** The Good Hunter is essentially unstoppable. ** [[spoiler:The Plain Doll cannot be killed permanently like her Good Hunter]], as well as being the only character confirmed to have in the story, to the point of averting JustHitHim. ** The Energized Protodermis Entity, an EldritchAbomination who basically unwittingly set the entire BIONICLE story into motion, can destroy or transform anything with a slight touch. It's also a liquid, so pretty hard to avoid if you're in a room with it. However, it doesn't have control over whether the things it touches cease existing or get transformed. The being itself very rarely appears, its substance acting mostly as AppliedPhlebotinum. Its only known weakness is gravity -- it flows down big holes. It's also an AllPowerfulBystander; it has no interest in anyone else's affairs.
** The fully collected Great and Noble Masks gave the Toa Mata a massive assortment of stock superpowers that really should have made a lot of conflicts far easier. They ended up losing all those powers with their Toa Nuva upgrades, having to gather them a second time, then losing them again permanently.

** This is a world where fusions can hugely boost someone's power, so they had to be limited as well. Kaita fusions require three individuals merging bodies and minds, while Nui fusions require six. Disrupting their focus or getting too close to a powerful aura of destruction, like Makuta's lair, split apart such fusions. When engaging a group of powerful enemies, there's also a chance that they might fuse too (which Lewa, Gali and Kopaka found out the hard way when the Lehvak-Kal, Gahlok-Kal and Kohrak-Kal showed them their fused form). The Toa Nui, the combination of six Toa, is the ultimate example: legend has it that its power would rival that of PhysicalGod Mata Nui. Which is why WOrdOfGod the writer claimed Toa Nui are only theoretical but no group of Toa are strong enough to form one, otherwise the story would be wrapped up in seconds. The shapeshifter Krahka once did turn into an imitation of a Toa Nui by copying all six Toa Metru, and the resulting power overwhelmed her. The actual Toa Metru didn't dare to try it.

** Subverted by MadOracle Jadis. Her power is being TheOmniscient: Having seen the shape of the Universe from the outside, she knows everything inside of it. Only removing her from creation itself would prevent this power. However, rather than breaking the story, Jadis is the weakest character in the comic: Her omniscience is absolute, including knowledge of her own future actions. To Jadis, the future is as set in stone as the past: She cannot change anything, has no agency, and can't do anything she doesn't already know she'll do. He's scaled back in Endgame by having him gain a lot of weight due to depression over his failure to prevent the Snap and wallow in a alcohol-induced haze over the next five years. Upon getting back to shape in Thor: Love and Thunder, as a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, he is so significantly more powerful than any of them that he alone wipes out the entire army that they and the planet they were helping were losing against, and he is quickly removed from the team in order to ensure that the future Guardian films won't be dealing with the fact that the Guardians have who is easily among the top candidates for WorldsStrongestMan to follow his own story. He doesn't use Stormbreaker much, and certainly not at full capacity, in this film, for the obvious reasons of him and the weapon together being far too powerful, and he ends up losing it after having previously made it evident he could have single-handedly defeated Gorr the God Butcher, having shown he could easily handle him in a fight, whereas it took Valkyrie and Jane as Mighty Thor wielding Mjolnir to just drive back the God Butcher. The end of the film even has Thor voluntarily give it away to Love, reverting back to using Mjolnir.

* One of the things that contributed to ComicStrip/DickTracy 1960s DorkAge was the introduction of the "Space Coupe" and all its accompanying crime tracking and weaponry. Once you give the heroes a device that can go anywhere and track any kind of crime, the villains don't really have a chance. This led to the plot "Villains Try To Steal The Space Coupe" repeated ad nauseum for a while. When the new creative team started to reintroduce past elements to the current story, one of the first things they did was have Diet Smith tell Tracy that he mothballed the Space Coupe basically because of the "Villains Try To Steal The Space Coupe" factor.

*** The direct sequel handles things a little more interestingly. Due to story reasons, Shiki outright forgets his ability, and every time he ends up using it the world melts down, sending him back to the first day of the time loop he's in. When he finally remembers his ability though, he instantly kills the BigBad of the story with little to no fanfare after a grueling battle detailing how there was no way Shiki could defeat the BigBad normally.

They were later followed by the Headmasters Fortress Maximus and Scorponok, whose toys were larger that those of Metroplex and Trypticon (with Fort Max holding the record for largest Transformers toy ever for many decades). This caused the creators of various Transformers media some headaches, since their sheer size and power both made them should reasonably completely destroy difficult to utilise as characters and potentially made any battle trivial.
** WesternAnimation/TheTransformers had Metroplex and Trypticon be the largest of
all Transformers, but a few of the Autobots/Decepticons, it's probably no coincidence also made clear that they have relatively scant appearances were only utilised against each other, explaining that they were otherwise so energy intensive it was extremely difficult to keep them fully powered for long periods of time. Fortress Maximus and Scorponok were likewise created to oppose each other, but spent most of their time in their starship and scorpion modes acting as transport.
** ComicBook/TheTransformersMarvel reduced Fort Max and Scorponok to simply being unusually large Transformers (though still smaller than combiners). Trypticon was likewise reduced in stature to be roughly combiner-sized, allowing him to interact with smaller characters. Metroplex meanwhile was depicted as truly gigantic, but activating him was only done in desperation since he was meant to simply be the core of Autobot City.
** Creator/IDWPublishing: Like Marvel, Fort Max and Scorponok were depicted as 'merely' being somewhat large Transformers. Meanwhile,
