* One of the chapters in the ''Fanfic/AvantasiaProtagAU'' series is named "Shopping". All four main characters go to the grocery store because the last time Aaron left the other three home alone, they broke the house. However, while Aaron is trying to be responsible, Gabriel loads his cart with candles, Scarecrow steals it and sets the candles all on fire and sends it into the alcohol aisle which sets the whole store on fire, and Entity rescues all the plushies.

* ''WesternAnimation/DennisTheMenace'': In "The Supermarket", Dennis, Joey, and Ruff go to the supermarket to buy some ginger for Alice. Mr. Haskel, the supermarket's manager, is worried that Dennis is going to cause trouble. Ruff makes a mess of the supermarket, and when he chases Mr. Haskel, Mr. Haskel kicks Dennis, Joey, and Ruff out before they even have a chance to buy ginger. * In the ''WesternAnimation/RockosModernLife'' episode, "Rocko's Happy Sack", Rocko and Spunky are hungry, out of food, and down to their last three dollars until next week's payday. When Rocko finds out there is a 99% off sale until 12:00 noon at the Heap-O-Food grocery store to celebrate its grand opening, he is determined to beat the clock. * In episode 2783 of ''Series/SesameStreet'', Luis wants Maria to meet her at the supermarket. When Big Bird and Snuffy overhear, they want to go with her, and she agrees to let them. Along the way, Big Bird and Snuffy argue over who gets to push the shopping cart, Big Bird tries to decide whether he wants to get a big or small box of Captain Birdflake cereal, and Snuffy ends up getting a small box of Snuffleupagus Puffs (which is the size of Luis, much to Maria's surprise).
