* CoolBigSis: Weiss certainly considers Winter to be this, and while Winter is a bit cold, she inquires about how Weiss is doing, when Weiss starts talking about how she is doing in school, Winter slaps her upside the head and clarifies she is more interested in how Weiss is doing outside of school.

* JerkassHasAPoint: Qrow is pretty hostile to both Winter and Ironwood but he does make good points about them. His accusations about the Atlesian military seeing themselves as better than everyone else aren't exactly debunked by Winter losing her temper over his comments. He also points out that Ironwood did go behind Ozpin's back, albeit out of perceived necessity rather than power hunger as Qrow believes. Qrow is also absolutely correct that for all of Ironwood's talk of trust and communication he isn't exactly practicing what he preaches.

Then as she fights with Qrow, she misses more than twice as many strikes of her own in the first few seconds, which is implied to be the result of her being angered.

* CrypticConversation: The entire conversation between Qrow, Ironwood, Ozpin, and Glinda is full of references to context the audience doesn't yet know about. Qrow says that the infiltrator (Cinder) is the one responsible for "Autumn's condition." Who or what Autumn is and what said condition is are left unsaid. Ozpin emphasizes the importance of finding a "Guardian" and that a Guardian is a "symbol of comfort." But again, there is no elaboration on what that means. Then, of course, their's Qrow's wonderfully ominous line...

** This also applies to to Qrow and Ironwood's argument. Ironwood's efforts were in response to Ozpin's less forceful approach backfiring while Qrow is correct that his more direct efforts have done nothing to dissuade Cinder's group form their course of action.

Ironwood feels that an open display of military might will give people a feeling of safety (which, besides the usual benefits of high morale, [[ClapYourHandssIfYouBelieve also makes Grimm less dangerous]]), while Ozpin's more subtle approach would have avoided people questioning why such a military force has been assembled in the first place.

* BothSidesHaveAPoint: Ozpin and Ironwood present equally viable motivations in regards to how they have been handling security. Ironwood feels that an open display of military might will give people a feeling of safety while Ozpin's more subtle approach would have avoided people questioning why such a military force has been assembled in the first place.

** It's finally revealed why Cinder hacked into the communications network in Dance Dance Infiltration. [[spoiler: She now has control of all the tournament match-up selections, and she's also gained access to General Ironwood's Scroll.]] The extent of this plan has yet to be seen, but the implications are huge.

* ObfuscatingStupidity: Qrow doesn't seem like much at first, but quickly reveals himself to be a powerful DrunkenMaster. When meeting in private with Ozpin and the rest of the BenevolentConspiracy, he drops the act - though he still drinks - revealing that he's been away on a lengthy reconnaissance mission, and calls Ironwood out on his methods.

* FridgeLogic: Ozpin's entire point when criticizing Ironwood's overt uses of force is that it makes people fear a hypothetical threat that requires an army to defend against. But considering the city suffered a massive Grimm invasion fairly recently, the populace's fear of another attack ought to exist anyway, army or no army.

** Qrow causes an explosion in front of the school when fighting Winter, just like Ruby did when she met Weiss

* CassandraTruth: Qrow insists that the major threat they're all looking for is right here at Beacon. Nobody seems to believe him or acknowledge this.

Starting were we left off last episode, Weiss races across Vale to welcome the mysterious "her" with Ruby in tow. Soon we find out it's none other than Weiss's sister, Winter Schnee. After a warm...ish reunion Winter asks Weiss to show her team RWBY's dorm (Oh, Ruby and Penny wave to one another), but before they get even a block down the road a drunk, who turns out to be Ruby's uncle Qrow, picks a fight with Winter. Awesome fight and property damage ensue, but it is ended when Ironwood shows up followed by Ozpin and Glynda.

* SitcomArchNemesis: Winter and Qrow quickly show that they don't like each other much, well at least as far as Winter is concerned, Qrow on the other hand just likes pissing Winter off.
