* World War II resulted in a whole crapload of dakka. For instance, the Japanese developed the ''Yamato''-class battleship. It mounted 18.1-inch guns, the biggest naval artillery ever used. It had ''nine'' of them. And six 6-inch guns. '''And''' ''twenty-four'' 5-inch guns. And over a hundred (one, followed by two zeros) anti-aircraft machineguns (precisely, up to 166 after the last modifications), as well. It's a good thing that battleships themselves were obsolete by the time it was produced, because clearly the Japanese understood dakka. To say nothing of the "anti-aircraft" flechette rounds for those main guns...
** The Americans, meanwhile, kept their fast battleships alongside their aircraft carriers ''because'' they were big ships that could carry lots and lots of anti-aircraft guns. They had ships to spare, after all. By the way, what is "lots and lots"? Up to 145 machine cannons on ''South Dakota''-class and 129 (but with higher percentage of more effective 40-mm Bofors cannons) on ''Iowa''-class in addition to 20 intermediate-caliber dual-purpose cannons and 9 main guns. This is probably the greatest amount of dakka ever assembled in one place by anyone: while Yamato was slightly ahead in ''number'' of guns, American AA guns had considerably better rate of fire (as well as being more effective in other ways), so they could spam even MoreDakka.
** [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Missouri_(BB-63) That Other Wiki]] puts the Iowa's secondary batteries at totaling 149. This number fluctuated over the years, with the subtraction of obsolete mounts and their replacement with Phalanx, Tomahawk, and Harpoon systems.
** The Yamatos were barely ahead in number of guns that could be used for AA, and most were 25 mm compared to the Iowa's 80 40 mm guns. For comparison, the Iowa could fire ~50,000 pounds of AA shells in a minute while the Yamato could only manage ~20,000. In fact, this meant that the Iowas could fire a grand total of 100,000 pounds in a minute if all its guns were firing at their nominal rate of fire in comparison to the Yamato's 80,000 (which the Yamatos definitely couldn't manage due to the blast from the main guns being astoundingly harmful to anybody unprotected on deck).

* ''{{Unreal}} Tournament 2004'' isn't terribly dakka-happy, with even the [[GatlingGood minigun]] having a depressingly slow rate of fire. A few mods aim to address this; one in particulas on a grounded "small" enemy and fills it full of lead.

* In an episode of ''TheSimpsons'' named The Cartridge Family (which generally pokes fun at America's gun culture) we see an NRA meeting where Moe explains how "with a few minor adjustments you can turn a regular gun into ''five guns''!". None of them are automatic, though.

ImprobableAimingSkills are all very well, but sometimes -- perhaps because your foe can DodgeTheBullet, perhaps because you need to [[ShootEverythingThatMoves mow down a whole army]] of {{Mook}}s at once, perhaps because you just really, ''really'' like the sound of your [[DawnOfWar Shoota]] -- you need to throw a wall of bullets at the target. Modern automatic weapons can achieve rates of fire that can only be described as "[[SpamAttack bullet spam]]", and the more guns you're using, the more dakka you can put out. After all, ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill.

** Again in ''WorldWarZ''. Machine guns, rockets, antitank shells, and the like prove ineffective against zombies in the battle of Yonkers: zombies don't dive for cover against machine gun fire, aren't bothered by shrapnel or overpressure effects from explosives, and so on. Therefore, all the modern world's top firepower platforms become useless (no more TankGoodness, no more BigDamnGunship, sure as HELL no more HelmetMountedSight. To keep you from being depressed we will throw in some FrickinLaserBeams) and the ultimate day to day weapon in the fight against zombies becomes...the semi-automatic rifle (DAKKA NOT ALLOWED! One shot per second, steady, aimed.) and a [[AnAxeToGrind battle axe]] welded together from [[ImprovisedWeapon scrap metal]].

** The ships of the Honorverse present a study of adding more and more Dakka through the course of the series. The first books start with ships throwing wave after wave of missiles at each other in an attempt to overwhelm each other's defenses. In the third book, the Manticorans start towing pods of missile launchers behind their ships letting them fire an eye-popping number of warheads (in their first volley, at least). This being a shooting war, the Havenites eventually figure out what was happening and start building their own pods for insane missile swarms going both ways now. Then the Manties start building ships that specially designed to carry the pods and dump as many as they want out the rear when they're needed, letting them fire all the pods they drop [[UpToEleven ''and'' the ship's main batteries.]] As if that weren't enough, these are new missiles that are essentially MIRVs, they split into smaller missiles, each with its own drive and warhead.

Hard to achieve with a single, rifle-sized weapon, though bonus points for screaming at the top of your lungs as you empty out a whole magazine at the target, or gratuitous camera shots devoted to torrents of shell cases spewing out of the gun. Getting MoreDakka is often the reasoning behind a lot of {{BFG}}s. [[GangstaStyle May be used to overcome stylistic inaccuracy.]] If you lack enough barrels but are a commander [[WeHaveReserves with reserves]], feel free to substitute [[ZergRush lots and lots of men]].

** Orcs and Goblins can still use this as you can squeeze in an absurd ammount of bow armed troops in their armies and they have acces to cheap warmachines.

* Honorable mention must go to ''{{Ultraviolet}}''. It had it's flaws but the heroine, through the use of extradimensional space/folding technology almost achieves enuff [[MoreDakka dakka]].

Then he picked out a few bits of the roadblock that he suspected people might be standing behind and concentrated on them for a while, boring tunnels through the wreckage of the vehicles until he could see what was on the other side, sawing through their frames and breaking them in half. He cut down half a dozen or so roadside trees behind [[ThereisNoKillLikeOverkill which he suspected Germans were hiding]], and then mowed about half an acre of grass.
