** Lyn's Alts/Lyn Emblem. [[note]]Lyn is notorious for having a lot of alts in Fire Emblem Heroes, currently tying with Camilla for having the most alts out of all units with a total of nine so far: Normal, Bridal, Brave, Valentine's, Legendary, Summer, Ninja (duo with Florina), Flame Tribe, and Young (as the cheerleader for Mark, but since Mark doesn't have any voice lines, [[LoopholeAbuse she's arguably the more prominent of the two]]). This has been very controversial in the community, with many people complaining that Lyn has too many alts.[[/note]]

* Camilla's alts/Camilla Emblem.[[labelnote:Explanation]]Much like Lyn above, Camilla holds nine alts so far: the base Camilla, Spring, New Year, Summer, Adrift, Hot Spring, Brave, Pirate (albeit as the cheerleader for Hinoka), and Ninja Wyvern. This has also been very controversial among the community, especially for those who wanted a stop to Camilla alts, yet managed to give her 2nd place in CYL 3, giving another alt.[[/labelnote]]

* 52nd Weekly Revival Banner Jumpscare[[note]][[https://i.gyazo.com/cd51f8e1e2a2d0187c30acce509f60a4.jpg The image of this banner]], featuring Brave Camilla, Regular Male Byleth, and Brave Eliwood, became a source of various memes for unintentionally scaring many players upon either booting the game or opening up the summoning tab on July 3rd, 2022. This is due to the fact that all of them are staring directly at the screen, but the way Male Byleth was positioned, with his whole body facing forward, is the biggest cause of the jumpscare. The banner returned once again on March 5th, 2023, and not without this infamous banner image.[[/note]]

* Senator Maria [[VideoGame/MetalGearRising Armstrong]]. [[note]]Spring Maria has DamageReduction built into her weapon like many units, but unlike most DamageReduction that compares difference between unit/enemy stats, hers reduces damage by a fixed amount based on only her own stats -- a [[LoopholeAbuse loophole]] that ignores all anti-Damage Reduction skills since those only negate the ''former'' formula. With enough buffs from allies, Spring Maria is ''[[https://youtu.be/n91kH_MpuJs practically immune to physical damage]]'' if there isn't a Def-reducing Special involved (Luna, Lethality, etc.). The linked video is [[NotHyperbole not an exaggeration]], having gone off of an actual '''99x4''' damage forecast where GameBreaker Legendary Marth broke the damage scale, has color advantage, and activated his Special ''twice''; Spring Maria still took 0 damage.[[/note]]

* [=#FEHZappyHolidays=][[labelnote:Explanation]]Winter 2023 heralded another round of FEH Santa, much like Sothis, Hilda, Lysithea/Lute and Black Knight in prior years. This time, playing off one of her catchphrases and the phrase "Happy Holidays," Yunaka took the reigns.[[/labelnote]]

* "That silhouette's obviously X."[[note]]Intelligent Systems teases the next seasonal banners by releasing a picture containing black silhouettes of two characters before the video trailer comes out. While some obvious features of certain characters can be seen in some of them, others are not as obvious. When there are still speculations of who those characters are, fan jokingly use it to fit anyone, or anything, in that pose, from a pick of likely, to unlikely, to completely ridiculous and impossible. For an example of the latter, fans jokingly said that one silhouette on the Summer Returns banner (which was revealed be Summer Helbindi) was [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Donkey Kong]].[[/note]]

* Ratatta [[labelnote:Explanation]] The new free unit from Book VIII is named Ratatoskr, but being a CuteMonsterGirl classified as a Beast unit caused players to nickname her after the Pokémon Ratatta. It seems that [[AscendedMeme even the devs realized this,]] as her visitor line has her mistakenly introduce herself as ‘Ratatata’ before correcting herself.

* [[https://i.redd.it/ry1m22639v361.png Fáfnir's insane screaming face]][[note]]Ever since the Book V announcement was made in early December 2020, the shot of Fáfnir's face when he was screaming in the Book V movie quickly became a reaction image for people to use, commonly in frustration, such as when someone forgets using their arrows in Mjölnir's Strike.[[/note]]
** Fáfnir's SlasherSmile has also been subject to a lot of memes due to how hilarious and creepy it is at the same time. Most memes include splicing the face onto another character.

* Green Unit = True Villain.[[labelnote:Explanation (spoilers!)]]It's noted that the [[ArcVillain main antagonists]] of Books I-V (Veronica, Surtr, Hel, Freyja, and Eitri) are all Green Units, which will lose in the TacticalRockPaperScissors with Red Units... and that's the unit color for Alfonse, also prepping up for his MemeticBadass credentials so he can beat them more easily in-game (while at the same time prepping up Sharena's MemeticLoser credentials as she has a disadvantage against them). When Fáfnir's class was revealed to be a Blue Lance Cavalier, people doubted that he truly was the true villain or FinalBoss material for Book V, aside of how he might be just merely BrainwashedAndCrazy by his looks and attitude. This made the fandom at first throw their suspicion to Ótr, who's a Green Axe Cavalier, predicting that eventually he's going to be TheStarscream for his own brother or revealed as a ManipulativeBastard, the true villain of Book V (he's not the true villain, but he IS an unrepentant villain). When Dagr made her first appearance in Book V, people jokingly said she was actually the main villain. Chapter 6 however, reveals that Eitri was the true villain after all, and she continues this trend as a Green Tome unit. Book VI once again headed to this trend to which Letizia is a Green Unit, but after her death, Embla came in and was revealed to be a ''Red'' unit, finally ending this trend once and for all.[[/labelnote]]

* The April Fools Day 2021 video that featured Fáfnir and Reginn dancing has spawned numerous edits that replaced the techno remix of Book V's map theme with another song, such as [[VideoGame/Persona4 Specialist]] and [[VideoGame/Yakuza0 Friday Night]].

* Male ''Heroes'' OC? Say goodbye.[[labelnote:Explanation (spoilers for all Books)]]A trend that has not escaped the fanbase's notice is how male original characters from ''Heroes'' tend to be treated in the story. They're either lacking in screentime (Hríd and Elm), dead (Surtr, Helbindi, Freyr, Fáfnir, Ótr, Bruno, and Njörðr), or both (Gustav and Askr). Alfonse and his alternate universe counterpart Líf are exceptions to this trend and have been noted to have PlotArmor, due to the former being the main protagonist and the latter being an AlternateSelf of the protagonist and being crucial to the plot.[[/labelnote]]
** Older Sibling Syndrome.[[labelnote:Explanation (spoilers for all Books)]]On a similar note, players have noticed that whenever a new character is introduced as the character's older sibling, they are doomed to die later in the story (so far this includes Gunnthrá, Laegjarn (until Ice & Flame), Triandra (before she was revived), Ótr, Fáfnir, Nótt, Letizia, and Bruno). This led to many people saying that both male characters and older sibling characters are cursed to die. So far, the only older sibling to remain unscathed is Seiðr, as Heiðr (Who acts as her "younger sibling") was the one who died instead, and even then, Seiðr's still screwed.[[/labelnote]]

** Cow Daddy's dancing lessons[[labelnote:Explanation (Book VI Chapter 10 spoilers!)]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFhdwUJJJP8 The 2023 April Fool's video]] features a dancing lesson involving [[CuteClumsyGirl Seiðr]], [[FitnessNut Alfred]], [[CuteButCacophonic Timerra]], The Summoner, and... Considering his death in the aforementioned chapter, Players joked that Askr single-handedly [[BackFromTheDead resurrected himself]] to make a sick dancing lesson for his nation.[[/labelnote]]

This spurred a number of exaggerated jokes that most, if not all, of the characters in Book VII (except for with Njörðr and Nerþuz) are actually just Gullveig, owing to the fact that the whole situation with Kvasir/Seiðr/Gullveig is considered by many to be [[MindScrew very confusing.]][[/labelnote]]
* [[BabiesEverAfter "Would you create a child with me?"]] [[labelnote:Explanation (Book VII spoilers!)]]This line from Seiðr in chapter 8 garnered a wide range of mockery for the sheer awkwardness and bluntness of the delivery, which doesn't help that in context, she wants to have a baby with the ''Summoner'' through magical means, [[MandatoryMotherhood per Njörðr's request to bear a child]]. It also caused WildMassGuessing about ''Gullveig'' potentially being the Summoner's child, immediately causing {{Squick}} reactions to both her flirty behavior towards the summoner in the Book's opening movie as well as her victory in [=CYL7=] (though that last one [[HoistByHisOwnPetard is the playerbase's own fault]]), and this is later followed by the release of chapter 2, with the reveal that '''''Kvasir''''' is the younger version of Gullveig who resembles both Seiðr and the summoner, causing another group of people to think that she's Seiðr's daughter. Both of them ended up being Jossed, when it was confirmed that Seiðr's own sister, '''''Heiðr''''', is her daughter from the future, and both Kvasir and Gullveig are just Seiðr from different points in time, though that ended up generating a ton of confusion.[[/labelnote]]
** Njörðr [[Franchise/ResidentEvil Redfield]] [[labelnote:Explanation]]A sister meme of the above. Since Njörðr is the one who requested that Seiðr have a child with the Summoner in the first place, some players have compared this scenario to [[Memes/ResidentEvil Chrisposting]], with Njörðr replacing Chris Redfield, Seiðr replacing Chris's sister Claire, and the Summoner replacing Leon Kennedy.[[/labelnote]]
* [[NonMammalMammaries Sniddies]][[labelnote:Explanation]]The breasts visible on Heiðr's monster form has spawned a joke nickname from players for looking a bit too out of place on a monster design with multiple snake heads. The fact that the design looks very humanoid doesn't help.[[/labelnote]]

* King Navarre of Askr.[[note]]During the fifth installment of Mjölnir's Strike, Navarre managed to defeat Alfonse and his army during the Counter Phase, to the surprise of everyone. This meme quickly spread jokes about Navarre being the new ruler of Askr, having usurped Alfonse from the throne.[[/note]]

* "I am Vyland of Aurelis, one of the Coyote's Men." [[note]] This bit of dialogue plays at the beginning of Chapter 12-4, just after the extremely serious Chapter 12-3 in which [[spoiler: Nótt is killed protecting Dagr from Fáfnir]]. Fans were very quick to mock this line for its [[{{Narm}} unintentional hilarity]] due to coming after such a tragic moment, and it's often used to illustrate how poorly integrated the summonable characters are in the story. And of course, all of this is helped by Vyland being a FountainOfMemes in his home game. [[/note]]

* Kentucky Fried Fae [[note]]On top of the preexisting chicken jokes, this began circulating in response to Fae receiving a Legendary alt, which magnified even ''more'' upon the reveal of Resplendent Fae, with an outfit based on Múspell, of all things.[[/note]]

** [=#BlackKnightTweets=] [[labelnote:Explanation]]Like Sothis, Hilda and Lysithea/Lute in 2019, 2020 and 2021 respectively, 2022 saw one of the current Winter Banner units take over for a while. To the surprise of many, it wasn't Cordelia and Selena (the Harmonic), nor was it Dorothea or Annette (the Fódlan girls)... but instead, the Black Knight got to take the reins! Yet again, like previous years, everyone was sad to see him go, and he left summon tickets in his wake.[[/labelnote]]

* Xander Sweep[[labelnote:Explanation]]Legendary Xander, while being a long awaited alt for his fans, was one of the worst selling banners of 2022, even lower than the former bottom man Ótr. The fact that he was released recently after the ''extremely'' popular Summer Dimitri, has the ''exact same unit type and statline as him'' (both being axe cavalry units), and most of his bannermates not being very popular picks likely contributed to this. Jokes were immediately made in the same air as Film/{{Morbius|2022}}.[[/labelnote]]

Even though [[GameplayAndStorySegregation this never happens to playable units]] in either of the Fódlan games or ''Heroes'', many players immediately began joking that inheriting Arcane Lúin will turn its recipient into a Beast unit to keep consitent with its lore.[[/labelnote]]

* Chloé wants Gullveig for dinner. [[labelnote:Explanation]] Chloé from Fire Emblem Engage has [[BizarreTasteInFood strange tastes in food]], including deep fried snakes. Given that Book VII’s main villain [[GorgeousGorgon has snakes in her hair]], it’s joked that Chloé wants to cook and eat her.[[/labelnote]]

* "Gunnthrá killed Canas" / using Gunnthrá to defeat Canas in battles. [[labelnote:Note (spoilers for Blazing Blade)]]Canas' ending in ''VideoGame/FireEmblemTheBlazingBlade'' notes that he and his unnamed wife perished while trying to stop a snowstorm and Gunnthrá's unique weapon is a tome simply called 'Blizzard', leading to fans making jokes that it was actually Gunnthrá that killed Canas. When Canas was actually added to ''Heroes'' the jokes only increased in popularity and quantity.[[/labelnote]]

* [[Series/WandaVision It's been Eitri all along.]] [[labelnote:Explanation (Major spoilers for [=WandaVision=] AND Book V!)]]When Book V, Chapter 6 revealed that Eitri was the true villain of the story, fans noted the similarities between her and Agatha Harkness from the show. As the twist villain of the show was a witch with a catchy VillainSong, fans were quick to compare Eitri to Agatha. It also doesn't help that Eitri was also the one who summoned Fáfnir in the first place with her imitation Breidablik, meaning that everything that happened within Book V really was all her doing.[[/labelnote]]

* "Quick everyone, act surprised!"[[note]]A common reaction on Reddit and forums whenever a banner trailer is shown, but the units revealed were leaked or datamined from an update that was released before the trailer, and spoiling players curious of the contents of the datamine beforehand. Examples include the leaked New Year's alts upon Legendary Azura being released, and the leaked Legendary Julia notification. This meme saw a resurgence when ''everyone'' knew that the next Mythic Hero in late September 2021 was going to be Ótr, due to how A: The next Mythic Hero was most likely Green due to Legendary Male Byleth being rerun on the same banner, and B: Ótr had just died in the story of Book V.[[/note]]

** Røkkr Remnant [[note]]These various multicolored accessories are obtained upon dealing 150,000 total damage to a Røkkr in a single battle. Since it covers up one of the eyes of the wearer, it has been compared to [[{{VideoGame/Undertale}} Sans]], especially the Lance Røkkr Remnant, which matches the color of Sans's eye.[[/note]]

* Vaike the forgotten[[labelnote:Explanation]]While other characters from ''Awakening'' have been steadily added to the game over the years, the fanbase noticed how the fairly popular Vaike ''still'' has yet to make an appearance even after nearly ''six'' years. The trailer for Rearmed Female Grima and Ascended Eir further kicked this meme into overdrive by adding in ''Phila,'' a rather forgettable minor character who quickly gets killed off in the story, instead of the much more recognizable Vaike, with Vaike being one of the five Awakening characters votable on Choose your Legends still not in the game after that banner, as well as being the last first-generation Shepard still absent after Kellam got on the 2023 Halloween Banner, making Vaike's absence all the more noticeable[[/labelnote]]

[[labelnote:Explanation]] Similar to the above meme, the remaining members of ''Awakening`s'' cast still not in ''Heroes'' have become straight up [[{{MemeticLoser}} Memetic Losers]], being the last characters yet to be added of the game most likely to finish its core cast off first, thus making them the bottom of the barrel in terms of ''Awakening`s'' popularity, at least according to I.S. As such, memes making fun of these five for being forgotten are very common. Poor Kellam, in particular, bears the brunt of these memes, as his status as TheNondescript in his home game makes him being forgotten rather appropriate, with a good amount of the fanbase jokingly pretending he doesn't even exist, and even ''Heroes itself'' forgetting to namedrop him during the ''Depths of Despair'' Forging Bonds, in which every other first-gen Shepherd, even Vaike, got mentioned. The linked video is not an exaggeration, having gone off of an actual '''99x4''' damage forecast where GameBreaker Legendary Marth broke the damage scale, has color advantage, and activated his Special ''twice''; Spring Maria still took 0 damage.[[/note]]

** "Armads."[[note]]During the Love Abounds event, the rest of the major Elibe characters show up to the event wielding typical event joke weapons. Hector?... He brings his legendary weapon. In-universe. His deadpan, straight delivery of the answer to being asked what he brought as a weapon became instantly memetic, helped by Hector being a bit of a meme himself to start with.[[/note]]

* Fjorm and Fiora's Forging Bonds conversations have been a source of a lot of memes, notably because of [[{{Hypocrite}} Fiora calling Fjorm out because of her skirt being too short]]. As well as this, people have jokingly called Fiora a [[SlutShaming slut shamer]], shutting down anything remotely lewd, or jokingly said is lewd, such as hand-holding.

* Male ''Heroes'' OC? They're either lacking in screentime (Hríd and Elm), dead (Surtr, Helbindi, Freyr, Fáfnir, Ótr, and Bruno), or both (Gustav and Askr). Alfonse and his alternate universe counterpart Líf are exceptions to this trend, mainly due to the former [[PlotArmor being the main protagonist and the latter being an]] AlternateSelf [[PlotArmor of the protagonist and being crucial to the plot]].[[/labelnote]]
