* Ash is running an errand for Professor Oak in Viridian, and gets intercepted by a guy dressed as a HawaianShirtTourist

HawaianShirtTourist who promptly challenges him to a battle. He accepts, despite having some strange vibes from the guy.
* Ash sends Ambipom to fight an Alolan Raichu. Ambipom wins.
* In the second bout, Ash sends Boldore to fight a Golisopod. [[TheWorfEffect Boldore loses despite using a Z-Move]].
* For the third, Ash sends Pikachu against a Midnight Lycanroc. Pikachu manages to win by evolving his Wild Charge into Volt Tackle.
* Ash finally demands that the guy reveal his true intentions. The guy drops the disguise and reveals he wanted to analyze Ash's trainer skills to better prepare himself to face him at Indigo. He then teleports away.
* Anabel reveals that she read his thoughts and got his name, Alexander Silph. Ash has the Pokédex look him up for information.
* The Pokédex reveals Alexander Silph is the heir of the megacorporation of the same name, and has won several League Conferences. He also reveals that he divides his Pokémon in Alpha and Beta tiers, the former stronger than the latterer than the latter.
* Ash then realizes that Alexander Silph held back just to get information about him, and despite winning two of the three bouts, the victory feels rather hollow. He then wonders if that's how Red felt when he refused to use his bloodliner powers to win in the tournaments.
* Once at the Pokémon Center, the Nurse Joy talks to Ash about the possibility of using a Trade Circuit machine, noticing Boldore's issues and how she wants to grow stronger.
* Anabel offers to use the machine with her Kadabra, so they both can evolve today. Ash ultimately leaves the choice to Boldore, who decides that she does want to evolve.
* Kadabra and Boldore evolve to Alakazam and Gigalith respectively.
* Back in Pallet Town, Delia organizes another party in the restaurant. Anabel then senses something, and while everyone is distracted, she goes to check it out.
* A Raikou appears before her and attacks. After she defends herself using her powers, it suddenly stops and speaks to her through telepathy, revealing itself as the original Raikou who was resurrected by Ho-oh centuries ago.
* Raikou takes Anabel for a ride, revealing that it came to observe the place where Ash Ketchum was born, as Ho-oh if Ash is destined to change the world for the better like Professor Oak did before him.
* Anabel asks if Ash is some sort of chosen one, which Raikou dismisses as Ash is only one of many humans pure of heart that could fit the mold of a chosen one.
* Anabel then asks if Raikou knows about why bloodliners are growing un numbers. Raikou denies it, although it suspects it could be tied to events such as Kalos' Ultimate Weapon and some meteor showers. Raikou then leaves and Anabel returns to the party.
* In Terracotta Town, Koga raids the hideout of Frank Gipani to help the police put an end to his criminal operations. He then confiscates some of his Alolan Pokémon, hoping that he can either add them to his roster or breed new ones from them, to have new options for the upcoming Indigo League.

!!!Blastoise Islant Interlude
* The Wartortle explains to Misty he comes from a nearby island, and a group of evil humans invaded his home and got his Squirtle and Wartortle friends captured, with him only escaping because his Blastoise King sent him off the island to get help.
* After Ash, Iris and the rest of their Pokémon come over, Misty decides to help them, and Anabel teleports them all to the island.
* Once they arrive, they see the place has been completely trashed by the invaders. Dexter informs them that a band of Pokémon smugglers has been sighted around the area and might be the ones responsible for the attack.
* The group explores the island, and eventually finds the smugglers fighting against the Blastoise King who tries to protect the remaining Squirtle and Wartortle behind him. The Pokédex identifies one of the smugglers as a mercenary named Dirk, who has Unovan Pokémon.
* Wartortle explains the smugglers arrived in a submarine, and Misty deduces they probably have the rest of his friends over there. Anabel suggests they split up so Ash and Misty deal with this particular group, while she and Iris go and storm the submarine to rescue the rest of Wartortle's friends.
* Misty and her Pokémon stay in hiding while they wait for Ash and his Pokémon to do their part. Charizard attacks from the sky with a Flamethrower.
* During the ensuing rampage, the smugglers throw electrified nets at Blastoise to subdue him, and place him in the back of their trailer to make a retreat. Misty jumps over Blastoise's cage, and ends up following with them.
* The smugglers end up noticing Misty followed them and hit the brakes of their vehicle, throwing her off, though she manages to land safely.
* After Misty easily disposes of the two smugglers who try to attack her directly, Dirk [[CombatPragmatist wisely decides to send his Escavalier against her.]]
* The Escavalier grazes Misty, and causes her to become paralyzed with fear, giving it the chance to wound her with its spear arm. Misty then realizes Escavalier is a Bug-type, much to her chagrin.
* Managing to calm herself down, Misty tricks the Escavalier into stabbing its arms into a tree, and then smashes a rock on it to knock it out.
* Dirk brings out his Zebstrika, a Braviary and a Mandibuzz to continue the fight. Misty keeps dodging the attacks until a rock ends up pinning her leg down, leaving her defenseless.
* Having no other choice, Misty summons a Whirlpool attack to fend off Dirk's Mandibuzz. When Dirk orders his Zebstrika to attack her, Misty throws a Water Pulse at it, causing it to become disoriented and hit Braviary.
* With Braviary and Zebstrika fighting against each other, Dirk summons his Tyranitar, calling for a Hyper Beam to kill her off. Before it can, however, [[BigDamnHeroes Misty's Pokémon show up]] and blast it with their attacks.
* The battle continues, and when Dirk's Tyranitar sees a chance to attack her again, Ash's Squirtle and the first Wartortle show up to help her once more. While they keep Tyranitar distracted, Misty uses the chance to use Aqua Ring and heal her wounds.
* After knocking Dirk out for a bit, Misty frees Blastoise and the rest of the captive Squirtle and Wartortle from the cages, and they join into the battle. A loud explosion is heard in the distance.
* The battle continues, but with Blastoise and the others freed, the tide turns to Misty's favor. Three more smugglers show up to announce their submarine has been blown up.
* Dirk decides to recall his Pokémon save his Braviary, [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere and flies off the island]], [[NoHonorAmongThieves leaving the rest of the group to fend for themselves and with no way to get out.]]
* When the thugs protest, Psyduck decides to shut them up with his psychic powers. Ash then calls Misty via the Pokédex secondary body, to inform her they're all done with the rest and they'll be teleporting off the island soon.
* Back at the Cinnabar beach, Blastoise and the rest of the Wartortle and Squirtle do a head count to ensure everybody is safe and sound. However, there's still the issue of them not having a home anymore.
* Misty wonders if they'd have enough room for all of them at Oak's place, while Ash's Squirtle elaborates on it, assuring them they'll like the place.
* Misty offers that they all come with her, promising to take good care of them all. Blastoise isn't fully sure, so he wants to test Misty's strength before agreeing to go with her.
* When Gyarados steps up to Blastoise's challenge, the turtle finally agrees to go without fighting, seeing Gyarados' loyalty to Misty as proof of her strength, and allows himself and the rest of his brethren to be captured into Net Balls.
* At sunset, the group boards the ferry to Pallet Town. Misty talks to Anabel about how good it felt to help Wartortle and his friends.

to:

* Iris and Anabel continue to discuss the possibility of sharing Ash in a relationship. Anabel points out that while she didn't feel as jealous as she expected when she saw Ash and Iris making out in her dream, she'd still have to convince Ash and Misty to get on board with it. Iris declares she has a plan for that.
* After waking up, Ash goes to meet Iris and Anabel to the clearing where the former liked to do physical training.
* Iris, after taking her shirt off, prompts Anabel and Ash to do the same so they can start training. [[DistractedByTheSexy Ash becomes distracted after seeing Anabel shirtless]] and Iris takes advantage of that to tackle him down.
* Elsewhere, Misty is helping Ash's Squirtle and Kingler with their training. Ash comes to her beaten up worse than usual, and explains to her how Iris dragged Anabel into doing physical combat training too.
* Later, Misty goes to talk to Anabel about the physical training. Misty explains that she's surprised Iris didn't rope her instead of Anabel for that, and admits she doesn't mind being ogled at by Ash a bit. The two decide to do some meditation training.
* Iris continues to help Anabel with the physical training. After a while, she asks Anabel to check on the dream she had about Ash losing his eye, just to make sure it isn't real. Anabel confirms it was just a dream.
* The next morning, Anabel meets Delia while she's making muffins for breakfast.
* While eating, Delia asks Anabel what goals she has. Anabel then realizes she doesn't have a personal goal to herself, and while she's content with having friends and seeing the world, she wishes she could do something to make the world a better place.
* Delia suggests Anabel could perhaps share her story around the internet so people can get to know her, and perhaps get people to change their stances about bloodliners.
* Anabel later comes to Dexter for help to set up a blog. While at first the Pokédex refuses, on the grounds that he's programmed to help Ash and not her, Anabel manages to trick the device into agreeing by using ReversePsychology.
* Once the blog is ready, Anabel writes its first entry, and signs herself as "Salon Maiden".
