Shock rock dissipated as a mainstream force starting from TheTurnOfTheMillennium, around the time the panic around Music/MarilynManson (MisBlamed for the Columbine High School massacre) was superseded by a much more racially loaded moral panic around the hip-hop artist Music/{{Eminem}}.
