* Snoke's ship, the ''Supremacy'', showing up out of hyperspace. Death Stars not included, it is the largest starship ever seen in ''Star Wars'' (if the Dreadnought the First Order just lost was still there, it would be dwarfed) and the dark shadow of its gigantic ominous shape comes with ominous sirens.
** The ''Supremacy'' can track entire fleets through lightspeed. It's an ImplacableMan with the shape of a starship the size of Rhode Island.
** The ''Supremacy'' casually blasting away most of the Rebel transports, each hit killing dozens of an already heavily dwindled down Resistance.

* The Resistance's FighterLaunchingSequence comes to an abrupt end when Kylo Ren flies through the hangar bay to deliver a torpedo strike, destroying all of the fighters and wiping out many of the pilots and maintenance crews before they could launch.

* Canto Bight is initially presented as a ShiningCity and Finn is left awestruck, initially not understanding why Rose doesn't like the place. Then she shows why: not only is it a city of people profitting from selling weapons to both the Resistance and the First Order, its entertainment in particular runs off of enslaved, abused animals and ''children''. In particular, Finn looks through a mounted telescope and sees fathiers and young stable hands being administered ''electric shocks''. No wonder he quickly changes his mind about the whole place.

It might've been slightly understandable for him to do it out of a desire to save himself, but he has such a [[LackOfEmpathy callous attitude]] towards the duo who asked him for help that one can't help but wonder if he's screwed over the lives of others in a similar fashion.
