* {{Rocky}} II, when Adrianne falls comatose from stress over her husband's return to the ring and having to work while pregnant, Rocky begins a vigil broken only by visits to the church to pray, neglecting his training for the big rematch against Apollo.

If a character in fiction (usually a good guy) is in a coma, unconscious, had their {{Soul}} stolen, just had major surgery or whatever, then the odds are they're going to have a friend or family member who point blank refuses to leave their side in spite of the usual needs to sleep, eat, use the bathroom, or save the world, and regardless of the fact that visiting time ended seven hours ago. Numerous attempts from other well meaning characters to get them to go and get some rest for five damn minutes always fail. The friend or family member isn't going ''anywhere''.
