The latest ''[[WesternAnimation/TheItchyAndScratchyShow Itchy & Scratchy Show]]'' short, "The Last Traction Hero", ends with the cat-and-mouse duo BreakingTheFourthWall to invite viewers to their new theme park, "The most violentest place on Earth", Itchy & Scratchy Land. Bart and Lisa waste no time in asking Marge to take them there on vacation, but Marge has already planned a perfectly fine trip to a bird sanctuary. The kids manage to convince their parents that they will enjoy the park too, but Marge makes everyone (including Homer) promises her that they will do nothing to embarrass her on the trip.

After an eventful road trip, the family begins to explore Itchy & Scratchy Land -- a world of myriad gift shops, robot parades, and ride-filled pavillions like Explosion Land and Searing Gas Pain Land. The party eventually splits up, with Homer and Marge enjoying the clubs on Parents Island, Bart and Lisa riding the terrifying log flume again, and Maggie being left to her own devices in a baby care center ball pit. Neither Homer and Bart, however, can resist physically tormenting the performers in I&S character suits, and both are hauled into a brig by park security. Marge is horrifically embarrassed when she's paged on the overhead speaker system to retrieve them.

But matters only worsen from here -- the parade robots have malfunctioned and are running amok in the park. (Representing Itchy & Scratchy themselves, they are supposed to only maim each other with their axes, mallets, etc., but are now mistaking guests for "enemy" robots.) Homer and company try to join the other guests being evacuated by helicopter, but are forced back by one of the Itchy performers, who recognizes the troublemakers. As the robots close in, the Simpsons discover that camera flashes completely scramble their programming and render them harmless; they loot a camera shop and manage to save themselves. Although Marge agrees with the kids that the trip accomplished her goals of family togetherness and exercise, she insists that no one speak of the best family vacation they've ever had again.
