* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Lord Lovelace, Leader of the Illusion Coven, is first introduced when an elderly merchant -- poorly disguised as Principle Bump -- tries selling Luz a lamp containing a JerkassGenie who declares that he will destroy the Emperor for imprisoning him, only to drop the act when Gus recognizing him, establishing him as an overly-dramatic TricksterMentor.
* ForWantOfANail: While in "[[Recap/TheOwlHouseS1E5Covention Covention]]" the Covention's SpecialGuest was Lilith, here it's Emperor Belos.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: It is implied that King's missing horn was caused in an incident where he defended his sister, this being physical evidence that he is worthy of the throne of Demon-kind.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Camila has Eda and Lilith put to work in the pegasus stables (without using their magic) as punishment for essentially tricking their daughter into a WizardDuel with the threat of losing her magic.
