Dr. Mephesto doesn't get any pleasure from putting him down and Terrance shouts a BigNo when he dies (if only because now he doesn't have a clone for the science project).

Shelley never gets caught or punished for beating up Stan or and torturing Stan, nor does she see the error of her ways. The episode ends with her still continuing to bully him with no signs of that stopping anytime soon.soon.
** Though he loses his human clone and loses the science fair against Kyle, Terrance doesn't face any onscreen punishment for releasing the unstable Stan clone, causing it to spread mayhem on South Park and almost getting Stan arrested for it. He even gets a five-assed monkey for the contest (which loses).
** Garrison is never caught for having sex with Cartman's pig and getting her pregnant, saving face by immediately electing the offspring as the winner of the science fair in exchange for the boys not asking any questions.

* HateSink:
** Shelley is a violent BigSisterBully who makes Stan terrified of being at home alone, rightfully so. She's so cruel to him that one of her scenes had to be cut because it was too violent. Her only PetTheDog moment (sticking up for him in front of his parents when they blame him for the mayhem his clone caused) is done to ensure that he keeps on being hers to torment. Though she has some comical moments (due to how over-the-top her torturing of Stan is), she's one of the most detestable characters in the entire first season.
** Terrance Mephesto is the insufferable son of Dr. Mephesto, who forces his father to create him a human clone just to upstage Kyle's "pot-bellied elephant" idea, taking every opportunity he has to rub his progress on Kyle's face. When his father deems the clone too unstable to use, Terrance throws a fit and releases it, causing it to wreck havoc on the town. When confronted by his father, Terrance says that [[LackOfEmpathy "they're all stupid anyway"]] and goes off to try and take back his clone.

Added DiffLines:

* JerkassHasAPoint: After accidentally unleashing Stan's clone unto South Park, Terrance Mephesto simply dismisses everyone in town as stupid and shows no remorse for the havoc it causes. Irresponsible as this is, this is the same town that [[SlaveToPR prioritized being on TV]] over [[Recap/SouthParkS1E2WeightGain4000 an attempted assassination]] and [[Recap/SouthParkS1E3Volcano a volcano threat]], so his disdain for them isn't unwarranted. Future seasons will prove him even more right in hindsight.

* OffModel: One portion of the cafeteria scene suddenly reverts to the paper cut-out style used in the pilot. This is due to the fact that it was a recycled scene from the unaired version of the pilot, and the creators decided to place it in this episode.

At the end of the episode though, Fluffy the pig gives birth, but [[BestialityIsDepraved the piglet looks more like Mr. Garrison than it does an elephant]].

It was removed so late in production that a puddle still inexplicably appears underneath Stan after she's thrown him. Comedy Central censors had ordered the scene cut out of fear of a repeat of the ''WesternAnimation/BeavisAndButthead''-"little kid plays with fire and his parents blame the show for it" controversy. The missing scene has been shown on some overseas cuts of the show and has cropped up once or twice on Website/YouTube, but it's currently missing. The HD remaster (which is the version shown on HBO Max) doesn't reinstate the scene and instead removes the inexplicable puddle.

** During one of his rants, Cartman mentions his mom "having sex with some guy I don't even know, on my dad's bed," indicating that at this stage the creators still envisioned Cartman having a father, as he did in the unaired pilot. about -- which, fortunately, he actually did in enough other Season 1 episodes (most notably his rant about rainbows biting the inside of his ass in "Weight Gain 4000") that it can be written off as just some early quirk of Cartman's rather than an actual ContinuitySnarl.
