* All three cases of [[PollutedWasteland The Wastes]] are tearjerkers. First one's victim was just trying to stop the killer from doing experiments that can destroy the city. Secondly, [[spoiler: Karen Knight]] is murdered, and while we hated [[spoiler: her]], [[spoiler: she]] was good, all along, and helping us. And the last case has [[spoiler: our beloved partner, Frank Knigh]] as the victim. And it is the last case as well, so say your goodbyes to Pacific Bay.

* Case 56 of Pacific Bay is entitled "A Killer Among Us". The case name is pretty much enough to cry, but to give more details, 4 team members are suspects with [[spoiler: Frank Knight]] is tge killer.

** It's even worse when it's revealed that [[spoiler: the cop had killed his partner in the heat of the moment, and he was extremely upset for doing so. He regretted leaving his partner's children without a father, and having to spend time in jail meant that he'd also be away from his family.]]

* Some murders are AccidentalMurder, and at times, the murderers genuinely regret their deed. Some of them were even crying or look saddened when they're arrested, such as the murderer in Case 48 for Grimsborough.

Jones is upset and goes ItsPersonal the entire case, [[spoiler:knowing that despite Rachel was incredibly nosy, stubborn, troublesome, and a little callous to her co-workers in several previous cases, he knows that she's a loyal and diligent defender of justice whose death is largely because of her cameraman sold her life work to her murderer]].
