Not that Ms. Bergen doesn't clean up ''very'' nicely (just watch ''BostonLegal''!), but there's something about that model's body in oversized clothes and those cheekbones and that flyaway blonde hair and that [[WhenSheSmiles smile]] and... [[EvenTheGirlsWantHer okay, shutting up]].

* L from DeathNote looks like he just crawled out from under the bed with hair that he probably never brushes, solid black eyes, extreme bags under said eyes, wears the same plain, baggy clothing every single day, is extremely pale/thin, and never wears shoes. That doesn't stop him from being EstrogenBrigadeBait.
** In the DeathNote vein, right after being released from fifty or so weeks of captivity [[GenkiGirl Misa]] [[PerkyGoth Amane]] spends the entirety of the next scene without her hair in her customary GirlishPigtails, not wearing a bit of makeup, and wearing what looks like baggy, plain white pyjamas. In this troper's humble opinion, she looks much cuter than [[{{Kawaiiko}} when she's actually trying]].

** This may actually be a trait of the actress herself; Summer Glau seems more attractive and beautiful ''without'' makeup. This is especially noticable with her characters in ''TheSarahConnorChronicles'' and is rather striking in ''[[LifetimeMovieOfTheWeek Deadly Honeymoon]]'', where there are scenes showing the characters without much makeup and later with it - and the difference is amazing. With the makeup, Summer looks like a doll, while without it, she looks very real and natural.

** On the same note, Firefly usually had Jewel Staite in homey overalls and occasionally covered in grease, but Lord help me if I wouldn't take her over Morena Baccarin, who was always dressed and groomed like a princess (which isn't to say Morena Baccarin wouldn't also be nice).

* Summer from ''Power Rangers RPM''. In flashbacks to her old life as a RichBitch she looks alright all dolled up in a party dress and loads of make-up but many will agree she's much hotter in her biker gear with her hair loose and a little bit of dirt.

* LadyGaga never looked prettier than in that shot of the Bad Romance video where she's only wearing mascara and no weird makeup or clothes.

* The NoDoubt music video for ''Underneath It All'' shows GwenStefani gradually wearing more "plain" clothing and makeup, becoming more attractive with each step.

* From other characters' dialogue in NeverwinterNights2, Elanee (being a druid) is constantly rather dirty, has never touched a comb/toothbrush in her life, and smells rather earthy. She is also really quite hot.

In the Fearless books, Gaia Moore is often described as beautiful, despite the fact that she never makes any effort to dress up for anything.(The only times she ever wears a dress that I can remember are the time Mary Moss forced her to because they were going to a nightclub and the time she had her jacket stolen, leaving her with just the dress to wear.)
