* [[VideoGame/GodOfWar Kratos]] plays this role in ''[[Webcomic/ZeusGodlyGoodtime Zeus' Godly Goodtime]]'' among the group that visits NintendoLand. He has to put up with the antics of [[AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents Zeus]], as well as [[BigEater Fat Princess]], [[{{Keet}} Parappa and Spike]], who were invited along by Zeus.

** Durkon for a time seems to be the sane one of the part of the group with Hinjo, though he passes it to Hinjo himself every so often and takes his time worrying about the tree army sneaking up on him.

** [[DragonWithAnAgenda Redcloak]] is most definitely the Only Sane Man in [[FiveBadBand Team Evil]], being the only non-Mook who is not [[ForTheEvulz evil for evil's sake]], a childish epic-level monster, a goth with a [[NightmareFetishist crush]] on her evil [[DemBones skeletal]] [[EvilSorcerer sorcerer]] [[EvilOverlord boss]], or a wisecracking insect with no regard for the [lack of a] [[NoFourthWall Fourth Wall]]. Granted, if you've read ''Start of Darkness'' you know Redcloak has issues too, but the others have ''subscriptions''.
** Redcloak's brother Right-Eye was so sane that he eventually abandoned Team Evil entirely to attempt peaceful co-existence with humans. He was doing pretty well too, until [[{{Jerkass}} Xykon]] showed up again.

* The Space Pirate newcomer to ''PlanetZebeth'' is serving this role, seemingly being the only Space Pirate-affiliated character in the entire comic who actually remembers that they have any kind of mission or organization (as opposed to Ridley, who's opened a bar, Kraid, who just gets drunk and chases Samus around (not necessarily in that order), and Mother Brain, who hasn't really been doing much of anything lately).

* In this one shot[[http://existentialcomics.com/comic/23 Existential Comic]] Immanuel Kant plays this role to the other philosophers, who can't help but try to exert their own views of philosophy onto the game, while Kant clearly just wants to kill some Orcs.

** Siv for MissionControl is the only member fully aware of how dangerous the expedition is and that the CuttingCorners that was necessary to stay within a smaller than initially planned budget has only made things worse. However, being a quite negative person and an ExtremDoormat makes her come across as more worried as she should be instead.
** Mikkel for the crew, which is quite appropriate for the TeamMom. Mikkel himself is quite the DeadpanSnarker and TheGadfly when he deems it appropriate, but the rest of the crew happens to either even crazier than him, naive, or both at the same time. He also happens to be a FlatEarthAtheist travelling with two mages and two people who believe in magic while being not mages themselves thanks to have been surrounded by it their whole lives, which gives him an extra license to think of himself as more reasonable than everyone else.

* ''Webcomic/StandStilStaySilent'':

** Mikkel for the crew, which is quite appropriate for the TeamMom. Mikkel himself is quite the DeadpanSnarker and TheGadfly when he deems it appropriate, but the rest of the crew happens to either even crazier than him, naive, or both at the same time. He also happens to be a FlatEarthAtheist travelling with two mages and two people who believe in magic while not mages themselves thanks to have been surrounded by it their whole lives, which gives him an extra license to think of himself as more reasonable than everyone else.

* This is the schtick of Atomik Lad in particular in ''NuklearAge''. While Mighty Mettalic Magno Man and Rachel are also sane, the former is often a witting accomplice to Nuke's insanity, while the latter is generally more interested in watching. Atomik Lad notes in the Court Segment that perhaps he is the insane one, because everything would make more sense that way.

* Space Hojo and Son Gohrotto in ''Twisted Kaiju Theatre'' often play this role. They appear to be the only two members of the Toxic Pirates who aren't lunatics, idiots, or assholes.

* Almost everyone in APTComic feels like this at some point, and thanks to how some jokes work it tends to be true.

* Karkat of ''Webcomic/{{Homestuck}}'' is the OnlySaneMan among the Trolls, which isn't really that hard since trolls are ''weird''. He admits that [[TeamMom Kanaya]] is the only Troll who might be saner than him. For the humans, it might be Dave, since he's the only one who's not a {{Cloudcuckoolander}} or [[spoiler:[[GoMadFromTheRevelation off the deep end]]]].

* Aeris in ''VGCats'' seems to be the sanest. Mind you, this is by comparison to:

* In Webcomic/{{Polandball}}, [[WhiteSheep Slovenia]] serves as this for [[DysfunctionJunction the former Yugoslavia countryballs]]. He's sane enough to stay out of their frequent arguments and is the least kill-happy out of them. Because of this, he often feels like he [[http://i.imgur.com/cUBCOZK.png doesn't belong]] with them and [[http://i.imgur.com/r1atrqS.png would rather align himself]] with Central Europe.

* In ''PlatinumGrit'' Kate Provocski is the only major character able to comprehend that all the impossible things going on around them are... well, impossible. And she's really starting to stress about it.
* Sloan of ''{{Snowflakes}}'' gets put in this position a lot, though she's not without her own neuroses.
