* The ''entire'' female student body in ''Manga/YourAndMySecret''. Due to hijinks relating to the body-switch premise of the manga, Momoi (in Uehara’s body) jumped on stage during a school production to stop a kiss between Uehara (in her body) and Senbongi and said she was jealous of all the time Uehara got to spend with Senbongi. All the girls in the audience got flustered, and the male student body president spent the whole night mass-producing yaoi manga of the two, which all the girls were shown reading and buying multiple copies of. Later, when Senbongi rebuffs the advances of some girls by saying he’s interested in someone else, they excitedly ask if it’s Uehara, and say they’d encourage such a relationship.

* In ''Manga/FairyTail'', the only thing that can make Juvia more of a SmittenTeenageGirl around Gray than she usually is (and that is quite saying something), is when he gets some ShipTease ([[ShippingGoggles at least what is ship tease from her point of view]], not necessarily from the audience's point of view) with another guy, usually Lyon. In the most recent OVA, she even has a hefty {{nosebleed}} when she thinks Gray is kissing with another guy. It is quite noteworthy with how grumpy she usually gets when Gray is just talking to other girls.

* Gaea from ''Franchise/{{Noob}}'' [[ShippingGoggles keeps picturing a romance]] between her HeroWorshipper guildmate and TheAce. The fact that her guildmate is AmbiguouslyGay and that the other guy ''is'' TheNotLoveInterest to him is far from helping matters.

* In ''[[https://archiveofourown.org/works/34346623/chapters/86622685 Hawkmoth Gets a Reference]]'', to lure out the Akuma [[ShipperOnDeck Shipmaster]], the heroes try to shout out phrases that are counteractive to her ships. [[GroundhogDayLoop In the second loop]], Vipereon says that he ships Adrichat (Adrien x Chat Noir), which would be against Shipmaster's ships of both Adrinette and Ladynoir. Ladybug gets a {{Nosebleed}} after thinking about it, and then Shipmaster charges towards Vipereon demanding all the details. [[ScrewThisImOutOfHere Viperion turns back time]], uses another loop to recover from the ordeal, and lets Chat do his original lure statement[[note]][[ObliviousToLove "She's just a friend"]][[/note]] then vows to take any reference of Adrichat [[LetUsNeverSpeakOfThisAgain to the grave]].

* Pretty much a universal phenomenon among fan fiction writers. Possible reasons include [[MenActWomenAre a lack of interesting female characters]] [[SmurfettePrinciple in the main cast]] of many works, the fact that many male friendships in fiction are closer to a respectful, equal romantic relationships than the relationships between men and women that are portrayed as romantic, internalized misogyny in female writers, using it as a (relatively) safe way to explore sexuality and gender identity, and simply just finding it hot. Of course, a relationship between two men can also be PlayedForDrama in homophobic settings, but this isn't done often enough to completely explain the phenomenon.

* The cover of one ''Vertigo: Winter's Edge'' has [[ComicBook/TheSandman Death of the Endless]] playing with action figures of [[ComicBook/{{Hellblazer}} John Constantine]] and [[ComicBook/{{Transmetropolitan}} Spider Jerusalem]], and looking as if she's about to make them kiss.

When the two stage a public breakup, they move on to drawing sad fanart of the two. Not only is the topic of Yaoi discussed at the beginning of the episode (including terminology such as Uke and Seme), but all the art seen in the episode was [[OfficialFanSubmittedContent submitted by fans at the request of the creators]].
* Mabel from ''WesternAnimation/GravityFalls'' is about as strongly implied as one can be in a Disney show. In "The Deep End" she rather enthusiastically takes a photo of her own brother doing a CPR on her love interest (though also for potential blackmail), and the original intention for her rainbow sweater in "The Love God" was to show her support of same-sex love.
* Peridot of ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse'' watched a single episode of ''[[ShowWithinAShow Camp Pining Hearts]]'' on repeat for three days, and her OTP ended up being Percy x Pierre. She even completed charts and graphs on the subject! However, rather than picking the two for romantic compatibility, she chose them because they're the strongest campers and thus would make the strongest pairing.

* ''Literature/ImTheEvilLordOfAnIntergalacticEmpire'': Starting in the arc where Liam trains under House Razel, there is a RunningGag of women delighting in the close relationship between Liam and Kurt. Liam himself sees it as an opportunity to make money and sell photoshoots.

* ''Literature/TrappedInADatingSimTheWorldOfOtomeGamesIsToughForMobs'': Marie, [[ReincarnateInAnotherWorld holding over from her past-life]], has fantasies about the five princes around her like this. Since it's a MediaTransmigration story, it's mentioned that the game had scenes teasing it between the male LoveInterests.

* Jeremy from ''Literature/MayTheBestManWin'' saw himself as one before he realized he was transgender. He obsessively watched yaoi anime and read SlashFic and gay romance novels, and dreamed he was one of the boys from the stories. At first he thought he was just a clueless straight girl fetishizing gay men. It took him a long time to figure out that the reason he liked reading about gay boys so much was because he was one.

* [[DarkChick Chloe]] and (to some extent) [[{{Ojou}} Lily]] from ''VideoGame/ManaKhemia2FallOfAlchemy''. Then again, this game makes fun of yaoi fandom in general.

** Hiyori is a [[AnythingThatMoves yuri/yaoi]] fangirl; while it's usually her YuriFan tendencies that are on display, at one point she accidentally uses the terms "{{seme}}" and "{{uke}}" when describing positions in dodgeball and she's mortified when she realizes what she just said.

* Episode 3 of ''LightNovel/HumanityHasDeclined''. It starts with just [[OneLetterName Y]] but progresses to the equivalent of a Comiket's worth.

* In ''Film/ThePrincessDiaries 2'' (which is a Disney movie aimed at pre-teen girls, just so we're clear), there is a scene where Mia and her best friend Lilly are looking at prospective princes. Mia remarks that one prince shown is cute, to which her bodyguard Joseph replies, "His boyfriend thinks so too." Mia and Lilly's reaction is... enthusiastic.

* George Blagden, who played Grantaire in the [[Film/LesMiserables2012 2012 film adaptation]] if ''Theatre/LesMiserables'' seems VERY fond of the Enjolras×Grantaire ship. This became very noticable when he uploaded a video onto his youtube channel of him covering the song Hallelujiah (which can be interpreted as being sung from the POV of a man who fell in love with another man) and then [[Music/DeathCabForCutie I Will Follow You Into the Dark]] and changing some lyrics so it was blatantly about E/R

* The second season of ''Literature/NyarukoCrawlingWithLove'''s anime adaptation, ''Haiyore Nyarko-San W'', has a CanonForeigner named Tsuruko who's part of an alien doujin circle and wrote a yaoi book about the series' male lead Mahiro. Over the course of the season, she makes several attempts to meet him in person... never realizing that he'd be '''far''' from happy to see her (his reaction to the doujin was utter horror and disgust, followed by [[KillItWithFire burning it]]).

On the album's cover are two [[TheIlluminati alleged Illuminati symbols]] of bisexuality. They are the checkerboard table and the purple dress that she's wearing; [[ConspiracyTheorist Conspiracy theorists]] will have you believe that both the checkerboard table and purple dress indicate that she's pushing [[TheIlluminati the Illuminati's]] [[UsefulNotes/ConspiracyTheories gay agenda]] and that she endorses [[GuyOnGuyIsHot male bisexuality]].

* Suruga Kanbaru of ''LightNovel/{{Bakemonogatari}}'' is a fan of BL, and in the light novels it's mentioned that there are some BL novels strewn around her room. The anime adaptation takes this even further, as she's shown to have an enormous collection of issues of ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barazoku Barazoku]]'', a now defunct {{bara|genre}} magazine. Interestingly enough, she's attracted to girls (though her behaviour towards Koyomi [[AmbiguouslyBi suggests she may actually be bisexual]]), but then again, there are many lesbian yaoi fangirls.
