*** The general reasoning is that Tien is a ChasteHero who can't give into worldly things like romance since training is more important. However one of the data books revealed he did eventually (somehow) settles down with Launch in the future. Toriyama however has a contradicting statement which [[ShipSink sinks]] the pairing.

*** There is the odd dynamic of Anzu crushing on Yami (Yugi's "alter-ego") and Yugi crushing on Anzu, not to mention plenty of Jonouchi/Mai.

*** There are also hints between Vector and Vanilla, with Vector having a crush on Vanilla.

* Despite Sega's stance on the whole thing, ''Anime/SonicX'' had ship teasing moments towards Sonic and Amy to the point where, at the end of episode 52 (which was supposed to have been the end of the series), had a returning Sonic present Amy a flower with the latter demanding him to just say something about them. He does... but it's silenced out, so it's unknown what he said.

* ''Manga/DGrayMan''.
** Allen and Lenalee: Where to start with these two? Lenalee goes into a HeroicBSOD when it was presumed Allen died. When the Earl was about to kill her, Allen performs a BigDamnHeroes, reappearing to her the first time since she thought he was dead. Later we get a SleepCute moment. A similar BeautifulDreamer moment happens off-screen when Lenalee fell asleep waiting for Allen to wake up. And not to mention the tearful farewell in chapter 205 when Allen hugs Lenalee and tells her that he loves her ... and everyone else.
** Miranda and Noise during the Destruction of the Black Order arc where the infected Miranda proceeds to bite Noise in the throat, causing him to blush before he realized what happened.
** In one chapter, Kanda drinks [[spoiler:his Innocence]] from Lenalee's hand. Komui was ''not'' pleased.
** Rhode is the first person to kiss Allen on the lips and she takes every opportunity to glomp or flirt with him. And then [[spoiler: she and Tyki]] arrived to rescue Allen from [[spoiler: Apocryphos]], including TakingTheBullet for Allen.
** For disguised herself as Rohfa to speak with Allen after he was discouraged that he wasn't able to regenerate his Innocence and they had an AlmostKiss before the real Rohfa appeared. She goes on to take his appearance to buy him enough time to escape from the attacking Akuma.
** On the other side, For and Bak too. She teased Bak by saying she liked him at one point, only to immediately punch him and say she was lying (while blushing). And when the two of them thought they would be killed by the Level 3 Akuma, Bak held For close.
** And there's the HoYay such as Allen's constant bickering with Kanda, who seems to be the only person who manages to piss him off to the point where Allen breaks his AllLovingHero persona and makes vindictive jabs at him. Also isn't helped with the fact that all their petty arguments are like those of a bickering couple's...
*** The above example makes the ship even stronger when you connect it to chapter 204 when Cross informs us that Allen being all polite is just a mask. This means that Kanda brings out Allen's true self quicker than anyone else, considering Cross implied he tried for a long time to break Allen's Mana mask and get Allen to be rude to him. For Kanda to be able to do so at any given time says a lot about their relationship.
*** They even act nice to one another from time to time, such as the moment where Kanda smiles at Allen.
*** Chapter 199: Kanda actually thanks Allen. He even calls him by his full name instead of "bean sprout."
*** Now with chapter 209 having Kanda accompanying Johnny to find a missing Allen, it becomes a bit of an 'aww, they do care' moment.
*** And in chapter 211 Kanda actually straddles and holds Allen down to the ground when trying to wipe his clown makeup off and talking to him.
*** In chapter 213, Kanda's declaration towards Link makes him sound like a yandere for Allen.
*** Way back in the earlier chapters, both come to the others rescue a lot and Allen once carries an injured Kanda.

* While [[WordOfGod Narita states]] that he never has and probably never will consider a romantic relationship between Shizuo and Izaya in ''Literature/{{Durarara}}'', he does have a habit of teasing the ship with hints that range from possibly unintentional (Shizuo and Izaya share the same birthdates as ''each other's'' voice actors) to suspect (Izaya says in a Drama CD that he saw Shizuo sleeping once and [[BeautifulDreamer thought he was kinda cute]]) to deliberate (Erika [[ShipperOnDeck ships them together]]), to just plain screwing with the fangirls (he wrote [[http://hi.baidu.com/datacat/blog/item/52c6cbfb1c700b68024f5610.html Shizuo/Izaya porn in an April Fools story]]. [[spoiler:It was actually a fight from the perspective of Erika's ShippingGoggles]].)

* At the beginning, ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'' had very little ship tease in the manga, except for comedy moments and SliceOfLife omakes. WordOfGod has stated that the manga isn't a romance manga and confirmed that Rukia and Ichigo [[PlatonicLifePartners are very close but have never been romantically interested in one another]], though he went on to note that "[[AuthorsSavingThrow those feelings may change]]". That said, there is a lot of ShipTease in the anime, with anime endings sometimes hinting at Ichigo/Rukia (2, 16, 19), or Ichigo/Orihime (15, 18); the anime tends to focus on the former while the manga is, less consistently, biased to the latter.
** A recurring joke in the Substitute Soul Reaper arc was for people to assume that Rukia was Ichigo's girlfriend, due to their many hushed, private conversations (about Hollows). Many of the color pages notably pair the two up as well, sometimes in intimate ways. These often get used in the openings and endings for the anime, sometimes with other characters edited out to really emphasize their closeness.
*** The movie, ''Bleach: Fade to Black'', is chock-full of [=IchiRuki=] content, with the voice actors for the characters encouraging fans to take their partners to see it, and even describing Ichigo and Rukia as having "an amorous feeling" for each other. Though the film's canon status is dubious, Kubo was heavily involved in it, even giving it the subtitle ''I Call Your Name'' as a reference to Ichigo dramatically calling out Rukia's name.

** Erza used to shower with Gray and Natsu and cares a lot for them, but is made out to have romantic feelings for Jellal that might be returned. In fact the two might have have shared a kiss before Jellal decides to try (and fail) to sink their ship for the sake of their happiness. Erza's definitely shared a kiss with Kagura, but how she feels about th at is unclear. [[spoiler:At the end of the manga, it's implied something is happening between Erza and Jellal.]]
** Juvia had a stalker crush on Gray which eventually evolved to the point where something may or may not be going on between them, and views Lucy as her rival in love.

** There's also the little bit with Sherry and Lyon, which was about as subtle as Juvia's crush on Gray-or the equally hilarious crush Lyon develops for Juvia-before Sherry developed another relationship with Ren. In the meantime, Lyon has thought of Meredy as cute, though he still seems to be attracted to Juvia.

** Fairy Tail is the only guild with some ShipTease. Yukino and Sting of Sabertooth get get some major shipping in the spinoff manga, Twin Dragons Of Sabertooth.

*** Hell the anime was shipping them as early as Enies Lobby as [[https://66.media.tumblr.com/e8e6fdf626944ab9437e5664e4501822/tumblr_inline_oz88432Er11qfwj8t_500.gif Franky catches Robin in his arms when she’s falling]] and both smile at each other before Franky puts her down

*** The justification was Luffy was tying to escape Katakuri in the Mirror World at the time so seeing Brûlée who has power [[MirrorMonster over mirrors]] made Luffy delighted at the opportunity, this didn’t dissuade fans however.
* In Wano Zoro has Ship Teasing with Hiyori who is [[DirtyKid Momonosuke]]'s [[TimeyWimeyBall 20 year]] old younger sister, Zoro [[https://12dimension.files.wordpress.com/2019/05/one_piece_ch941_p010-e1557271118892.jpg?w=640&h=497 even sleeps in the same bed as her]] and saves her from ninjas later. It's strongly implied she has a crush on him. She even later gives him her father's sword which was handed down to her specifically upon his death.

* Taichi/Sora was probably the largest straight ship in the Western fandom thanks to their teasing in ''Our War Game!'' and the English dub putting in a lot of tease that wasn't originally there - until it got [[ShipSinking blown to pieces]]. WordOfGod has stated that [[OfficialCouple Yamato/Sora was planned from the start]] and that Taichi/Sora was never a possibility with the teasing in ''Our War Game!'' being the result of a communication error with director Mamoru Hosoda. This didn't stop the writers from [[YankTheDogsChain yanking the chain]] of Taiora shippers in subsequent instalments of the series.
** The English dub latched on to Taiora early on, adding a lot of flirting and other DubText. It's notable that there is no ShipTease for Tai/Sora in the original Japanese versions of ''Adventure'' and ''02'' which goes to show you how drastically different the characterizations are thanks to Nimoy's writing. He himself admitted to [[FanPreferredCouple preferring Tai/Sora]] so he [[WriterOnBoard emphasized it in the dub]].

* ''Anime/TheIdolmaster'' - A good portion of the second half of the anime has this with several of the girls, particularly when the girl is the focus of the episode.
