Diane meets with Noah at his house, and he tells her of Raven's fight with Abraham, and that Abraham was seeking a duplicate made by the Dewitchery Diamond at the school, but he doesn't know who. With this new information, Diane deduces that Ellen is a cursed duplicate of Elliot, though she doesn't tell Noah this. Noah then explains that Raven and Abraham (along with Agent Wolf and Vladia) are now searching for someone from another universe who regained a physical form by using the diamond (Magus, though Noah might not know his name and certainly doesn't know he's an alternate version of Elliott). He then explains that the FBI recruited Raven just for this one mission and arranged a new job for him as a teacher at Moperville University. Diane and Noah then discuss how she feels about Raven, and how knowing he's her biological father feels like she's betraying her adoptive parents. Noah says she should tell them everything, including the magic stuff, but Diane is reluctant because she doesn't want them to look at her differently. They decide that, at the very least, it'd be best to wait until she can talk to Raven about it. After pizza and getting to know each other better, Noah gives Diane Raven's number, and Diane calls Susan to tell her she has an "uncle".

Elliot sees the interview between Justin and Carol and it turns out Carol is Sarah's older sister. During the interview, Carol asks about Justin's connection to the heroine and Justin outmanouvered himself and accidentally marks himself as someone who could know a real life superhero and his words gave the internet motivation to call the new super "Cheerleadra". Next, Sarah uses a spell that shrinks Ashley, but she ends up shrinking much smaller than was previously possible. Tedd realizes that she'd been assuming that size spells weren't affected by magic's not-change, and had been testing the wands to her expectations rather than their limits. Meanwhile, Grace shrinks herself to the same size and tells every to give Ashley some space. The two head over the couch. In order to further comfort Ashley, Grace pretends that Ashley is casting a spell on her and shrinks even smaller, although the effort makes her drowsy. Sarah then tests the growing spell on herself, but its max limit is unchanged.\\

Susan has an urge to hug the gigantic Sarah but is too nervous to. She skulks away when Diane actually does hug Sarah, and Nanase follows. Susan tells her that she feels redundant since Diane is a sociable popular version of her that's just as smart, and that she's jealous of the things Diane can do so easily. Nanase reassures Susan that they're her friends and they love her for who she is. Diane finds them and asks if Susan wants practice with physical contact, and she agrees and hugs Sarah.\\

Elliot transforms into a girl so he can be shrunk down smaller than Ashley. When he starts asking Tedd how he knows specifics about how stacking enchantments affects clothing, Sarah panics and tries to surprise-shrink Elliot. It fails because the wand is out of energy, and Tedd recharges it. Before Elliot can be shrunk, Nanase suggests he shrinks Sarah since she tried to shrink him without his permission. Sarah and Elliot are soon shrunk and join Ashley and Grace on the couch and notice how small Grace is. Tedd asks if Grace can keep herself and her clothes that small without any problems, before her clothes suddenly revert to normal size.\\

For example, something complicated like Sarah's spell could be "learned", but still requires the wizard to have the prerequisite affinity to cast it. Any seer could eventually copy any spell, but it would require a lot of study. Additionally, the size and material of wands matter, as larger and sturdier wands are needed to cast complex spells.\\

"Can magic that removes things worn by a person remove piercings and implants?"
* Things embedded in the skin benefit heavily from magic resistance, making it difficult to remove piercings. As for implants, magic nopes out always considers them part of your body.\\

"Why are so many characters LGBT+?"
* Gender fluidity and bisexuality feel normal to Dan, plus he grew up in the eighties and nineties and wanted to see more LGBT+ representation. Also, with all the GenderBending, it made sense to include transgender characters.\\

* Not usually, as name-based affinities come from magic's sense of irony. However, a parent could name their child something in the hopes of causing an affinity. Additionally, if someone wants a spell so badly that they'll change their name to get it, then they'll probably get that spell when they awaken. This does not extend to spells like Sarah's that you need an affinity for in order to use. You could theoretically gain a name-based affinity if the new name was deeply personal and created a {{pun}}, but this would be difficult to do. Lucy and Rhoda react to Diane's new haircut, which Rhoda likes but Lucy is unusually grumpy about. Rhoda says there are rumours of Diane fighting a giant snake monster in the mall, which she denies. After they split ways, Diane overhears other kids spreading gossip about her, including some very negative things as no one recognizes her. Diane tells Lucy and Rhoda what she heard, and Lucy explodes at her for not knowing about the rumours she had been creating. Their argument is intercut with flashbacks to Diane and Lucy meeting, Diane introducing Rhoda to the group, and Diane not-so-subtly crushing on Nanase. In the present, Lucy tells herself that Diane isn't as observant as she thought and to just give up.\\

Sarah says it was a good time but had mixed signals, which Grace figures is Sam hiding the fact that he's trans. That night, Grace decides that she can talk to him about Sarah, but gets cold feet the next day. She gets especially nervous when she learns Sam isn't coming to the comic shop that day but Sarah and him are going on another date soon.\\

During the card tournament that night, Grace has an internal debate about discussing magic with Sam, but decides that giving Sam magic could ruin Tedd's chances of getting a lab. She notices Sarah is distressed and hugs her, which Sarah says she was thinking about Pandora. After the tournament, Grace accidentally drops a dice bag, and brings out her antennae to help pick them up, as they give her increased spatial awareness.\\

Later that night at the college dorm rooms, Camdin startles Luke by appearing in a puff of smoke. Camdin tells Luke to get any information he can out of Grace, believing her to be Cheerleadra. Luke doesn't think she is, and notes that Grace is already ticked that he knows she has any powers at all.\\

On Saturday, Grace and Ellen are at the mall and Grace is still thinking about Sam. Ellen notices that Grace is being sullen, and reassures her that it's not her fault she wasn't at the mall during the aberration attack. Grace is confused at first, but takes her words of encouragement. However, Grace then spots Sam, who flees when he notices her. That night, Grace is worried that Sam ran away because he doesn't like her and that he's avoiding the comic shop for the same reason. Grace needs to talk to Sam, and realizes she can use information used for reserving comics to get his phone number.\\

The next morning, Grace lies to get into the backroom to find Sam's information, but stops when she realizes what she's doing is wrong. However, at that moment Sam walks into the comic shop. She brings out her antennae and looks at Sam to analyze his figure, then approaches him and quietly asks if someone gave him a magic mark. Grace carefully explains that she was born with magic abilities and knows a lot about magic and is worried that Sam may have gotten a mark from Voltaire. The two of them leave the shop to talk about this elsewhere.\\

While on a walk, Sam explains that his mark allows him to change his sex, and that it was given to him a few weeks ago by Pandora along with a note explaining all of this. Grace explains who Pandora is, but breaks down crying when she remembers that Pandora is "dead". Sam comforts Grace, and she asks him if he doesn't like her. Sam says that he's not going to hold a grudge, especially after she kept his secret for months. Sam also says he hasn't told anyone about being trans and is happy to have someone to talk to. He doesn't want to come out again, since he already came out as a lesbian and is worried about how certain will react to him "getting it wrong" the first time. He also doesn't want to be the first person whose coming-out story involves actual magic.
