Characters who just happen to be bisexual. "Outing" a bisexual can be convoluted. Some pass for [[NoBisexuals straight or gay]] or allow others to make their own assumptions. As a result, a het-seeming bisexual reads as StraightGay, whereas a bisexual that acts CampGay is likely to be seen as [[CampStraight subverting the stereotypes associated with a camp persona]]. Bisexuals are not portrayed so much for their mannerisms as their [[AnythingThatMoves supposed habits]]. Actual bisexual stereotypes are generally limited to glam rockers, hippies, swingers and other flamboyant presentations of alternative sexuality. So in the end, it's likely that Bob or Alice [[SpeciesSurname Bisexual]] will be outed in passing.

Compare IfItsYouItsOkay, where someone who has shown interest in people of the opposite sex in the past has ''one'' exception. Contrast DepravedBisexual, where bisexuality is used as a way to make the character seem more evil (or conversely, being bisexual makes you evil), and AnythingThatMoves, where bisexuality is treated as a lack of discrimination in partners (in real life the two are not necessarily linked; just as straight and gay people don't find ''everyone'' of their preferred sex attractive, bisexual people don't find "everyone" attractive). Contrast SuddenlySexuality, where a character skips from gay to straight or vice versa with no warning, and NoBisexuals, where the characters/narrative don't consider bisexuality as an option.

Compare AmbiguouslyBi, where things are more, well, ambiguous. The most likely bisexual archetype to lead to ButNotTooBi. Compare and contrast EveryoneIsBi, where either this trope is in effect for the majority of the cast or sexuality is simply presented as a non-issue. * A Las Vegas tourism ad plays with this. A mixed-sex couple is checking into a Vegas hotel but the clerk is absent. The woman of the couple goes to freshen up. ** Germany and Italy. Italy hits on girls all the time, but his first real love was the Holy Roman Empire. And, following the theory that HRE = Germany, then he fell in love with Chibitalia when he thought the other was female.
** LovableSexManiac France has no problem going after guys (like trying to take advantage of [[DudeShesLikeInAComa a sick England]] and coming onto an underage Italy) or ladies, as seen with him flirting and heavy-petting with Seychelles. The author himself mentions that France is attracted to beautiful men and women. As well as some [[AnythingThatMoves non-humans]].
** Prussia is at times hinted to like Hungary and is also shown to like Italy very much, only referring to him as "Italia-chan", considering him 'cute', and even going as far as to ask him on a date, only for Italy to be oblivious to his question, having been fixated on Prussia's bird.
** Austria has been married to Spain, didn't mind taking his pants off to 'practice' with Germany who was freaking out over being a boy, and later was married to Hungary.
** Turkey is known for pursuing Japan and possibly Iceland, but in the past he also pursued Greece's mother Byzantine.
** Spain was married to Austria, proposed to marry Veneziano (who he lusted for in Italy's teen years to the point of making Italy creeped out) and Romano, he has a fantasy of having the Italy brothers as his personal maids, but he also has shown interest in random girls.
** Hungary was once married to Austria, but in a volume 4 strip, practically flirts with Ukraine.

** In the ''Ciel in Wonderland'' OVA, Ciel asks the Cheshire Cat (Grell Sutcliffe) which path he should take to get to the White Rabbit (Sebastian), to which she responds "I prefer going both paths! Two-ti-ming~!"
** In the canon storyline, Grelle Sutcliffe helped Madam Red largely out of romantic feelings for her, and has displayed attraction (lots of it) towards "Sebas-chan" and Will.

** Haru told Tohru that Yuki was his first love within two or three hours of hitting on her. He's also currently in a relationship with Rin.
** Mangaka Natsuki Takaya is on record as having said that Shigure Sohma's editor, Mitsuru, does not know (or, apparently, care) which sex Ritsu Sohma is, despite the fact that she is dating him.
* Chou Ryuuen aka Nuriko from ''Manga/FushigiYuugi'', if you take his canon feelings for Hotohori and his more ambiguous thoughts on Miaka as this.
* Tsugumi Rosenmeier of ''Anime/GenesisOfAquarion'' expresses an explicit infatuation with Reika, while sharing a much more playful and comfortable, but still fairly obvious attraction to Jun.
* ''LightNovel/FullMetalPanic'':
** In the HotSpringsEpisode of ''Anime/FullMetalPanicFumoffu'' Melissa Mao mentions that she learned so many languages by sleeping with men. A few moments later we hear Tessa telling her to "[[LesYay Please don't stare at me like that!]]" while Mao is [[SkinshipGrope rubbing ointment]] on her naked butt. Also in the ''The Battlegroup Commander's Sort of Boring Day'' we see Mao groping Tessa's breasts [[DudeShesLikeInAComa while she's passed out from drinking too much]].
** In the novels, Lemon seems to be Bi The Way towards Sousuke. He had a crush on Nami, especially due to her cute, flirty teasing, and is shown to be rather pervertedly happy when he [[ThanksForTheMammary accidentally found himself groping her breast]] while she's sleeping. But at the same time, it's shown numerous times that he has a strong attraction to Sousuke. When he first saw Sousuke, he thought Sousuke was ''very'' [[EvenTheGuysWantHim good looking]] and "charming," despite Sousuke being [[TheStoic completely emotionless]] (read: "eye candy"). Later, after Sousuke wins a tournament that helped win back Lemon's money, Lemon hugged Sousuke with "more passion than a french kiss would warrant," making Sousuke ''slightly'' uncomfortable. And later still, Lemon gets drunk, and subsequently invades Sousuke's personal space by hugging and groping him while blushing - which [[HatesBeingTouched irritates Sousuke to no end]].
* In ''Literature/FromTheNewWorld'', the idilic society is based on sex as stress relief, so people has sexual relations from early age, so it deals with unwanted teenage parenthood by forbidding heterosexual sex until early adulthood (although heterosexual sex that can't make them pregnant isn't a problem). As such, homosexual relationships are the norm for children until they are adolescents, although they can have platonic feelings towards the opposite sex. She also has distinctly flirty dialogue with Kurutan in another episode of the first season, indicating that they have a relationship. * Seiji Kisaragi in ''Manga/GokinjoMonogatari''.
* Practically every character in ''{{Manga/Gravitation}}''. When it's convenient, that is.
* Misty Brown from the manga ''Manga/GunsmithCats''. She's definitely gay (throughout the series she has a crush on Rally), and quite openly so, but it's also ''very'' heavily implied that she has feelings for Bean Bandit (she tries to make light of this when confronted, arguing that "When a guy [[spoiler:takes a bullet for you]], everything changes" and assuring Rally that "You're still my first choice").
* Edogawa-sensei from ''Manga/HanjukuJoshi'' had relationships with men before Mari acts as her ClosetKey.
* ''LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya'' has Haruhi herself confess to Kyon that this trope applies to her when she tells him "...as long as they aren't an ordinary human, it doesn't matter if they're male or female" in regards to who she wants as a partner.
* ''Manga/HayateTheCombatButler'':
** Nishizawa Ayumu, who is refreshingly good natured and frank about being a little aroused by her best friend, who also loves her childhood crush.
** Wataru's mother was frustated because her childhood love married someone else, and that childhood love was no other than Nagi's mother. Afterwards, Wataru's mother married Wataru's father, who she used to love.
* Nene in ''Manga/{{Hyakko}}'', the ClassRepresentative, is openly bisexual--though considering the very small amount of males the cast runs into, and the extremes to which Nene goes with her lesbian side, she could very easily slip into SchoolgirlLesbians territory at any moment.
* ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure'' has Dio Brando, who series creator Creator/HirohikoAraki confirmed will go after any male or female as long as they interest him. Interestingly enough for a villain, he averts the DepravedBisexual trope, as his sexuality ([[VampiresAreSexGods while]] [[StupidSexyFlanders pretty]] [[EvenTheGuysWantHim overwhelming]]) is never seen as part of his sociopathy. In fact, it can be argued that his bisexuality is one of his very few ''redeeming'' personality traits, as it is what allows him to form the only meaningful bond with another person (Pucci) we ever see him have in the entire series.
* ''Manga/JunjouRomantica'': Since Miyagi's first love was a woman and he is currently very much in love with a man.
* From ''Anime/{{Kiznaiver}}'' there is Maki Honoka, the High-and-Mighty IceQueen of the group. She is revealed in episode 6 and 7 to have been in love with a girl named Ruru, [[spoiler: she died of an illness after they part ways, and becomes Maki's LostLenore]]. By the end of the anime though, she is implied to have started a relationship with Yuta.
* ''Manga/KatekyoHitmanReborn'': Tsuna has feelings for Kyoko, blushed when seeing Lal Mirch naked and when Chrome kissed him on the cheek, and also blushes around and doesn't mind getting subtexty with his male guardians.
* Aoi Reiji from the YaoiGenre manga ''Manga/LoveMode'' is breaking up with a female lover in the beginning of the series, is identified as Bisexual by his older brother, then ultimately decides the love of his life is [[OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent Naoya]]. He affectionately calls him a "brat".
* ''Anime/{{Madlax}}'' arranges a date with a (male) guerilla fighter, flirts with a boy she's hired to protect, [[SleepCute sleeps cute]] and cuddles with a woman she's hired to protect, and ends up with her (female) {{Rival}} in the finale.
* ''Manga/MaidSama'': Maria Miyazono.
* Asougi Rin from ''Anime/{{Mnemosyne}}'' beds both multiple beautiful women ''and'' handsome studs with regular intervals.
* Kou from ''Manga/MonochromeFactor'' flirts with both Haruka and Aya. (This is an anime-only addition, however.)
* Nagasumi of ''Manga/MyBrideIsAMermaid'' has a crush on Sun and is repeatedly shown to be as smitten as his mother with [[EvenTheGuysWantHim Masa]] in the anime.
* Nezumi from ''LightNovel/{{No6}}'' kisses both Sion and a female sex worker.
* There's a surprising example in ''Anime/PleaseTwins'', where [[spoiler:the flamboyantly gay Shimazaki]] is actually bisexual; [[spoiler:both he and Tsubaki have been pursuing Maiku to avoid admitting they still have feelings for each other.]]
* ''Manga/OuranHighSchoolHostClub'':
** Haruhi Fujioka notes offhandedly that her gender identity is pretty weak anyway, so she doesn't mind if people think she's a guy. And guys, girls, looks? What's that compared to who they actually are, anyway? Though, in truth she doesn't show anything more than politeness to girls from this point on. At the end of the first episode/chapter, she jokes that it might be fun to have fangirls, adding that maybe she's "a little bent that way". And she doesn't seem to mind flirting with the girls, although she may or may not actually understand that she's flirting.
** Haruhi's father Ryouji "Ranka" Fujioka is a male {{crossdresser}} and confirmed to be bi in side-materials, but after the death of Haruhi's mother he said he could never love another woman. This got incorporated into the anime, where he sometimes flirts with other men at the bar he works at, but again says he could never be with another ''woman'' after Haruhi's mother.
* George from ''Manga/ParadiseKiss'', mentioned in an aside. If standing on top of your car and announcing it loudly can be called that.
* ''Anime/RevolutionaryGirlUtena'':
** Wakaba is in love with Saionji, but she calls Utena her "boyfriend" and is very affectionate towards her.
** ''Just'' Wakaba? It'd be easier to state who ISN't [[EveryoneIsBi bisexual]] in ''Revolutionary Girl Utena''.
* Yukari Sendou of ''Manga/RosarioToVampire'' is attracted to ''both'' members of the semi-OfficialCouple, Moka and Tsukune. She's a ShipperOnDeck for the two of them to get together, because that way it'll be easier for her [[{{Polyamory}} to score a threesome]].
* Fairly blatantly Rosalie from ''Manga/TheRoseOfVersailles''.
* ''Franchise/SailorMoon'':
** Implied in the third [[Manga/SailorMoon manga]] arc with the feelings Usagi shows toward Haruka/Uranus even after finding out that Haruka is a girl. She's also quite taken with Rei in the first arc, making the same heart-eyes at Rei as she does at Tuxedo Mask, and she makes a point to call Rei her "beautiful" friend whenever she's going through the recap introductions before each volume.
** Minako and Rei herself are hinted to be this in the manga. Both of them have been shown attracted by boys (Artemis kept count of Minako's 'first loves' during ''Manga/CodenameSailorV'', congratulating when she reached the ''5000th first love''), and there are hints that, somewhere down the line, they fell in love with each other (in particular in the final arc and promotional material they tend to mirror Haruka and Michiru, the resident lesbian couple). That, and Minako too is been shown attracted by Haruka even after finding out her true gender.
** Kunzite has a boyfriend in the [[Anime/SailorMoon anime]] and is shown to be attracted to Reika, a girl.
* Ryuuki from ''LightNovel/SaiunkokuMonogatari'' flaunts his attraction to men in order to show himself as a king who won't produce a heir anytime soon and he once teasingly flirts with [[spoiler:his brother in disguise, though Ryuki does not know that]] badly squicking him. Also it is fairly clear from the beginning that he's falling for Shuurei hard. He has to [[spoiler:outright declare his attraction to women and kiss her]] to make Shuurei realize it, because she [[ObliviousToLove masterfully ignores]] his non-so-subtle gestures.
* ''Manga/ShinshiDoumeiCross'':
** Maora is attracted to both Haine and Maguri.
** Ushio ends up with Senri and is shown dating scores of boys - but the latter turns out to be a ploy for Haine's attention, who she's in love with. She succeeds in guilting her into a (brief) relationship.
* Sora of ''Manga/{{Shitsurakuen}}'' has got [[HaremSeeker quite the harem]] of [[SchoolgirlLesbians adoring schoolgirls]] who she's [[RescueRomance rescued from]] [[StrawMisogynist evil boys]], but when [[TheGlassesComeOff Akane took off his glasses]], she went completely goggle-eyed for him too.

And yet he has male bath attendants who rub him down vigorously and then clothe him and he hits on his generals. And he had an entire canon song written about how he and Wildstar are "bound together" and "unable to live with it anymore".
* The titular ''Anime/SteelAngelKurumi''. She falls in love with both of her masters Nako (the female) and Nakahito (the male).
* From ''Manga/TheDemonOroron'' there's Othello, brother of the title character, "the most eccentric playboy" of the royal family of Hell. He was previously married to and madly in love with a woman, Futaba, and currently obsessed with the tragic bounty-hunter Mitsume.
* Zigzagged with Risa Momioka ''Manga/ToLoveRu'': throughout her appearances she ranges from full-blown bisexual, situational bi or merely bi-curious. It doesn't help she doubles as TheTease, making her interactions with girls, particularly when it comes to SkinshipGrope, really ambiguous on whether she's simply playing around or not (the latter turns "[[BlackComedyRape unhealthy]]" occasionally). * Creator/LoisMcMasterBujold's ''Literature/VorkosiganSaga'':
** Captain Bel Thorne is a bioengineered {{hermaphrodite}} who has had male and female lovers and was always monogamous and never played anyone of any sex off of someone of another. Gender was never an issue with Bel and it (Bel prefers to go by "it" primarily for the discomfort it causes) seemed to become attracted to people based primarily on their status as fellow FishOutOfWater.

* Liir and Elphaba from in ''Literature/TheWickedYears''. Elphaba has a relationship with Fiyero but also has feelings for Glinda. * Pretty much ''everyone'' in ''Literature/TalesOfTheBranionRealm'', in which if a character is not married, they almost certainly have a same-sex relationship -- and can switch off, for example when they're ready to have children, or conversely are past menopause or their spouse has died.
* Used in multiple layers in Marge Piercy's novel ''Woman On The Edge of Time''. In an early chapter, both readers and the protagonist Connie believe the character Luciente is male. He initially hesitates, but then says "Well, my tastes are quite open!" and does it anyway. Nekomaru even mentions the strong sexual pulse he's feeling from Teruteru.
** The Ultimate Musician, Ibuki Mioda, clearly has a taste for men, but she is shown to really appreciate females too.

* Magnus Bane. Later books in ''Literature/TheMortalInstruments'' as well as ''Literature/TheInfernalDevices'' and ''The Bane Chronicles'' reveal that he dated and slept with men and women. He also describes himself as 'freewheeling bisexual'. ''Literature/TheInfernalDevices'' shows it at first with certain comments he makes about Will upon first meeting him and Tessa, and later [[spoiler:makes it obvious when he is shown to have started a physical relationship with Woolsey Scott]].

*** The [[GenderFlip alternate timeline version]] of Miyamoto Musashi comments on the beauty of certain men and women, and later makes it very clear by complaining in the New Year's event that she got kicked out of the hot springs for being a pervert around both men and women. This actually relates to a pun; she [[DualWielding wields two swords]] and in Japanese, someone who wields two swords is called a "両刀使い" or "ryoutoutsukai", which is another way of calling someone "bisexual".

* In ''AudioPlay/ThirtySixQuestions, Judith mentions that she is "not totally straight", as is her alter-ego, Natalie.

* ''VideoGame/{{Catherine}}'': ''[[UpdatedRerelease Full Body]]'' actually includes a GayOption who wasn't present in the original version of the game; [[spoiler: Rin, aka Qatherine]]. The golden ending to this route pretty much entails Vincent realising that he's this trope, with an accompanying message about love conquering all and how having an open mind can also in turn open up your life to new things.
