** During the Krakoa era, while most of the members of the main X-Books are in it for Krakoa, some of the side-characters are less invested. Mystique, for example, only joins up because of the promise of resurrecting her wife, and starts to sour when Professor X and Magneto welsh on the deal. Abigail Brand makes clear she thinks the whole thing is silly and small-minded, but the X-Men pay her and give her a pick of people she can use for her own agenda. Whiz Kid is only there because Krakoan medicines help with his dyslexia, but as he explains to Cable during ''ComicBook/TheLastAnnihilation'' he has no interest in dying for "the glory of Krakoa" (or for Cable, either).
