* Often a source of Comedy in FoxTrot: Once, Peter mentioned that the torrental downpour would have to force Roger from taking him golfing to Jason. It then cuts to Roger and Peter on the golf course, in the middle of a torrental downpour and the latter expressing hatred of Jason's laugh.

* The trope namer, ''Series/GilligansIsland'', has a number of these. To cite one of many examples: in the episode "The Goddess", a group of natives -- who presumably have contact with civilization -- visit the island searching for a "White Goddess" to take back to their island to AppeaseTheVolcanoGod. Mrs. Howell volunteers, but the Goddess must be a maiden. Ginger and Mary Ann simply refuse to take part. The men decide that one of them should dress up in drag to be the White Goddess. When it becomes apparent that the task will fall to Gilligan, he immediately protests, "I'm not gonna dress up like a girl, and you can't make me!", upon which the scene immediately cuts to Gilligan dressed as a woman (and still saying "You can't make me, you can't make me!").
