One would assume that once [[spoiler: they actually got married]] at Season 4's end, they can finally do something. [[MakingLoveInAllTheWrongPlaces Saito's mansion should be big enough for that]].

* ''LightNovel/FullMetalPanic'':

* Taniguchi [[SorryToInterrupt barging in]] on ''LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya'', when Kyon and Yuki were, erm, ''close'' to each other could be counted as a Moment Killer. Of course, it's PlayedForLaughs. Haruhi disrupting Kyon and Mikuru ''twice'', too.
* ''LightNovel/HarukaNogizakasSecret'' uses this trope extensively, the primary offenders usually being the sister and maids who are rooting for them to get together.

* All over the place in ''LightNovel/HighSchoolDXD''. It's fair to say that every girl in [[ChivalrousPervert Issei's]] harem has moment-killed everyone else on at least one occasion. InUniverse, this is often deliberate, as the girl in the harem has a heated, but friendly rivalry over who gets to spend time with him. Out of universe, this is the author's way of adding fanservice and sexual tension to the story while dealing with a strict "no sexual content" rule from the publisher.

* ''Manga/KenichiTheMightiestDisciple'': After over 400 chapters of seemingly being oblivious to the true feelings of Kenichi, Miu finally admits that she feels similarly... only to have her [[OverprotectiveDad overprotective grandfather]] suddenly burst in, spewing intense amounts of Killing Intent, scaring the hell out of Kenichi and Miu in the process, the other Ryouzanpaku masters struggling (and failing miserably) to hold him back.

* Ageha and Tsutomu of ''Manga/ToshiueNoHito'' are university students living together after a rather fraught courtship. It could be the temporary flatmate or [[PrettyFreeloaders one or all of the members of his literature club]] or even his parents coming to see why he's living with an [[ChristmasCake older woman]], but it seems that no matter what, ''someone'' will interrupt their chance of being intimate, often as they're in the middle of taking their clothes off. [[ExplicitContent It's that kind of series]].

* In ''Manga/TheSevenDeadlySins: Seven Days'', Ban and Elaine were having a sexually-charged moment in a fountain until he dunked her in the water. Being an oblivious teenager, he didn't understand why she responded to this by calling him a big idiot and leaving to sulk on the shore.

* Inverted in ''Manga/DeathNote'', where [[MagnificentBastard Light]] wants to concentrate on the plot but his girlfriend [[MadLove Misa]] continuously has other ideas -- not that it ever goes anywhere, Light being AmbiguouslyGay at best. A general fandom favorite:

* ''Anime/CrossAnge'': In Episode 14, [[spoiler:[[BadassNormal Tusk]] and [[FallenPrincess Ange]] have a touching moment in an abandoned hotel after some disagreements, and share their FirstKiss. Both are only wearing a bedrobe each, as well, and are looking to engage TheirFirstTime, and they would've... had not Kaname and Naga, the aides of Salamandinay, arrived on the back of a [[OurDragonsAreDifferent DRAGON]]. They literally blow a hole on the wall of the hotel room, knocking Tusk and Ange over, and predictably, [[RunningGag Tusk falls into Ange's crotch]]. Ange even declares the mood killed when Tusk tries to be affectionate towards her later, with the latter being surprised with Ange once again acting her usual, prickly self.]]

* In ''LightNovel/BakaAndTestSummonTheBeasts'', when the whole building was falling down and everyone forgot that there was an ESB going on, Akihisa and Yuuji were saving their respective partners. *** It happens so many times that at one point the series double-subverts it: finding Sango downcast after an encounter with her little brother, Miroku sits beside her to comfort her, and, atypically, remains perfectly chivalrous until Sango remarks that she would have expected him to try groping her by now. Miroku being [[ChivalrousPervert Miroku]], he promptly offers to make up for his omission if she wants him to. [[ArmorPiercingSlap Guess what.]]

Just when the couple think they're about to escape with Rebecca and Falco, Smasher jumps from the tower and crushes Rebecca to death before he ultimately kills David]]. Rebecca [[LampshadedTrope lampshades this]] when she sees [[spoiler:Smasher]], clearly upset that his actions ruined what had been a heartfelt moment.

** This trope might have been taken a bit too far in the second season, where the {{Tsundere}}s, Lelouch and Kallen, rarely have ''a single conversation'' that did not go down this path (with each Moment Killer becoming more ridiculous than the one before it). It could be assumed that this really bothered the fans of this pairing. To make it even more torturous for them, the only uninterrupted conversation they have during the whole season ends with [[spoiler:Kallen kissing Lelouch, but since he's moments away from turning himself into the enemy of the entire world and doesn't want to drag her into it, he doesn't respond to any of it, leaving Kallen with the impression that he feels nothing for her, resulting in Kallen bidding him farewell and walking away, with him sadly whispering goodbye once she's out of earshot. ]]
** Ironically, in ''R2'' episode 24, [[spoiler:Lelouch and C.C. have a very touching moment together, and it's interrupted by Kallen bursting through the wall to kill Lelouch.]] A few fans joked that this was revenge for [[spoiler:C.C. interrupting a near-AccidentalKiss between Lelouch and Kallen earlier in the series in a very "mother walking in on her son and his girlfriend making out" fashion.]]

* ''LightNovel/HarukaNogizakasSecret'' uses this trope extensively, with the primary offenders usually being the sister and maids who are supposedly rooting for them to get together.

* ''Manga/MyDressUpDarling'': Whenever Marin seems to be making progress on Gojo, something inevitably spoils the mood. One example was when they're having a "home date" watching an anime series together in her room, she starts gushing and fantasizing over what could happen, only for [[GrowlingGut her stomach to growl loudly]]. Later, when they're in a LoveHotel, they're literally [[AlmostKiss a split second from making out with each other]], and the phone rings right then to inform them that their time is up.

** Then a couple of episodes later, Asuka decides she wants to try kissing Shinji using the "I'm bored" (and the "well if you're too scared to..." tactic to goad Shinji into agreeing), and then ruins the mood herself by holding his nose (the tragic part is she pinched his nose to pretend it was not a big deal in case of he rejected her. But precisely because she was trying playing it like not a big deal, Shinji did nothing, and she thought he was rejecting her).

** It frequently happens to [[AllAmazonsWantHercules Ranma and Shampoo]]. An infuriating example is when Ranma is about to kiss her because, if he doesn't, she'll [[BalefulPolymorph turn into a cat]] [[AndIMustScream and be stuck like that forever as the bride of a huge ghost cat]]. Just as Ranma is almost finished working on building up the nerve to kiss her, [[ClingyJealousGirl Akane]] [[{{Tsundere}} hits him]] and tells him [[{{Hypocrite}} not to get carried away, despite having guilted him into coming to save her in the first place]].

* ''Manga/EvenIfItWasJustOnceIRegretIt'': Chiyo's cellphone rings just as the Landlady was about to confess that she loved Chiyo.

*** In ''Anime/ClockworkIslandAdventure'', Sanji tells Nami that he feels ashamed of the fact he couldn't save her using only his own strength like he wanted to instead of getting captured alongside her, with Nami being visibly moved. Sanji then loses control of his fantasies and loudly imagines [[RescueRomance Nami embracing him]] and doing "this and that" together, leaving Nami annoyed at the moodshift.
*** In one of the Boss-Luffy specials, Sanji confronts a sulking Nami and they both have a moment of mutual affection, which is ruined when two beautiful women walk in and Sanji is unable to stop himself from flirting with them, with Nami angrily leaving the room and Sanji realizing his mistake.

* ''Manga/OnePiece'': Sanji ([[ItMakesSenseInContext in Nami's body]]) slips on some ice. Zoro grabs his hand to stop him from falling. [[FoeRomanceSubtext They stare into each other's eyes for a moment]]...then Brook loudly {{Squee}}s over [[ShipperOnDeck how romantic it is]] and Zoro drops Sanji like he's on fire.

* ''Manga/ShonanJunaiGumi'': Just as Ryuji and Eikichi are about to lose their virginities with a couple of hot college girls, they both have a PottyEmergency and have to run to the bathroom.

* In ''Manga/BlackBird'' a fair bit of what keeps Kyo and Misao from having hot demon sex is unexpected and ill-timed interruptions by his servants while the couple are making out and really, really horny.

** Every time Touya starts to tell Yukito about his other self (in their YaoiGuys pose), someone interrupts. Of course, the interruption is usually deliberate. For what [[BigBrotherInstinct Touya]] is to [[MagicalGirl Sakura]], [[ChineseGirl Meilin]] is to [[TheLancer Syaoran]].

** Inu-Yasha and Kagome aren't quite as bad, but they catch their share of examples:

When he does, she's [[{{Fanservice}} totally naked]], so he [[LuminescentBlush blushes furiously]], throws her his kimono, [[OnlyAFleshWound insists he's fine despite his numerous wounds]] and promptly collapses from blood loss.
