While Yuno is selfless and cares for his squad, Zenon is merciless and derides his Dark Disciples for being weak. This is enhanced even further when Zenon's backstory is revealed and we see that initially, he was very much like Yuno, complete with his own FriendlyRival version of Asta. However, when he was forced to kill said rival to defeat a devil that would have slaughtered thousands, he fell into despair and accepted his family's influence. Zenon is essentially what Yuno might have become if he'd ever lost Asta.

** Naruto and Gaara. Their arc (and their eventual friendship) is based on them being similar (both are outcasts from their villages who deep down just want friendship, both are the containers of powerful monsters who make them unstoppable in battle but whose power they cannot control, and both must eventually learn to define themselves outside of their roles as those containers) even though outwardly they couldn't be more different- Naruto is friendly, loud, and oblivious to those around him, while Gaara in initially a very quiet borderline sociopath whose only emotions are rage and boredom when he isn't killing. After meeting Naruto and realizing that its possible to ''not'' listen to the monster sealed inside him telling him to kill and that if he did, people besides that monster might come to like him, Gaara begins CharacterDevelopment that leads him to becoming much more compassionate and gentle, while Naruto in turn eventually learns to take things more seriously and be more humble.

** Season 2 introduced Mr. BLACK / Subaru Sengoku and He Is Thomas / Thomas Taurus, who are mirros of Kotetsu and Barnaby respectively.
*** Subaru shares the same struggle to earn points and stuck teaming up with a supposedly more effective and profitable partner. He also voices his contempt at the ratings and profits focused angle of Sternbild's hero business, in the same way Kotetsu refuses to let those aspects get in the way of helping others. However, he lacks the same maturity and experience that Kotetsu has and is more brash and hot-headed.
*** Thomas has the same background of being orphaned at a young age, went through The Hero Academy to become a professional hero, and is socially closed off from colleagues. Even his hero name uses his real name, similar to ''Barnaby''. The difference is that while Barnaby was isolated and didn't have much of a choice in trusting people due to manipulations by outside forces, Thomas is ''choosing'' not to trust anyone.

** Nagato was remarkably similar to Naruto. Both were orphaned at a young age, struggled with loneliness, displayed great camaraderie, and were able to rally up a group of followers for their lifelong goal of world peace. To further their similarities, they were trained by Jiraiya, and in one of Jiraiya's novels, a character named "Naruto" was based on Nagato himself.

** Obito is also one to Kakashi given their past history together, similar (superficial) trickster personality traits, and the same Sharingan abilities. As he holds Obito at knifepoint, Kakashi explicitly admits that he could have very well sunken into the same mindset of despair and hopelessness that Obito did after Rin died, but it was the fact that Obito entrusted him with his eye and indirectly, Obito's hopes for a better world for Rin, that made him keep going.

** Sherlock Holmes and Professor William James Moriarty, both nearly incomparably brilliant men, protective of the weak and set on bringing justice, change, and equality to the British Empire, and both capable of horrible, horrible acts of murder. But, in addition to knowing different martial arts, Kazuha is a jealous {{Tsundere}} who regularly get into [[TheMasochismTango major blowups]] with Heiji in a way unimaginable for a NiceGirl like Ran.
** Heiji's dad, Heizo, is a better detective than his son, much like the relationship between Shinichi and his father, Yusaku. However, Yusaku is a laid-back man who doesn't help with Conan's cases because he isn't physically present most of the time. Heizo is ''physically'' present in Heiji's life... he's just kind of a dick.

Shizuka and Yukiko are both ex-celebrites (Yukiko an actress, Shizuka a karuta champion) who are still famed for their beauty, but Yukiko is modern, energetic, and flighty, while Shizuka is traditional, stern, and has an iron will.
