'' and Zekrom in ''Black'']]) filling an important story role and essentially serving as his main weapon/form of tranport.

** Let's not forget Maleficent, the Dragon to [[spoiler:[[TheManBehindTheMan Ansem]], although she herself was unaware of it.]] Ironic that when he did reveal himself, she literally turned herself into a Dragon. Before that, ''her'' Dragon was [[PeterPan Captain Hook]], then it was [[RivalTurnedEvil Riku]]. In [=KH2=], with limited resources, she has to settle for [[TooDumbToLive Pete]] as her permanent Dragon.

** Well as far as [=CoM=] goes, the Orgy members pretty much have QuirkyMinibossSquad covered, while Axel is visually TheDragon for Marluxia till you realise he's a DoubleAgent. (Meaning ''Larxene'' is more of TheDragon for Marluxia) It's a fair call to say Saix takes up the mantle in KHII. There were some implications in ''358/2 days'' that Saix perhaps wasn't moved up in the ranks.

* In the freeware game ''CaveStory'', Misery serves as the Dragon to the ''BigBad'', the Doctor, and she and Balrog form a ''QuirkyMinibossSquad'' of sorts, most of the quirkiness coming from Balrog. Misery, however, doesn't have any real loyalty towards the Doctor, and she and Balrog [[spoiler:are simply bound to serve the wearer of the Demon Crown. In the hidden best ending of the game, she sends Balrog to save Quote and Curly from certain death after they destroy the source of the Crown's power.]]

** [[spoiler:Captain Qwark]] to Chairman Drek in ''Game/RatchetAndClank''.

* In the ''VideoGame/StreetFighterII'' series, Sagat was portrayed as M. Bison's right-hand man within Shadaloo. However, the later ''Street Fighter Alpha'' prequels established that Sagat wasn't really that close to Bison and only joined since Bison promised him he would fight Ryu again in a rematch. In ''StreetFighterAlpha 3'', Balrog serves as M. Bison's main henchman, with Juni and Juli also fulfilling this role.

* [[spoiler:Ren and Tlatchtga]] serve as dragons for [[spoiler:Visil]] in ''EtrianOdyssey''.

* ''FinalFantasyVIII'' has a chain of dragons: Raijin and Fujin act as Dragons for Seifer, Seifer is Dragon to Sorceress Edea.
** Arguably, you could say they were all Dragons for Ultimecia in the end too.
* In ''{{Fallout 3}}'', Colonel Augustus Autumn is the Dragon for President John Henry Eden, leader of the Enclave. However, Autumn actually turns against Eden towards the end of the game, and as he was the commander of the Enclave's military, his loyal soldiers defect with him. Awesome.
* FinalFantasyIX shows Queen Brahne as the BigBad, with Kuja as her dragon, [[spoiler: though, because [[DragonWithAnAgenda he has different motives]], she is technically his (unwitting) dragon, too, as Kuja 'delegates' to her the task of waging war on Gaia. Eventually, Brahne decides [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness he has outlived his purpose]] and tries to [[SlapOnTheWristNuke Bahamut]] his arse. In return, he becomes TheStarscream good and proper.]] Towards the end, it is [[TheReveal revealed]] that [[spoiler: Kuja is in fact also the dragon to Garland, the game's true BigBad. Because Garland anticipated Kuja pulling something like this, he gave him a lifespan to outlive, which is the thing that really [[SelfFulfillingProphecy threw him over the edge]] and made him work his way his way to being the BigBad.]]
** On a similar note, [[spoiler: [[TheHero Zidane]] was actually built to be Garland's second [[ApocalypseMaiden angel of death]], except Kuja, fearing being replaced abandoned him on Earth, making Zidane the dragon that was not to be.]]

** [[spoiler:Kain]] is TheDragon to Golbez before [[spoiler:Zemus]] pulls a ManBehindTheMan.

* Subverted in ''FinalFantasyVI'', where Kefka, who had appeared as The Dragon up to that point, pulls a [[TheStarscream Starscream]] halfway through the game and becomes the BigBad himself.
** Heck, if you wanna get technical, Kefka also has a Dragon. [[spoiler:10 of them. 8 Elemental Dragons, Phunbaba- a boogieman who destroys the towns he visits -, and Doomgaze, who is essentially a flying laser of death.]]
*** Actually, none of those are Kefka's dragons. They're just released from their imprisonment when he demolishes the world.
** The three-tier boss fight you face before him - Visage and its arms, Machine, Magic, Tiger and Power, Lady and Rest - could be considered his Dragon.
*** You could also argue that the Warring Triad unwillingly become his Dragons after he becomes the BigBad.
** Kefka doesn't really have a Dragon. Kefka doesn't ''need'' a Dragon. He spends the first part of the game [[DragonWithAnAgenda working for someone else]] and when he graduates to BigBad [[spoiler:he's already pulled off a Class 1 ApocalypseHow all by himself.]] There's [[strike:almost]] no villainous character who could potentially match him in strength or cunning in-universe, and who does he need to enforce his will when he does it damn fine himself? Hell, he doesn't even have an army or organization--the monsters running around are just monsters.

* Bodhi to Irenicus in ''[=~Baldur's Gate~=] II: Shadows of Amn''. Once you've got past her and get to follow Irenicus to the almost-final area, he also pulls out a literal dragon in his service you have to deal with before getting to him.
** In the sequel ''[=~Baldur's Gate~=] II: Throne of Bhaal'', Draconis is Abazigal's dragon (again, literally). Odd in that, as Draconis is also Abazigal's son, Abazigal is himself a dragon. (And it may be argued that all five of the mini bosses of the expansion are dragons to the expansion's BigBad, [[spoiler:Amelisan.]]

* ''GrandiaII''. You first fight the core of the UltimateEvil in its own body, get your team halved by the body breaking apart, just to fight the BigBad [[AntiClimaxBoss ...who transformed into a gigantic flower/butterfly, weak enough to be poked to death by the]] StaffChick.

* In the ''StreetFighterII'' series, Sagat was portrayed as M. Bison's right-hand man within Shadaloo.
