He enslaves his parents under threat of punishment and KILLS HIS GIRLFRIEND when she rejects him. Screw 'good intentions.' He's a spoiled monster who doesn't deserve his own world. And no world deserves him.
* Prometheus. He started out as a MagnificentBastard in his initial appearance when created by GrantMorrison. He then went on to suffer severe VillainDecay in his follow-up appearances...until JLA: A Cry for Justice. In his grand return after years of limbo (after a special one-shot used InfiniteCrisis to retcon all of the non Morrison[=/=]VillainDecay stories involving he character as being an imposture), he unleashed a wave of chaos, carnage, and torture on the heroes of the DCU that rivaled even the worst BigBad in the worst Crisis. [[spoiler: Murdering countless d-list superheroes, killing Mikaal Tomas' lover and Congo Bill's pride, sewing Freddy Freeman's lips together to keep him from speaking his magic world, cruelly lobotomizing genius IQ, mutilating Red Arrow, and culminating with murdering 90,000 people in Star City - including Red Arrow's [[InfantImmortality little daughter]].]] Why? Because as a kid, his criminal parents were shot in front of him by the police. The series may have been incredibly criticized, but there's no denying that Prometheus is easily one of the most monstrous characters in the DCU. [[spoiler: At least he was until Green Arrow shot an arrow into his eye.]]

* Why has no one mentioned Vandal Savage yet? For one thing, he practically invented evil as a human concept. Over the millennia, he has basically done everything in the book and then some, having been some of the most vicious and depraved men in history, in addition to being one of THE most efficient manipulators in the DCU. He has billions of bodies to his name, and judging by some of his offspring (Grendel... holy shit, just Grendel), he's responsible for the existence of various other horrible monsters. No wonder his daughter is as fucked up as she is; even then, though, she absolutely despises her father and wants nothing to do with him, with anything related to him usually acting as a {{Berserk Button}}. Hell, most of his fellow villains either despise him or are fucking terrified of him. Usually both. And the kicker? ''He's immortal, damn near unkillable, and isn't going anywhere any time soon.''

*** Interestingly enough, Simone is the only writer to portray her so irredeemably. Usually, she's an insane and dangerous terrorist, but not without the concept of love, and has a MoralityPet young daughter. Fans of the previous characterization tend to dislike Simone's.

** The second is Diro Yat, father of Green Lantern Sodam Yat. How do you discourage your son from hanging out with the wrong crowd? Well, if you're Diro Yat, you have the offending friend taxidermied, then MindRape your son into believing his friend was trying to kill him. Did we mention that the only reason the friend was offensive was that he was a different species? He also has people burned alive. What's worse is that Diro's attitude is shared by most of his fellow Daxamites. Sodam is the only Daxamite seen so far who doesn't display violent xenophobia. The entire planet is so bad that Sodam seriously considered letting the Sinestro Corps tear the planet apart.

* TheFlash has a CompleteMonster of an Arch-Nemesis in Eobard Thawne, the Reverse Flash. It was long clear that he was a MagnificentBastard with no regard for human life, and he was responsible for murdering Barry Allen's wife and eventually driving Barry to kill him to save a life. But with recent revelations in the new "Flash" series, there's no going back for Thawne. [[spoiler: It's revealed that Thawne has been using his time travel powers to "edit" his life, murdering his brother (who he blamed for holding him back), his parents (who weren't supportive of his obsession with the Speed Force), and a professional rival. He even went so far as to essentially lobotomize a woman he was in love with, just because she rejected him.]]

** Black Lantern Firestorm (or Deathstorm) crosses the MoralEventHorizon straight into this trope within minutes of his introduction. He forces the current Firestorm, Jason Rusch, to help turn his girlfriend into salt, then rips her heart out slowly.

When she sensed J'onn's revival, her true memories returned. The first thing she did after remembering everything was to graphically murder her husband and kids. She is obsessed with the idea of reviving the Green Martian race with J'onn, and nearly killed Miss Martian whom she saw as competition for J'onn. D'kay's monstrous nature is reflected in her physical appearance; thanks to her mental instability and violent nature, her shapeshifting has a distinct [[LovecraftianSuperpower Lovecraftian]] flavor to it.

There's also Camille Baden-Smythe from ''Comicbook/{{Batman}}'' #579-581, a rich socialite who cares so little about anything other than profit that when Bruce Wayne talks about the value of helping the poor, she assumes he must be joking. When [[AntiVillain Orca]] steals Camille's 6 million dollar gem necklace [[hottip:*:so she can sell it and use the funds to fund a soup kitchen, a rehab clinic, and a daycare center]], Camille is furious at Bruce for stopping her guards from shooting through innocent bystanders to get at Orca, since she figures her lawyers could have settled the resulting wrongful death lawsuits for less than the price of the gem. In case it isn't clear yet that her personality consists entirely of heartless, unnecessarily mean-spirited greed, the rest of the story has her [[KickTheDog kick more dogs]]. First, she shows up in person to put her sweatshop workers on an 18 hour schedule to make up for labor lost during the facility's upcoming relocation. Then she visits one of the tenements she owns to bribe a building inspector to ignore the horrible living conditions. While she's there, she barges into a residence where she knows the child of one of her workers is home alone. See, she needs an arsonist to burn down a nearby aquarium so she can shut it down and move her sweatshop there. But rather than just sending one of the thugs already on her payroll to do it, she opts to bully the young boy into doing it, threatening to fire his mother and throw them both out on the street if he doesn't.

** Warren White (AKA The Great White Shark) when he first shows up in ''Arkham Asylum: Living Hell'' is a... strange example. He's a CorruptCorporateExecutive with a whole list of heinous crimes behind him (all of which happen offscreen) but after he gets imprisoned in Arkham, [[HumiliationConga the sheer amount of shit he goes through at the hands of the inmates]] makes it kinda hard not to feel sorry for the poor schmuck. That said, when half the inmates of Arkham, the warden, [[spoiler:the greatest torture lords of hell]], and perhaps most tellingly, ''the friggin' Joker'' call someone "[[RunningGag The worst person I've ever met]]" you really need to keep an eye on him. Towards the end of the series, when he [[spoiler:tricks the demons into returning to hell, but this time they'll be torturing ''each other'' and arranges it so that when he goes to hell he'll get the job of torturing the ones who treated him badly]], he earns his CompleteMonster badge. As the Joker puts it: "[[EvenEvilHasStandards Sure, I kill people, but I don't steal their kid's college funds.]]" His transition from ButtMonkey to CompleteMonster is reflected by his appearance: while locked in a freezer he loses his hair, a couple fingers, and his nose (which drives him truly insane). He later decided he might as well go all the way and made himself look even more sharklike by filing his teeth into sharp points and bleaching his skin white. He even looks like he has ''gills'' (thanks to Killer Croc, who scarred his throat for a laugh). By the end he's a hideous monster in every way possible.

* Sinestro, proof that a WellIntentionedExtremist with sympathetic motives can still be a CompleteMonster. His first appearances portray him as a ruthless AdolfHitler expy whose reign was so brutal that the GreenLantern symbol evoked the same reaction from his people that the swastika evokes in Holocaust survivors. His actions during the Sinestro Corp war cement his monstrous nature. In preparation for the war, he recruited and empowered beings all across the universe that were also monsters in their own right. Then he allied himself with an EldritchAbomination that had already destroyed the entire Multiverse once. Worst of all, he murdered Kyle Rayner's mother with a living virus just to make Kyle vulnerable to being possessed by ''another'' EldritchAbomination. Even if it were possible to justify some of his actions as necessary evils to save the universe, there is no excusing the casual cruelty and disdain he feels for others thanks to his belief that he is better than everyone else in the universe. Case in point: when he had Kyle Rayner's mother, an innocent harmless woman who had never done anything to him and was no threat to him, murdered via his living virus, he called her a cow to her son's face. When he killed the Red Lantern Lara right when it seemed like Hal Jordan had gotten past her rage, he taunted Hal about it even though they were in an EnemyMine situation because he hates Hal Jordan just that much. Most recently, when he learned that his daughter Soranik Natu had been kidnapped by the Qwardian Weaponers, he refused to help her boyfriend Kyle Rayner -- the same guy whose mother Sinestro murdered -- rescue her just because he doesn't approve of their relationship. He's willing to endanger his own daughter's life just for that. What's really scary is that he is ''still'' the most sympathetic member of his own Corp of monsters.

** Many depictions (especially modern ones) of TheJoker fall into Complete Monster territory. Like all comic book characters, this [[DependingOnTheWriter depends on the writer]] (and to some extent the actor in adaptations, with [[DarkKnightTrilogy Heath Ledger's take]] the cruelest of the lot). [[MonsterClown The Joker]] tends to bounce around between HarmlessVillain, Complete Monster, and MagnificentBastard like a pinball. He epitomizes the trope LaughablyEvil.

* Max Lord. Formerly leader of the bwahahaha-era JusticeLeague, as part of InfiniteCrisis he did a stunning FaceHeelTurn culminating with him gunning down his favorite friend from the era, Blue Beetle. For his next trick, he brainwashed Superman into nearly killing Batman, which Wonder Woman killed Max to stop.

* [[EverythingsBetterWithMonkeys Grodd]]. Take a gorilla. Now make him ungodly strong, superhumanly smart, and give him exceptionally strong psionic abilities. Sound frightening? Now make him a homicidally violent, megalomaniacal, and completely unrepentant sociopath. Yeah, not good. His most well-known feat was being the one who kickstarted Hunter Zolomon's {{Start of Darkness}} into Zoom by severely injuring him and leaving him crippled. His reputation for having both a short fuse and an incredible propensity for manipulation has made him one of the villains whom all the other villains hate and often fear, with the ones who are willing to work with him on their own volition being few and far between.
