When the writers of a comedy aren't in the mood to come up with a unique premise, he may also have set up a bet/challenge/[[SillyWill goofy will]]/whatever for a huge amount of cash; {{hilarity ensues}} of course. Bonus points if someone drops the stock phrase, "You can't be crazy if you're rich, being rich means you're just eccentric."
