Why is it considered a good luck charm? Probably because four leaf clovers are relatively rare (the vast majority of clover stems have three leaves and only 1 in 5,000 have four leaves). Thus, finding one is a "lucky" event. While five, six or even more leaves is also possible, this is ''so'' rare that most people aren't aware of it and thus they didn't enter pop culture as "lucky".
