* Guts from Manga/Berserk is of the apparently-asexual variety. Due to , he HatesBeingTouched, but eventually, Casca is able to change his mind as applies to her. In some translations he even invokes the trope name word-for-word.

* * LightNovel/MyTeenRomanticComedySNAFU: Hachiman is generally heterosexual despite not having the guts or motivation to do anything; however, he can't stop himself from leaning a little around Totsuka. Of course, few guys can, since Totsuka's the cutest girl in the school (or would be if he was a girl).

* Averted actually for Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, despite what the page image shows the two have always been depicted as bisexual. That said the trope does come into play with Ivy, who has an extreme hatred for mankind, with one explicit exception, Harley Quinn. In Harley's solo series Ivy even stated that if she ever decided stop her criminal activities and settle down she would want to do it with Harley. Basically saying she plans to marry her one day.

This is also often an implicit assumption in SlashFic that tries to pair characters that are generally portrayed as heterosexual (or homosexual -- and/or related). This is especially likely if the characters are already HeterosexualLifePartners, Buddy Cops, an OddCouple, or are simply shown attracted to one character without any other attractions to reference. When it's made explicit, it's usually referred by "We're Not Gay We Just Love Each Other" (WNGWJLEO) in ficdom, where it's often criticized for its perceived homophobia (as such it's now an almost thoroughly DiscreditedTrope in SlashFic).

Since it often preludes a first kiss or actual sex, it's extremely common with 'Moe pure' characters who the writers are otherwise hesitant to show having an explicit interest in sexuality.

Something similar to this exists in real life; known as hetero/homoflexible, it refers to when someone is usually attracted to only one gender… but has found they have a small group - or even a single person who is the exception. There is at least one psychology paper that claims it is possible for everyone with sufficient level of romantic attraction to a specific person, but it mostly examines the issue as a thought experiment.

** And, in one episode in which Lily is having second thoughts about getting married, she tells Robin about all the things she wanted to do before marriage but never got the chance -- like taking up painting professionally, traveling, or having a lesbian 'experiment'. Robin's answer to this is to plant a girl-on-girl kiss on Lily's lips, which is accepted with a smile.
** Lily is, quite frankly, even gayer than Willow. Up to and including trying to get her husband into a threesome with Robin and in the same episode starts tearing off her clothes after kissing her.
** Also, in "The Three Day Rule," Marshall and Barney both admit that they're kinda gay for Ted.
*** And by "admit that" we mean "repeatedly attempt to engage Ted in sexting (posing as a woman he just met) and get into a fight about which of them would be more sexually compatible with Ted before realizing what they're saying."

* According to Series/Torchwood: Children of Earth, Ianto Jones isn't really gay. Jack is just special"It's not men; it's just him. Although, later on Clem can smell the queerness of him, so whether he's being honest to his sister may be left up in the air, especially as it's later established that he lied to his teammates about his family.
