Administrivia/TropesAreFlexible: This trope not only covers socks, but thigh high boots as well. An ActionGirl may trade the skirt for [[WhoWearsShortShorts hotpants]] or other short bottoms[[note]]However, it should not be too short like a leotard, or it'll mess the ratio[[/note]], but if it doesn't include thigh-highs and visible skin, it's not Zettai Ryouiki.

** Maid outfits (paired mostly with CombatStilettos) are particularly prone to this; sometimes the stockings paired with it come with garterbelts to weaken it somewhat.

* Allison Argent in ''Series/TeenWolf'' seems to have a fondness for short skirts and long hose, though the hose have been scanter of late.

* In Andrew Bird's song "Fake Palindromes", the girl's got red lipstick and a bright pair of shoes; she's got knee high socks, what to cover a bruise. She's also got blood in her eyes...

** Nearly every single fan-made variant of Miku Hatsune (Zatsune, Zumi Hatsune, Kiku Juon, Sai Tonarine, and Kiru Meikane are a few examples) has Grade A, and usually has pigtails. Neru Akita has Grade A thigh-highs (boots), a tsundere personality, but unfortunately, only a side ponytail. Disappointing, but she (aside from Miku) is the closest you'll get to Grade S when it comes to Vocaloid.

* Blue Destiny's uniform in ''Webcomic/M9Girls'' is a type A. From all the M9 Girls, her uniform is the one that mostly resembles a classical MagicalGirl attire.

* Stacy of ''WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb'' switches between grade B and common knee high socks.

* Lana and Katya, both Action Girls from ''WesternAnimation/{{Archer}}''. Lana's outfit, however, usually consists of a short skirt and thigh high boots, while Katya actually wears stockings.

* ''WesternAnimation/CodeLyoko'': Only in the first episode; knee-high stripped socks and a miniskirt are part of the clothes Yumi Ishiyama wears for the school dance.

She ''appears'' to have Grade A (and is a tsundere), but in much of the official art, the area between her socks and her skirt is whiter than her arms and face, suggesting she might also be wearing tights. On the other hand, much is made of her pale skin in the game and her natural hair color is white, suggesting that she might be [[HeroicAlbino an albino]], so perhaps that actually ''is'' her skin tone and the greater amount of color elsewhere is ''also'' not natural.
** Serah from ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIII''.
** From ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyX'', it's hard to tell because of the [[TooManyBelts belts]] on Lulu's dress, but she's wearing lacy thigh high stockings underneath and her dress has a miniskirt.

[[ForeignFanservice American]] Tiffany Lords on the other hand, gets a hot pants + boots version of this with her new costume in ''Project Justice''.

* The cindercloth pants, in ''VideoGame/WorldofWarcraft'' produce this effect on a female model when paired with the various mini-skirt length belts. It occurs on ALL the female models, even those that are not conventionally attractive: but not on any of the male models (even the ones that do tend to get skimpy armor). The NPCs Valeera Sanguinaar and High Inquisitor Whitemane also wear thigh-high stockings: though without the skirt. Some plate armor pieces allow this effect even on male models. For whatever reason, it's always a Grade A.
