* Cream the Rabbit from ''SonicTheHedgehog'' has her ears as sort of the equivalent of GirlishPigtails. The hedgehogs and echidnas have ''spines'' as hair.
** Well, spines are modified hair, so at least that makes sense. There's no accounting for Cream though.
** Also, the hedgehogs have their spines far more spiky than one would expect for this trope, while echidnas have actual ''dreadlocks'' instead of spines (even WordOfGod refers to them as such).

Lots of media stars {{Funny Animal}}s, and as we all know, some animals have rather long ears, such as rabbits and various breeds of dogs. In nature, these ears serve the purpose of enhancing hearing, but once you put an animal on two legs, the ears serve a different purpose. Very often, FunnyAnimal characters will treat their long ears as if they were hair. Braiding a real animal's ears would probably hurt immensely, but Funny Animals seem to have no problem with it.
