The end result was a being left tormented by her unjust death, constantly living everyday with those horrible memories. This is only made worse by the fact that she was well and truly alone--even normal Yuuko couldn't see her, and when she did, tried to ignore her, and would forcibly forget about her when she did. And because of the way she normally appeared, most people ran from her when they did see her, Also, being Yuuko's negative emotions, that means that she didn't have any of the good ones throughout her entire time. Shadow Yuuko constantly belabors the point that she had no comfort at all through this time.]] Word are practically insufficient to convey how utterly terrible this poor girl's existence was.

* AdaptationalHeroism: In the anime, [[spoiler: Yukariko does not betray her sister Yuuko is never portrayed as being anything less than a kindly old lady who's always willing to help the Paranormal Investigations Club.]]

* OvertookTheManga: The first nine episodes are very loyal to the manga, but the anime goes in a somewhat different direction from episode 10 onward. It's a mild example, as it still sticks to the story and characters of the original manga.

* SupportingHarem: Since the beginning it's obvious Yuuko is the girl that will end up with Teiichi. Okonogi and Kirie never had a chance.
