Ironically, PunkRock itself, despite the obvious assumption, seems to be absent in many cyberpunk offerings. It may be due to it's dated style in many ways. Many feel that punk rock was at its peak in TheSeventies and stopped being relevant after the [[TheEighties mid 80s]], which is about when cyberpunk actually took off.

If the future consists of [[EverythingIsOnline massive computer networks]], [[MegaCorp corrupt corporations]] / [[CorruptPolitician governments]] and [[{{Cyborg}} augmented humans]], and is [[UsedFuture dirty and grim]] (i.e. CyberPunk), you can bet that the music of choice will be {{Techno}}, Electronica, and/or {{Industrial}} music. All three are forms of ElectronicMusic. {{Ambient}} music of choice? Techno. Hanging out at the CoolestClubEver? No HipHop, PunkRock, or any other dance music here, just techno.
