* The Goldfish Robot in Sophia McDougall's ''Mars Evacuees'' is a Sadist and Misplaced Kindergarten Teacher, but when its students are endangered, it flies into battle against any danger without hestitation.

* ''Literature/TimeScout'': Kit and Malcolm take it upon themselves to manage Margo's education in badassery. They hire Ann and Sven as tutor's for guns and close-quarters combat; two separate sub-badassitudes, and not the sum.

* ''Literature/StarshipTroopers'' has Jean Dubois, Rico's History and Moral Philosophy teacher, retired Lt-Colonel in the Mobile Infantry, who lost an arm in combat.

** Numair from ''Literature/TheImmortals''. He's very patient and does a good job teaching Daine how to train her wild magic, given that nobody knows much of anyting about it, but gods help you if you interfere. He'll demonstrate that he is, in fact, the strongest mage in Tortall.

* In ''Literature/HeraldsOfValdemar'' most of the teachers at the Collegia are this. Especially the Herald ones, but a good chunk of the Bardic and even Healer teachers are not ones to mess with. Heralds just stand out because not only do they teach they ''do''.
** Special mention goes to Alberich. Old, battle and fire scared warrior long before he even became a Herald. He's the only one to escue Herald White and is the resident Weaponmaster. He teaches the student how to fight and survive in a SternTeacher fashion. Because his teachings will not only save the lives of those the Heralds rescue but themselves. Also, should note that ''only with a handicap'' can anyone defeat him in a one-on-one battle.

* The faculty of Beacon in ''WebAnimation/{{RWBY}}'' are all skilled Huntsmen and Huntresses. The most notable examples are Glynda Goodwitch, who can repair entire buildings with a flick of her wand and can take down Grimm without even looking, Professor Port, who treats Grimm like any GreatWhiteHunter would, and Doctor Bartholomew Oobleck, who is a bit more bookish than the other two but can total MiniMecha with one hit from his mace/napalm launcher/thermos. The most badass, however, is headmaster Ozpin, [[spoiler:who puts up one hell of a fight against a Cinder who has the entirety of the Fall Maiden's power, landing multiple hits on her in quick succession]].

* ''Fanfic/TurningRedSecretsOfThePanda'': Catherine Moore [[spoiler:aka Xia Lee]] is the new biology teacher at [[WesternAnimation/TurningRed Mei's]] school, and is shown to be a competent fighter, able to go toe-to-toe with Jason's men.

*** The core of the Order of the White Lotus is made up of CoolOldGuy Badass Teachers: Iroh, Pakku, Bumi, Jeong Jeong, and Piandao.

*** Toph as well. She joins the group in order to teach earthbending to Aang, and she's pretty much ''made'' of badass. She also opened up an academy after the war to spread her knowledge of metalbending, which she invented.

** Of the four named faculty, two were accomplished martial artists, one was able to use his Janitorial Supplies as Improvised Weapons, and the other one was a HippieTeacher as well as TheCutie, and showed a perfect example of BewareTheNiceOnes. The principal handled capture pretty nicely as well. Course, one scene had all the teachers rappelling into the cafeteria to help the kids in the fight against the BigBad.

** The Huntress, of the [[ComicBook/{{Batman}} Bat-family]]. She's a crime-fighter by night and a high-school teacher by day. Just try to threaten [[MamaBear "her kids"]].

** Chaim Levon from the ''ComicBook/GlobalGuardians'' was a Jewish school teacher before becoming the super hero Seraph and aiding Superman to dismantle bombs in Israel.
** Wildman was the most fearless and ferocious combatant in ComicBook/SgtRock's Easy Company. In the civilian world, he was a quiet and mild-mannered high school history teacher.
** ''ComicBook/WonderWoman1987'': Mnemosyne is an Themysciran philosopher and teacher, who is also an Amazon with all the training, speed and strength that entails.

** ComicBook/SpiderMan, for the brief time he worked as a science teacher at his old high school. One cool moment is when he uses his Spider-Sense to catch a paper ball aimed at his head without looking.
** The ComicBook/XMen are almost always badass, and this extends to their teaching careers at the Xavier Institute as well. Emma Frost in particular is very protective of her students, probably because two of her previous classes of students were murdered.

*** In ''ComicBook/UncannyXMen'' Vol. 3, Illyana Rasputin also becomes one and has become more powerful.
** ComicBook/ThePunisher once went undercover as a substitute teacher in a high school to weed out a gang of drug dealers. He quickly developed this attitude towards the students he was teaching.
* The teachers at ComicBook/PS238 are almost all retired superheroes. This follows logically.

Sometimes you have a teacher who is not a [[SadistTeacher sadist]], particularly [[SternTeacher strict]], or overly [[MisplacedKindergartenTeacher nice]]. They are just a regular teacher. [[MoreThanJustATeacher Maybe]]. Until you threaten their students. After that you might want to start praying to whatever god is out there for mercy. You ''do not'' mess with their students. Getting away with just a lecture is not an option. Detention, even less. And don't even think about getting off with a warning. These are the teachers that make you wish they'd leave discipline up to the principal.

*** Almost all of [=McGonagall=]'s interactions with Umbridge in ''Literature/OrderOfThePhoenix'' qualify as this. She repeatedly mocks or snarks at Umbridge, who could fire her with a word to Fudge if she wished, and encourages Peeves to screw with her. And when Umbridge starts trying to pick on Harry and the other students, [=McGonagall=] does her best to stop her or thwart her.
** Severus Snape. He was [[spoiler:a spy for Dumbledore, could fly without a broom, and during his spying days he lied to Voldemort's FACE for years]]. And he was an innovator, too. [[spoiler:He is in fact the Half-Blood Prince who was behind a number of innovative and sometimes ''nasty'' spells]]. And when he actually ''does'' teach, once you get past his {{Jerkass}}ery, he is ''focused''; he teaches with a purpose.

* ''VideoGame/StreetFighter'', being a fighting game series that takes place in a WorldOfBadass, has no shortage of badass teachers. In ''VideoGame/StreetFighterIII'', Ken takes Sean under his wing and trains him. Meanwhile, in ''VideoGame/StreetFighter6'', Luke fills this role for the player in World Tour mode (and by extension, every other member of the playable roster), as does Chun-Li for her adopted daughter Li-Fen.

** Might Guy is perhaps the most badass teacher in the series. He isn't only TheAce and RatedMForManly, but he never loses a fight on panel [[spoiler:until near the very end (and even then he still almost won)]] and one-shots one of the strongest antagonists in the series.
