A female character's skirt or dress gets lifted by a sudden gust of wind; often in a comedic manner. Bonus points if the wind is sudden and unexpected, causing the woman to shriek and try to push the skirt back down. Oftentimes the woman actually enjoys the experience, or at least the attention it gets her.

The TropeNamer and most iconic example, of course, is Creator/MarilynMonroe in ''Film/TheSevenYearItch'' standing over the subway vent (see picture). Which is often parodied by having the character adopt Monroe's pose from the scene.

May or may not result in a PantyShot, depending on the presence or [[GoingCommando lack of underwear]], [[ShesGotLegs the angle]] it's seen from, and the victim's reaction time (for some reason, they always tend to be quicker on the draw when it's seen from the front). RuleThirtyFour most definitely applies here as the subject is FetishFuel for a fairly wide audience.

Despite all this the trope isn't exclusively female. Male versions are known to exist with a ManInAKilt as well.

* In the film version of Music/TheWho's rock opera, ''Tommy'', during the song, "Eyesight To The Blind", Music/EricClapton is the leader of a church that worships Marilyn Monroe, and a statue of her in this pose is the centerpiece. Worshipers believe they can be healed by touching the statue. When Tommy's mother tries to get him to kneel down to kiss the statue's feet, he accidentally knocks it over, causing it to shatter.

* There is a OncePerEpisode gag in ''Manga/MaicchinguMachikoSensei'' where the main character's skirt if flipped up one way or another (for example, putting fans on the ground). She always ends up in this pose (the "Maicchingu" pose is a Japanese anime trope in an of itself). Also female students are not immune and join in the pose.
