* When there's an aggressive fight between two Miis, and a third fails to help them make up. Especially if they're dating or married, as at this point, breaking up/divorce is imminent. The Mii who intervened will look on very disappointed that their plan failed.
** Stronger points for if the third Mii was the best friend of one of the fighters, and is upset that he/she will never make up with the opposite Mii who is now no longer a friend.

** Speaking of divorces, unless the very most recently married couple is the one divorcing and until someone else gets married, you'll be reminded of the moment every time you see the missing chunk in the housing district. Rest in peace, house.
** It's also rather saddening that no other Miis, even ''the children of the Miis looking to divorce'', can't help in preventing the divorce, or appear in person and try to cheer up the divorced Miis and perhaps encourage a re-marriage.

It seems to be less of a security measure (since you can check it in the same menu that has the "delete save data" button) than to make your farewell meaningful. And when you do, you have to go to the HOME menu and quit before restarting. Maybe the game runs its own personal funeral...
* A Mii's desperate cries of "I need to eat something! ''Anything''!" can trigger people who are afraid of starvation, or just worried that they're neglecting that Mii.
* When a Mii gets rejected.

The DissonantSerenity (unless they are a PerpetualFrowner) makes this worse and can imply certain things about the Mii's past before moving to the island.
