* While she isn't the most social or outwardly emotional person, Samus Aran of Franchise/Metroid fame is shown to be a compassionate and gentle woman who wants to make the galaxy a better place. For example, instead of coldly killing the Metroid hatchling, she spares it once she realizes it isn’t hostile, protects it from Ridley, sees that it used for beneficial research, and fights through all of Zebes to get it back. She also took the time to rescue the Etecoons and Dachora before Zebes was destroyed and saved planet Aether and the Luminoth from the Ing of her own volition and with no expectation of reward. In Dread, after taking the time to listen to Quiet Robe's plight, she reassures him in the Chozo language that she will stop Raven Beak's plans to conquer the galaxy.

** Zack Fair, from the Final Fantasy VII prequel VideoGame/CrisisCore. He's upbeat, sincere, utterly loyal, and just wants to be a hero (in the very best sense of the word). Because of this, he manages to make friends with practically everyone he encounters, including ShrinkingViolet Cloud, the Turks and pre-Nibelheim Sephiroth. Contrast to how Cloud, the main character of Final Fantasy VII, starts out his story as a vain, arrogant, apathetic asshole who deliberately antagonises his employers, and earns either fawning admiration or loathing from everyone around him until he grows up a little.

to:

** Franchise/CompilationOfFinalFantasyVII:
*** Tifa is a kind, altruistic, compassionate, laid-back woman with quite the maternal streak and interacts with others in polite, understanding, and respectful way. She actively teaches Cloud life lessons and networking so that he can build better connection and reputation for his mercenary job, with Cloud viewing her as a patient teacher. She's also very dedicated to creating the most positive and communal environment possible within Sector Seven. She takes issues with Avalanche's more extreme methods to the point of getting kicked out of meetings, as well as being concerned for the well-beings of even Shinra employees, such as recognizing them as just people who worked to support their loved ones and saving Shinra Middle Manager while saying that she doesn't want anyone to die.
*** Aerith is rather unsurprisingly, this trope to a tee. She maintains a cheerful and idealistic disposition, and readily offers help to others without expecting recompense (which lets her stand out to Cloud, an apathetic and arrogant mercenary), and risks herself to save other people (like Tifa and Barret's daughter Marlene) despite not knowing them very well as people. She absolutely loves children: she openly empathizes with the ghost childen of the train graveyard, and is adored by all of the kids of the Leaf House and is one of the few adults they allow into their "secret hideout" even though its existence is an OpenSecret.

A lot of his sidequests involve him going out of his way to help people out, such as him having the option of building Aerith three different flower carts. He even attempts to help Angeal and Genesis, who had done bad things to him like the former betraying him, only because it's the right thing to do. He died due to taking care and protecting comatose Cloud (going OneManArmy against Shinra's entire army) without being bitter or resentful about it. !!Individual Games

* NiceGuy/FireEmblem

* The Franchise/FireEmblem series, being a classic SwordsAndSorcery setting, has quite a lot of these:
** In VideoGame/FireEmblemAkaneia series, both the protagonist Marth, and his childhood friend and LoveInterest Caeda, fit this to a T. Both are somewhat subdued, yet charismatic leaders who firmly believe in peace; Marth is extremely forgiving by nature despite what he endures, and Caeda recruits many former enemies simply by being kind to them.
** In the VideoGame/FireEmblemElibe series, over a couple of generations of heroes:
*** The three Lords of Blazing Blade are all this to some degree or another. Lyn is a deeply kind person who never stops trying to help people in spite of her own problems, and her empathy generally only fails her with outlaws in general -- due to a traumatic event in her past involving bandits, but she's able to learn to see the good in them as well -- and villainous people in general. Eliwood, like his son Roy (below), is very astute and willing to see the good in people, doesn't allow himself to truly hate his enemies but pity them, and deeply dislikes the ramifications of war on innocents (it's noted by Nils that his father, Lord Elbert was very much alike, if more forceful and decisive). Finally Hector, while somewhat rude at times and abrasive (which makes him seem like a jerk), is very loyal to his friends and more soft-hearted than he's given credit for, to the point his friends like to tease him for his lack of tact contrasting with his inner kindness.
*** Wil, one of the most easy-going members of the army, is very easy to like and be friends with; he also reaches out to befriend people like Florina (who is timid around men in general) and Raven (who is aloof and cynical) and is good at bringing them out of their shells. And when he's confronted with past mistakes, he owns up to them instead of making excuses.
*** Canas, a scholar who studies Dark Magic but insists it's only as evil as its practitioner, is highly passionate about his studies and curious -- a little absent-minded at times, but always well-meaning and polite.
*** Legault, perhaps the most personable agent of the Black Fang -- he defects after the Fang's falling moral standards are irrevocably corrupted, joining Eliwood's forces when convinced they are in the right, and is kind to those he interacts with. He's also an HonoraryUncle to Nino, who is at ease with his pleasantness.
*** Nino stands out for being cheery and friendly despite being raised by an abusive mother , inciting protectiveness in those around her and in general not having a bad bone in her body despite her hardships. She's too empathetic for being in the Fang, and only shows anger at the pain others cause (to her and her friends).
*** Roy in The Binding Blade follows his father's example in being kind and personable with people (if a bit sharper of mind).
** In VideoGame/FireEmblemTheSacredStones:
*** The twin royals of Renais, Eirika and Ephraim, are kind people who only express it differently -- Eirika rarely says a bad thing about anyone and values peace and friendship, Ephraim is refreshingly honest and empathetic (even giving an apparent enemy, who tripped while trying to attack him, pointers on how to better use her weapon). Both are willing to do the difficult things necessary, but neither truly enjoy it despite the former's anger at injustice and the latter's love for combat.
*** Franz, as well as his older brother Forde -- both are friendly, easygoing men who treat their comrades well and easily form strong bonds (Franz with Amelia and Natasha, as well as an IntergenerationalFriendship with Gilliam; Forde with his comrade Kyle, and also with Vanessa & Eirika). Both offer their time freely and with a smile, and neither takes kindness in general for granted (especially as Forde raised his brother from a young age).
*** Joshua, a laid-back mercenary of Jehanna who loves to gamble, is unwilling to harm women or other innocents (even rigging coin tosses despite his already-dreadful luck) and appears drawn to befriending people who are cold, aloof or broken. He also , and his serious side shows all measures of his sincerity of character.
*** Tana, the upbeat princess of Frelia, who puts herself at risk to help her friends and is startlingly willing to die for doing the right thing (in one route, offering to let a conflicted Cormag kill her if he spares Duessel in return).
*** Gerik, an uncommonly-kind mercenary leader who treats his fellow soldiers well and is unashamed to be unorthodox in his line of work. Notable because as a young man he was once brash and arrogant, but after losing a duel to someone out of his league (who left him his signature scar), he learned humility and to treasure both his own life and those of his comrades. Both women in his troop, Tethys and Marisa, are drawn to him for his compassionate nature.
** Several of the characters in VideoGame/FireEmblemTellius.
*** Ike is one of the least judgmental and most empathetic people alive. He's considered to be an exceptionally kind beorc by most if not all laguz who know him. Soren, who doesn't like anyone else, practically worships him for how nice he was in the past.
*** Oscar is easy-going and polite to everyone even when they annoy him. He's also remarkably self-effacing for all his talents.
*** Rhys consistently shows great concern even for complete strangers and never bickers with anyone, even when they're pulling dangerous stunts.
*** Zihark is friendly to all the people he meets, and is only willing to criticize others' behavior when it starts hurting other people. He doesn't even have the heart to directly reject Meg.
*** Ranulf is an easy-going egalitarian who quickly becomes very chummy with Ike for this reason.
** VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening
*** Chrom, the game's protagonist, is extremely trusting towards his friends, and never lets up an occasion to help them.
*** This is generally the Avatar's personality in the game. [[spoiler:Except when possessed by Grima, of course.]]
*** Chrom's daughter from the future, Lucina, helps around camp on her spare time, is very supportive of her friends, and is always trying to improve herself as a leader.
*** Sumia, one of the pegasus riders, is an absolute sweetheart. She seems to care for and love everyone. Except for cows. Cows annoy her.
*** Henry is a twisted example. While the way he tends to act can freak people out, he genuinely likes helping people. Even if the way he goes about it is completely misguided and a little... unorthodox. Unlike the sour grape that is Tharja, the only time he places hexes on his fellow Shepherds is if they ask him to do so. He just as gladly removes them again if they request him to, with no hard feelings.
*** The Avatar's child, Morgan, especially the male version. Unlike his female counterpart, who is a troll, and has a bit of a sadistic side to her, Male Morgan is generally nice to everyone he interacts with, just like his mother.
*** Stahl is a very mellow and friendly guy and, like Henry, he is completely willing to go out of his way to help (albeit he’s normal about it).
** VideoGame/FireEmblemFates has a fairly large amount, reinforcing the not so different aspect of Hoshido and Nohr:
*** The Avatar. They grew up surrounded by kind people (With the exception of Jerkass Garon), and is naturally kind themselves (in Revelations and Invisible History it's revealed that this is largely in part due to their father, [[spoiler:Anankos' good half]]). The Avatar is possibly one of the kindest and most forgiving lords in the franchise, rivaling the likes of Eliwood and Marth. In their supports, the Avatar is almost always helping or playing therapist to other characters in the army, and their general attitude -- when they don't feel mischievous -- is one of politeness and humility. Xander even tells them they're too nice for their own good -- and, to an extent, he's right. Caeldori also sums it up well in her S support with a Male Avatar.
*** Silas, one of the Avatar's childhood friends (whom they forgot about) is a paragon of kindness. He assures the Avatar that even if they are Hoshido's prince/princess, they're still their own person, and he constantly tries to help out others. He's TheReliableOne and often serves as a WarriorTherapist to the other characters.
*** Kaze is a calm, kind, and polite ninja. He'll join your party regardless of the player's decision. In many of his supports, he goes out of his way to help others.
*** The Avatar's elder brothers, Ryoma and Xander, both of them are surprisingly kind individuals. Ryoma's supports have a tendency to show him trying to help out others and being all-around nice, whereas Xander a calm, kind, and honest man, and raised the Avatar to be a good person at heart (it might have worked a little too well).
*** The Avatar's elder sisters, Hinoka and Camilla, as well. Hinoka's described as the most caring person in the army, and it shows. Camilla, for all her issues is also incredibly kind and caring (especially towards the Avatar and Elise) and essentially fills the role of TeamMom on the Nohr side.
*** Both of the Avatar's youngest sisters, Sakura (from the Hoshido side) and Elise (from the Nohr side), take this UpToEleven (notice a pattern here?). Both of them are All Loving Heroines, with both having unlimited kindness and compassion towards everyone regardless of someone's background. [[spoiler:It doesn't end well for Elise on Birthright. It doesn't end well at all.]]
*** Oboro, despite her hatred towards Nohr, can actually be a kind and reasonable girl at heart that allows her to be the TeamMom for the Hoshidan army. In addition, she also fits into the "Sweet" category should you make her the chef of your restaurant (which is also shared with Midori and Elise, both are also Nice Girls as well).
*** As befitting their RedOniBlueOni[=/=]BokeAndTsukkomiRoutine, Kaden and Keaton. The former loves helping and cheering people up with his fluffy tail, and must always return the favor whenever someone is nice to him; the latter is, despite his quirks, an otherwise genuinely pleasant, affable guy.
*** Effie is very gentle and devoted to those she cares for, especially her lady-of-liege Elise. Effie will protect anyone who needs it with her own life, especially her friends and allies, and sometimes even sufficiently sympathetic enemies, without any regard for her own safety. In Revelations, Azama pretty much calls her a MartyrWithoutACause for it, whereas Leo straight-up questions if she doesn't cherish her own life.
*** Despite his unlucky moments, Arthur, as befitting a HERO OF JUSTICE, is an upbeat and friendly guy at heart. [[spoiler:He was even willing to get himself punished just to protect Azura back when he was a child/young teenager.]]
*** Benny. Despite his intimidating appearance, he's a genuinely sweet guy. He's noted to always be thinking of his comrades, whom he easily towers over. Additionally, he's a FriendToAllLivingThings, including bears.
*** The Avatar's child, Kana, of either gender, just like their parent. Both of them are more immature about it, but nonetheless both are as kindhearted as the Avatar.
*** Shigure, in contrast to his mother Azura's asocial tendencies is very helpful, kind, compassionate, and willing to listen to other's issues.
*** Dwyer, again unlike his father Jakob, is despite his lazy, apathetic attitude, a genuinely nice and caring person as shown in many of his supports, though he apparently doesn't like being told he's nice.
*** Midori, like her father Kaze is unfailingly nice, kind and sweet to others.
*** Kiragi, in contrast to his father Takumi, is Keet excitable, incredibly friendly and open.
*** Hisame has many of his supports feature him trying to help out whoever he's talking to, even the odder girls like Rhajat and Ophelia.
*** Siegbert is a near-carbon-copy of his father Xander, right down to the calm, kind and honest personality.
*** Forrest, in contrast to his father Leo, is an all-around sweet guy.
*** Percy, just like his father Arthur, is a very open and friendly kid at heart.
** VideoGame/FireEmblemThreeHouses has several characters from all major factions, highlighting the GreyAndGrayMorality of the game:
*** The Black Eagles and Adrestian Empire have Ferdinand, Caspar, Bernadetta, Dorothea, and Petra. Ferdinand is, despite his competitive streak, generally polite and jovial to the other students and genuinely interested in their wellbeing. Caspar, while HotBlooded, does deeply care for his friends. Bernadetta turns out to be a pleasant person once her crippling shyness is past. Dorothea, while a JerkassToOne towards Ferdinand, is otherwise pleasant (if flirty) to be around, and acts as a CoolBigSis towards Bernadetta and Ingrid. Finally, Petra is very positive, understanding, and polite, with this trait actually being noted as admirable by several characters.
*** The Blue Lions and Holy Kingdom of Faerghus have pre-FreakOut Dimitri, Mercedes, Annette, and Ashe. Dimitri is the most polite of the three lords. Mercedes is one of the sweetest members of the cast and wants to help as many people as possible (although Lorenz does get on her nerves). Annette holds no grudge against her estranged father, Gilbert/Gustave, and is very cheerful and kind in general. Finally, Ashe is unfailingly polite and kind, even to people that are hostile to him, and says to Byleth that he genuinely enjoys helping people. (Unless you're the Western Church's bishop, that is.)
*** The Golden Deer and Leicester Alliance have Hilda, Raphael, Ignatz, and Marianne. Hilda is a sweet girl who proves to be a loyal ally when things get serious. Raphael remains ThePollyanna despite losing his parents to an accident, and acts as a cheery emotional anchor to his friends. While Ignatz is a pushover, he's also a genuinely polite and affable guy (OOCIsSeriousBusiness unless Lysithea pushes him too far). Finally, while Marianne is NotGoodWithPeople, she's a FriendToAllLivingThings and is shown to be nice once comfortable.
*** The Church and Knights of Seiros have Flayn and Alois. Flayn is a gentle soul who abhors violence and pain, and she actively desires to make friends and bond with people. Alois is a friendly and upbeat guy, if a bit excitable, and Shamir credits him for helping her more noble side show.
*** The Ashen Wolves has Yuri and Balthus. Yuri serves as TheDon of the underground city of Abyss, and has a checkered past, but is unfailingly loyal to his friends. Balthus, meanwhile, is a BoisterousBruiser who is a lot of fun to be around.

WordOfGod has it that she was originally going to be more like the other leads, until they realised that someone with her particular superpower (she's a hypersensitive empath with shades of telepathy) could only have survived by deciding that GoodFeelsGood and becoming a kinder person.
