Marcus Tate, the leader of the African-American Congress organization, is assassinated. One of the suspects is Marcus Koblin, a Jewish teacher. He is separated from his wife who works at the AAC office. The detectives find that he was the one who encouraged her to get a job there but eventually became jealous of the men working there. This led to their divorce. He is taken to trial and found not guilty with suspicions turning toward Roland Books (Creator/JoeMorton), who eventually takes over leadership of the organization.
