** Also, a lot of its humor came from making fun of television clichés... and then they added Poof. Those twits.

* A lot of humor on ''WesternAnimation/AdventureTime'' relies on this trope. But special mention has to go to a little scene in "Too Young". The earl of Lemongrab is watching his butler scream in agony after a drop of spicy serum lands in his eye. Lemongrab, who has NoIndoorVoice, bangs the table, and SHRIEKS: "STOP SCREAMING!! WHY ARE YOU SCREAMING?!"

** In "[[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS1E20GreenIsntYourColor Green Isn't Your Color]]", Spike gets mad at Twilight for telling someone about his crush on Rarity...while he's wearing a fanboyish t-shirt with her picture on, making his crush pretty darn obvious.

After managing to cure himself with the help of a mail-order "temper machine", Donald cheeses Daisy off by laughing at her garish new hat, whereupon Daisy loses ''her'' temper and gives Donald [[ViolenceDiscretionShot a savage, off-screen beating]].

** In "Baby Sale", Didi and Kira refuse to buy clothes from a store whose daycare supervisor didn't keep a close eye on their children, something that [[ParentalNeglect they and the other adults are guilty of]] on a regular basis.

* Sabine Wren in ''WesternAnimation/StarWarsRebels'' wears a proper Mandalorian helmet, but she still frequently refers to stormtroopers as bucketheads.

** In "The [=ABCs=] of Beth" after Jerry breaks up with an alien warrior woman he confesses that he was just dating her to make Beth jealous after their divorce. She then chews out Jerry while calling humanity selfish and dishonest, only for ''her'' ex to show up in the middle of her rant and question her presence in his hunting grounds.
** In "Morty's Mind Blowers" Rick and Morty are stranded on a planet with nights cold enough to kill them in seconds. Morty suggests seeking shelter in a nearby cave, to which Rick tells him he's seen too many movies... Right before he kills their LoyalAnimalCompanion and [[Film/TheEmpireStrikesBack slides himself into its guts for warmth]]. [[spoiler: For added hilarity, this turns out to be completely unnecessary, as Rick was mistaken as to which planet they were actually on]].

* In the ''[[WesternAnimation/AvengersAssemble Avengers: Black Panthers Quest]]'' episode "The Vibranium Curtain, Part 2", Klaw helps the Vulture escape from prison in exchange for vibranium. Vulture immediately turns on Klaw when things go bad, and when Klaw protests they had a deal, he says his part of the deal was to give him the vibranium, which he did. When the heroes defeat ''him'' he starts screaming for Klaw to help him, since they had a deal.

** One episode has Stu and Drew at the park observing a father giving in to his bratty daughter’s demands to give her ice cream now, Drew laughs and comments “Boy am I glad I’m not in that guy’s shoes”, Stu then gives him a confused look, because everyone knows how “well behaved” his daughter Angelica is.

** In ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooAbracadabraDoo'' Daphne asks Velma why she doesn't hang out with her sister more often and she replies that she finds her too nerdy and that she over-analyzes everything, after she says that she notices a powder on the floor mistaking it for a clue and Daphne replies that it's for her feet.

** The episode "Toy Scary Boo" has Daphne, Velma and Scooby find a pink and green toy truck. Daphne comments "Who would paint their van like that?" This is coming from someone who rides around in a teal and green van with orange flower decals.
** The episode "A Scooby-Doo Valentine" has Daphne and Velma [[InstitutionalApparel wearing orange prison jumpsuits]] while being interrogated by Officer [=McBride=]. Daphne pleads that she doesn't want to go to jail because she doesn't want to wear the same clothes every day. This is funny because, like many cartoons, the main characters of ''Scooby-Doo'' are [[LimitedWardrobe always shown wearing the same clothes]].
** In the ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooAndGuessWho'' episode "Quit Clowning!" guest star Kenan Thompson does an impression of Shaggy while using the word "like" after every other word, Shaggy replies with "Like dude, like I don't like, say "like", like that much".

** In "Mermaid Man Begins", [=SpongeBob=] and Patrick go to Squidward's house to watch the ''Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy'' Origin Special on his television after the power at [=SpongeBob's=] house is cut. Squidward refuses to let them in, telling them he has better things to do than to watch grown men prance around in ridiculous outfits. Squidward is then revealed to be watching a man dancing ballet on his television.
