They did this in the Alvin and the Chipmunks cartoon in the episode "Tattle Tale" when Alvin looks after Vanesa's myna, Simon remarks they can repeat words. Theodore responds "Who ever heard of talking animals?" Prompting Alvin and Simon to both look at him. Because you know, they're talking chipmunks.

What about when SpongeBob SquarePants describes the Alaskan Bull Worm as big, wiggly, and ate everything? Patrick comments "That's horrible!" and proceeds to eat an entire Krabby Patty meal in one bite.
