* The entire parting between Daisuke and Gon is merciless. Not only has the show just spent two episodes on a whole betrayal and reconcilation arc between the two after they have a falling out and Daisuke rescues her from ZECT... we then actually find her mother. Daisuke fights to save them from a Worm, and after defeating it, stops by while in Clock Over mode to see Gon (Yuriko) tearfully happy to see her mother - and actually catches one of her tears in Clock Up mode before he just turns and leaves them. And then a few days later, he meets them on the street, and Yuriko doesn't recognize him. Her mother tries to remind her, but Daisuke just says that there's no need, and she was simply so cute he couldn't help but call out to her, trying one of his many compliments again... and being unable to finish it without her helping him. It's heartbreaking all around, even if you are happy to see her reunited with her mother.]

* Dark Kabuto's HeroicSacrifice in the finale... Japanese households must have ran out of Kleenex when the kids watched that scene [[WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids on TV Asahi's SUNDAY KIDS BLOCK]]. Made worse by that fact that it was [[StupidSacrifice totally pointless,]] since Negishi was just a regular Native and the Riders could have easily destroyed him. Then FirdgeHorror kicks in and you realize he was basically just committing suicide.

* When Tendou finds out that his sister Hiyori [[spoiler:is in fact a Native that prefers to be with Souji's Worm mimic,]] he draws dangerously close to [[HeroicBSOD abandoning his battle against the Worms altogether.]]

* [[spoiler:Tsurugi]] turning into the Scorpio Worm in front of Misaki was not only scary but [[FridgeHorror also depressing when you realize that this]] killed any hopes for [[DidNotGetTheGirl him to get the girl.]]

* [[spoiler: Tsurugi]] realizing the truth not only about himself, but also [[spoiler:how he killed his sister when he was still the Scorpio Worm.]]
** The result? [[HeroicBSOD He tears his gifts to Misaki, throws away a Christmas cake, and breaks down at a beach.]] He then believes that the only way to get over this tragic discovery is [[DrivenToSuicide to kill himself]] by pretending to [[FaceHeelTurn become hellbent on destroying ZECT.]] Boy does it suck to be [[spoiler: Tsurugi.]]
** It's even worse if you remember that Kagami knew all this time that [[spoiler:Tsurugi]] was a Worm and yet never told Misaki when he was going out with her.

** The worst part? This heartbreaking monologue came just as Hyper Kabuto was preparing [[spoiler:to finish Tsurugi despite Misaki's pleas to keep him alive]]. Then Tendou told her afterwards that [[spoiler:that's what Tsurugi wanted him to do to him.]] What makes this all the worse is that [[spoiler: ''[[TheStoic Tendou]]'' [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness of all people]] ''hesitated''. It took Tsurugi reminding him about the promise that the two made for him to finish Tsurugi off]].
** And last, but certainly not least, [[spoiler: Tsurugi]] dies in [[spoiler: his butler Jiiya's]] arms. The last exchange between the two? "Is it okay for me to dream?" "Of course. Please don't worry about a thing. [[spoiler: Jiiya]] will always be by your side."

* Flashbacks show that [[spoiler:Dark Kabuto being converted into a Native and forced into brutal experimentation by Mishima]] WHEN HE WAS JUST A YOUNG BOY.
* When you think it couldn't get any worse, [[spoiler:Kageyama kicks the bucket]] promising to be by his [[HoYay Aniki's]] side... Damn.
** It's even more depressing when it was [[spoiler:Yaguruma that had to kill Kageyama]] with his [[FinishingMove Rider Kick]] when [[spoiler:Kageyama's necklace turns him into a Native.]]
