The entire situation is less a commentary on society's shallow perceptions of beauty but more that if you aren't beautiful and perfect in everything you then you're worthless.

Pixar deleted the Tweet in response to the backlash.

* Because of all the praise regarding the same-sex parents in the trailer for ''WesternAnimation/TheBoxtrolls'', some people may be disappointed when they find out the film had some uncomfortable transphobic implications, including playing the reveal of the cross-dressing character as a textbook UnsettlingGenderReveal.
