* In the ''VideoGame/DevilMayCry'' series, Sparda, Dante, Vergil and Nero have recurring physical traits that run in the family, such as white hair and blue eyes. Dante and Vergil are identical twins as well, at least in the early games; in ''VideoGame/DevilMayCry5'', they no longer share the same face models. Oftentimes, the characters also [[YouRemindMeOfX remark on the resemblance]] between the younger generation and the older one, such as in the ''Deadly Fortune'' novel of ''VideoGame/DevilMayCry4'' when Dante notes that Nero has the same look in his eyes as Vergil did.

* In ''VideoGame/RatchetAndClankFutureACrackInTime'', Alister Azimuth instantly recognizes Ratchet as his late friend's son by the fact that [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kadenratchetcomparison_5190.JPG he looks almost like his teenage clone]]. Afterwards, Azimuth continues to dwell almost obsessively on the similarities, to the point that he occasionally seems to assume they're the same Lombax -- or gets irritated by the fact that they're ''not''.

* ''VideoGame/StarFox'': Fox [=McCloud=] looks a ''lot'' like his father James. James (At least in ''VideoGame/{{Star Fox 64}}'') had darker fur and a slightly narrower head, but other than that... They dress the same too, save for Fox eschewing his father's trademark of wearing sunglasses. On those occasions when Fox ''does'' don shades they look near identical.

** This is also present to a lesser extent with [[http://goldensun.wikia.com/wiki/File:GSGaret.jpg Garet]] and [[http://goldensun.wikia.com/wiki/File:GSDDTerrell.jpg Tyrell]], another father-son pair.

** While it's not as extreme as Matthew or even Tyrell, both of Mia's children bear a strong resemblance to her. This led to some [[ViewerGenderConfusion confusion]] with her son. Notably, [[spoiler: Rief also resembles Amiti]].

*** Roy from ''The Binding Blade'' and the teenage version of his father Eliwood from ''The Blazing Blade'' look strikingly similar to the point of being nearly identical; it doesn't help that they even wear almost the same clothes, and it takes looking up their full official artwork to see any significant difference between them. Pretty much the biggest difference is that Eliwood was taller, thinner and wore longer sleeves, neither of which can really be gleaned from in-game appearances.

*** Interestingly subverted in the case of Roy's best friend Wolt... whose design, first seen in ''The Binding Blade'', actually served as the basis for the ''three'' guys that his mother Rebecca can marry in ''The Blazing Blade''. Looking at his in-game appearance and checking on his dialogue, the boy has the haircut and fighting style of [[ChildhoodFriendRomance Wil]], the hair color and personality of [[ShrinkingViolet Lowen]], ''and'' the eyes and facial structure of [[ChivalrousPervert Sain]].

** ''VideoGame/HarvestMoonTreeOfTranquility'' and ''VideoGame/HarvestMoonAnimalParade'' do this for some of the rival kids and your own children. While some of the rival kids (like Heath and Angie) have a plausible combination of their parents' features, [[https://fogu.com/hm/animal_parade/rival_kids.php others are less subtle.]; for example, Vivian (the daughter of Gill and Luna) is more or less her father Gill in miniature, only with longer hair. Your own kids will also look ''exactly like you'', only (in ''Animal Parade'') with [[PatchworkKids your spouse's hair and eye color.]]

** [[spoiler:Alistair]] of ''VideoGame/DragonAgeOrigins'' has a face very similar to that of his [[spoiler:half-brother Cailan]]. Depending on how the player opts to resolve the country's SuccessionCrisis, this may be lampshaded by Anora, who is uncomfortable with the idea of [[spoiler:marrying Alistair, because he looks so much like her dead husband]]. And, if the cover of The Stolen Throne book is a hint, they both resemble their father Maric.
*** While not shown, NPC dialogue implies that the City Elf Warden bears a great resemblance to their mother Adaia.
*** In the Human Noble Origin, big brother Fergus looks a good deal like father Bryce.

* ''VideoGame/HarvestMoon'':
** ''VideoGame/HarvestMoonTreeOfTranquility'' and ''VideoGame/HarvestMoonAnimalParade'' do this for some of the rival kids and your own children. While some of the rival kids (like Heath and Angie) have a plausible combination of their parents' features, others are... less subtle. ** A milder example is in the ''VideoGame/HarvestMoonAWonderfulLife'' series, where your son always inherits their hair and eye color from whoever you marry. In the [[DistaffCounterpart girl version]], at least, Takakura mentions that your son is "the spitting image" of your husband. In ''Special Edition'' you can have a daughter but she will always resemble the protagonist. [[WhatCouldHaveBeen Originally]] she was meant to take after your wife however due to time constraints they only used one general design for her amongst the four bachelorettes.
** ''VideoGame/HarvestMoon1'' and ''VideoGame/HarvestMoon64'' are two of the few direct sequels in the franchise, the latter taking place two generations after the former with only a senior Ellen being the surviving character from the original. Nina (who already greatly resembled her mom) has a daughter named Lillian who looks strikingly similar to her, and Lilian had Popuri who is a mini version of her. Maria is essentially SNES!Maria with a different hairstyle and glasses, and the original Maria resembled her mom a lot. Ann, Gray, and Rick are all redheads related to Ann from the first game. Ellen is essentially her grandmother when she was younger, and her grandmother had more than a passing resemblance to her mom (just significantly thinner). Only Karen and her mother don't resemblance Eve, though Karen's blonde bangs come from Eve. The protagonist is even a copy of his grandfather, down to the clothes.

*** Impa in ''VideoGame/HyruleWarriorsAgeOfCalamity'', the prequel to ''Breath of the Wild'' that takes place 100 years before, looks almost completely identical to her granddaughter, Paya, back in the day.

* In ''VideoGame/PotionPermit'', Lucke and Laura both inherit their mother Mercy's dark skin, brown hair, and light blue eyes.

** Most characters with biological family introduced on-screen fit this trope: Jamil with younger sister Najma, Epel - grandmother Marya, Malleus - [[spoiler:mother Meleanor]].

* ''VideoGame/TwistedWonderland'': [[spoiler:Silver]] and his father [[spoiler:the Knight of Dawn]] have the same body shape, the same animation cycles, the same facial features and even the same ''voice actor''. [[spoiler:Silver was even born with the same hair color as his father too, until it was [[PowerDyesYourHair bleached white by Lilia's blessing]].]]

** ''VideoGame/PokemonLegendsArceus'' has a slew of characters of varying age degrees who heavily resemble characters from present titles who are heavily implied to be their descendants. {{Irony}} comes up when these ancestors behave the complete opposite of their descendants, and sometimes there are cases of DistaffCounterpart.

** The mother often resembles at least one of the player characters. Ethan and Kris from ''VideoGame/PokemonGoldAndSilver'' look like their Gen II mother, and Lyra looks like the remake redesign of her. May from ''VideoGame/PokemonRubyAndSapphire'' looks like both the Hoenn mother and Professor Birch (the rival's father), and Brendan looks like Norman (the protagonist's father) in the original but like a tanned Birch in the remakes (due to his brown hair). Dawn from ''VideoGame/PokemonDiamondAndPearl'' looks like a younger version of her mom with longer hair, and Lucas looks like her but with a darker shade of hair. Hilda from ''VideoGame/PokemonBlackAndWhite'' is a younger version of her mother, while both protagonists in ''VideoGame/PokemonBlack2AndWhite2'' resemble their mother. Serena in ''VideoGame/PokemonXAndY'' resembles the mother, though not to the degree of the other protagonists. Subverted in ''VideoGame/PokemonSunAndMoon'', where neither protagonist really resembles their mother at all.

** ''VideoGame/PokemonSunAndMoon'' features Professor Oak's cousin Samson Oak, who looks just like the original but with longer hair, a darker complexion and more colorful clothing. Lillie shares her hair and eye color with the rest of the members of her family [[spoiler:-- her brother Gladion, mother Lusamine, and father Mohn]].

** Illoe is mentioned to resemble her [[MissingMoom missing birth mom]], while her stepbrother Brah has black hair and dark skin like his mother Daari.

** While Zeda, Touk, and Vallah all have the same shade of brown skin, the latter two have the same black hair.

* In ''LoveAndPies'', Kate is like a miniature version of her mother Amelia, sporting the same hot pink hair and blue eyes as her.

** Marz's hair, which is half-black and half-blue, takes after her [[HasTwoDaddies fathers']] hair colors, which she [[HomosexualReproduction inherited]] [[MrSeahorse biologically]] thanks to the colony's surrogacy program. Her eye color is also a combination of Al's blue eyes and Bernie's red ones.

** Marz's hair, which is half-black and half-blue, takes after [[HasTwoDaddies her fathers']] hair colors. Whether this is because of HomosexualReproduction thanks to the colony's surrogacy program and advanced genetic engineering, or if she dyed her hair that way is unknown. However, her eye color is combination of Al's blue eyes and Bernie's red ones.

** Marz's hair, which is half-black and half-blue, takes after [[HasTwoDaddies her fathers']] hair colors. Whether this is because of HomosexualReproduction thanks to the colony's surrogacy program, or if she dyed her hair that way is unknown.

** ''VideoGame/FireEmblemPathOfRadiance'' and its sequel ''VideoGame/FireEmblemRadiantDawn'' also have this with Ike, Mist, and Soren. Ike and Mist both resemble their same-sex parent while inheriting the opposite-sex parent's hair color. For his part, Soren looks like a younger, male version of [[spoiler:his mother Almedha from ''Radiant Dawn'', and even in ''Path of Radiance'', it was already obvious that Soren had a very strong resemblance to Kurthnaga, the prince of Goldoa, and Rajaion, Ena's fiancé, both of whom were revealed in the next game to be Soren's maternal uncles]].
